No, that really IS Corrine Orr--she just forgot the vocal inflections over the years, but it's really "TRIXIE". And, yes, that is ALSO Peter Fernandez. In this case, he pitched his voice a bit higher (he was 78!!!), but that IS him. So, yea, GEICO got the Bona-Fides for this ad. ('sides, Veronica Hart, a.k.a. "ASH" is kinda country-western, vocally--see "THE SLAYERS"). No, this is REALLY "Speed" and "Trixie"--one more time, 37 years down the line.

Nope. Trans-Lux originally produced it (a.k.a., American International TV's second wing). DiC did not exist in 1969. (this "old kid" should know!! I used to watch "Speed Racer" religiously after school back-in-the-day)

But, only 20 years after the fact. Let me show you MY age: When Speed Racer originally came on, the TRANS-LUX logo was plastered directly over the image of Speed running to the Mach 5. On the later DiC--and video--versions, that logo is gone!! On the spinning wheel, the title spun-out into a white graphic(standard on anime imports at the time--see ASTRO BOY or KIMBA) saying "Speed Racer copyright 1967 Trans-Lux". The new DiC version has the current red logo.

The "Bedroom Window" logo from '95. It was about that time that DiC acquired "Speed Racer" and began showing it on MTV (which is where most current fans saw it first). MTV ran it at night, along with AEON FLUX, mainly because of the violence in Speed Racer (outside of the DiC logo after the show ended, all the episodes were the same as I saw them back in the '70s--same American versions, with "everything" intact (as edited by Titra Prods. back then).

The weirdest geico commercial that I remember during that time though featured a guy and a waitress at a diner where the guy get a sandwhich and says to the waitress "Oh uh I didnt want mayo," then she takes the top half and wipes off the mayo by using the table.
