Yuanji, this was the young Lata's voice the whole nation fell in love with...........Sachinda was a great composer no doubt, perhaps the greatest, given the variety and the extent of his music; Salil gave the most lilting music and as for Hemant Kumar, one only wishes he had given music to more films. But to say OPN was dull in front of them just exposes Mr. Roy's prejudice. OPN and C Ramchandra gave the most rollicking music, and soft emotional songs as well where indicated. They were all GREAT
S. D. Burman, Salil Choudhury & Hemant Kumar are My all time favourite. O. P. is very Dull to them. Bengal has given So Much to Bollywood without expectation.
Yuanyuanji, this song by Lathaji is one of my favourites. But then, never did I enjoy it more in this blog, because it came with your love and affection. I love you for that Yyanuanji..
mesmerising ! majical ! elevating and eternally beautiful ! this is one of your best uploads yuan ! and thumbs up for the wonderful comment by our dear chamogaa ji ! thanks once again !
@yuanyuanyuanyin your memory is amazing yuan ! but then you yourself are amazing ! LOL ! thanks for the lovely song once again ! i am enjoying it immensely !
It is said that Sahir Ludhianvi wrote several songs for other poets who used them in movies under their own name. He was reportedly paid a few hundred rupees for each song. It was after a few years that he established himself in the film industry and started writing under his own name.
My father got a cassette of old songs recorded in Ahmedabad in 1977 and was quite fond of it. I loved this song the most in it and played the cassette enough times (just for this song) to spoil the magnetic tape completely on it. Thanks Yuan for rekindling old memories. This sons was, is and will always remain close to my heart, especially the start - it really seems an angel is singing.
The first song Sahirji wrote was ""Badal Rahi Hai Zindagi" with another 3 songs for film "Aazadi Ki Raah Par (1949)". But neither the film nor the songs could become popular. And this song from film Naujawan with Burmandada music sung by Lataji hit the records bringing recognition to Sahir Ludhianviji at the time he was struggling for a living. This song paved the way of prosperity to him remaining on top till todate. Thanks for loading this song
In late sixties when I was in Final Year MBBS in Liaquat Medical College, Hyderabad, Sind, our Professor of Gynaecology Dr. Mrs. Ansari was taking a lecture and at that time the sound of this song came from a nearby hotel. Our Professor by the way asked about the film for this song and no student could tell the correct answer, then she told us that it is from the Film "Naujwaan". After that I could never forget this beautiful song nor I forgot our nice Late Professor.
Thanks for upload nice songs Yuanyuanyuanyin - ji, I always listen nice songs of any Music director, whether they r S J - S D - M M - C R - all make nice memorable songs, I love those all songs which touch heart and became free relax piece. Thanks upload, and also web You tube who gave us nice web.Vipin Batavia-New York.
after more than 50 yrs , this majical creation of sahir-s d burman -lata ji is still one of the most beautiful songs of indian music which remains as fresh as a new bloom , unparallelled , in its beauty and fragrance ,always spreading endless joy ! thanks for the divine upload yuan !
Hello Yuan. TY. This was a Kardar production. A.R. Kardar would normally use Naushad for music in his films but in this case, the investors pressured him to use S.D. Burman. In films ChaCha Chaudhary he had to use Madan Mohan compositions and in Dil-e-Nadaan, Ghulaam Mohammads.
Sahir's first movie as a song writer was Jaal(official) but he had written this particular song for Naujawan which was released(song) before Jaal. Long live Radio Columbo. :-)
This has to be ALL TIME GREAT TUNE! It never fades and every time you listen to this song, it overpowers you. One can literally feel "Tandhi Hawaiin' blowing off your face. Lata is pure magical, at her best.
Dear Yuan, How do I resolve error code 017? I get this message when I try to save the audio song. Please let me know the procedure to save the song. Thanks.
You Ask me, that meaning of Swati Means in Hindi"Ohs ki Boond "U know one statement is in Hindi"agar ohs ki boond Seep ke muh mein jata hai to moti ban jata hai"I hope u understant that what i m saying...Bye
well so far as i know Swati is name of a nakshatra nd its true that they say if in Swati nakshatra, a rain drop falls in oyster/bamboo, it becoes pearl...but ohs ki boond is tuhin not swati...m saying this coz by chance my name is also swati :)
This enchanting celebration of youthful romance is one of those evergreen songs that you can't easily let go. I am glad it is now on your site as well,Yuan, for I don't ever want to lose it. As I said at another site, it is the product of a "conspiracy of joy" among Sahir, SDB, Lata, and NJ. Let the world be filled with such conspiracies. Thanks.
Thanks Yuan, what a song! SD's masterpiece and Lata the koyal sings like a nightingale. Nalini is perfect for the song.

@RealMusicKing - Thank you again my dear friend for the valuable information.
Yes, many friends are talking of Radio Ceylon [Colombo] broadcasting of these songs from here during good old days.
Do you have any idea of why the Indian broadcasting stations have NOT aired these songs at the time?
Some say, due to cultural reasons.
Some say these are "commercial songs" and due to "closed economy policy" they have not done it.
Actually, what was the reason?
Please let us know.
Thank you.
