creators of TMNT became friends with Stan Sakai and they did some crossover comics, Usagi also appeared in the old cartoon, but the directors of it (eastman and lairds had little to do with the 80`s cartoon) gave him the same name as the comci " Usagi Yojimbo" but yojimbo just means bodyguard

hehe got a point there. but bunnies are cute and often not associated with warfare, its more weird to have a fighting rabbit than a fighting turtles/rat in my opinion

The rabbit is actually part of a sort of cross-over between TMNT and his own books. Type Usagi Yojimbo into Wikipeadia sometime and see for yourself.
