Yuanji, this was the young Lata's voice the whole nation fell in love with...........Sachinda was a great composer no doubt, perhaps the greatest, given the variety and the extent of his music; Salil gave the most lilting music and as for Hemant Kumar, one only wishes he had given music to more films. But to say OPN was dull in front of them just exposes Mr. Roy's prejudice. OPN and C Ramchandra gave the most rollicking music, and soft emotional songs as well where indicated. They were all GREAT

My father got a cassette of old songs recorded in Ahmedabad in 1977 and was quite fond of it. I loved this song the most in it and played the cassette enough times (just for this song) to spoil the magnetic tape completely on it. Thanks Yuan for rekindling old memories. The first song Sahirji wrote was ""Badal Rahi Hai Zindagi" with another 3 songs for film "Aazadi Ki Raah Par (1949)". But neither the film nor the songs could become popular. And this song from film Naujawan with Burmandada music sung by Lataji hit the records bringing recognition to Sahir Ludhianviji at the time he was struggling for a living. This song paved the way of prosperity to him remaining on top till todate. Thanks for loading this song

In late sixties when I was in Final Year MBBS in Liaquat Medical College, Hyderabad, Sind, our Professor of Gynaecology Dr. Mrs. Ansari was taking a lecture and at that time the sound of  this song came from a nearby hotel. Our Professor by the way asked about the film for this song and no student could tell the correct answer, then she told us that it is from the Film "Naujwaan". After that I could never forget this beautiful song nor I forgot our nice Late Professor.

Hello Yuan. TY. This was a Kardar production. A.R. Kardar would normally use Naushad for music in his films but in this case, the investors pressured him to use S.D. Burman. In films ChaCha Chaudhary he had to use Madan Mohan compositions and in Dil-e-Nadaan, Ghulaam Mohammads.

Sahir's first movie as a song writer was Jaal(official) but he had written this particular song for Naujawan which was released(song) before Jaal. Long live Radio Columbo. :-)
