this is one of the sickest bands with the sickest kind of music they taught musicians to be like kinda...but a good way cuz i fricking love this band sooooo much and this song too.
@SomeRandomName00 Apparently MJK finds many of Tool's songs to be quite personal to him, so he'd prefer not to be in the light in order to perform an adequate vocal delivery for the songs. As well, he doesn't want to come across as the center of attention, and that's one reason for why he's in the back with no lights right beside Danny (the drummer). One more note: all four members must be recognized; there's still too many people who believe Tool is just about MJK...
@Devils6Little6Bitch6 that my friend, is a very weird question, because first: this is Tool, and has nothing to do with Marilyn Manson. and second: Twiggy Ramirez is the guitar player of Marilyn Manson, the one at 0:19 is Justin Chancellor BASSIST of Tool
Its so bad ass how he doesn't play in front of everybody. Its like they're all shredding instruments in odd timing and then there is this voice speaking crazy riddles coming from what seems to be another dimension.
@calebcox5 you a fag.but if he was a girl, then it would give me a big bad boner for sure.but dude, that's just wrong.but danny carey is thee best drummer.
I like how Maynard is just a silhouette in the back, and letting the attention go to the other guys. Most bands and footage of bands just focus solely on the singer, which is fucking lame considering he would be nothing without the other guys.
@PBandJeIIy Not so much. Seen him perform with A Perfect Circle? Right up front for their shows. First couple major tours with Tool he was also right up front. So I can't say that I buy the whole stage fright thing. He's said numerous times in the past that he doesn't want the audience focusing on him and what he's doing. He wants them to focus on the music and think about the music itself and not the guy singing it.
from 3:45-4:31, needs to be redone for the studio version!!!!!! when I heard this version live last week, I became a fan of schism, but only the live version, I thought this was only a radio song for Lateralus, it never really fitted in with the cd
@x4aperfecttool by that i meant i went to mayhem fest and missed out on tool. now that i look back on it i think its the dumbest descision ive ever done involving concert choices.
I was standing right in from of Adam, and I looked over to Justin and I was waiting for the whammy part, And I raised my hands like i was praising god, and said "COME ON JUSTIN!" And it was the best shit ever. My friend I went with got danny's stick. :) USED one too.
i couldnt really say that they'll ever come back because some of the people that went were straight up douchebags... but whatever... drove 3 hours to and 3 hours from this show then drove 4 there and 4 back to the charlotte show. fucking balls o the wall
if you dont mind, could you explain to me how they were douchebags? im trying to study tool fans personalities to see exactly why they are douchebags.
Maynard looks fucking sick in that uniform. I'm digging the whole white scene too. I was more excited than any Christmas in my entire life when I heard they were coming... and I couldn't get a fucking ticket.
i'm pretty sure i did get the frisbee toss...we're stil working on getting the badass audio over the video to upload anymore...sorry for the delay....also charlotte show coming soon too
This was my first ever concert and it was AMAZING! Maynard coulda done better...most of the time you couldnt hear him over dannys amazing drumming and everythiung else going on. I loved everything else. The opening bad was not very good =[ .
A question for mr. heck: you didnt happen to capture danny's behind the back frisbee toss at the end of the show did you? just wondering cause that was pretty awesome.
I'm waiting to encode the good audio we got from someone else before we put any more up...and still waiting to put up from the charlotte show...i taped the whole show as well...in due time..it all came out really good i think
7-27-09 the day my life changed forever, as i have become one of many to experience tool live. if you have any more footage of this show please upload it so i can relive this amazing event.
yeah i wanna see more as well, my seat was no more than 10 feet from where this was shot so it's of the perfect angle for me to truly relive the evening
hey does anyone know if they actually did a cover of Pink Floyd's "on the run" at this concert. I mean i was there but i was trippin so hard i can't even remember. I think they at least played a part of it in between Rosetta Stoned and Flood you know when they had those trippy red lights going. Does anyone know for sure?
didn't think about it til you said something, but yeah Adam was fucking around between songs and he did play about 4 bars of a riff that sounds pretty similar to the Floyd riff before going into "Flood"....and for the record, this was my 12th Tool show and though it wasn't their best performance it was still a phenomenal show. The only thing that really disappointed me was Adam's Talkbox not working for the "Jambi" solo, but he pulled it off on the Wah pretty good so whatev'
He's usually in the shadows. Tool's an unconventional band. They do things differently. If you were there, being an honest fan and all, you should know this.
Not only this, but I suppose the GA crowd is too damn disrespectful to just TURN OFF THE FLASH. Flash screws everything up anyways! Maynard was probably annoyed/didn't feel "into it" as much as he usually would be. Just due to a lack of connection with the audience.
I was there With Kang 7001. It was my birthday. Best fn bday ever. We drove from gatlinburg TN. I was using my blackberry, and the guy in front of me got caught, and they took his memory card.
