This guitar is modded not customized. Unless i misunderstood and you bought it as a custom and did mods to it, either way, its still a modded guitar. Either way, i think you ruined it with the gems, but i like how they get smaller and smaller its creative.

Not for me, but then again, I don't play in a glam band. I think for what you are going for, it turned out very nice; I love the color. I wonder why you chose to put a single coil pickup into that big humbucker hole; wouldn't it be possible to wire it up so that you could split a humbucker into single coils like they do on some strats? I'm assuming you just went this rout for budget and if that's the case I say "welcome to the club."

This single coil is actually a "stacked" single coil pickup, basically this means that it has to coils on top of each other to eliminate buzz kinda like a humbucker was ment to do in the first place.. This means it has a fatter, rounder sound than a standard single while it still retains the typical singlecoil/strat sound.. Pretty much perfect for little wing etc etc.. It sounds a lott better than any other pickup I`ve tried for this purpose.. After having played and owned lots of guitars I..

Why? Dean Cadillacs are beasts. This one was gorgeous. Why did you do that to it? I hope you realize that you just slaughtered the resale value. You'll be lucky to get 100 bucks if you sell it like that.

Three reasons why I`m not worried about the resale alue:

1. It was bought as a really good workhorse that can take a LOT of beating, without being too expensive to replace if it actually broke

2. I usually don`t sell guitars even if i buy new ones.

3. These gems come off without permanent marks because of the mild adhesive that is used.

So if I wanted to sell it i could easily put it back to it`s original condition, but that is not likeliy to happen because i like the guitar too much..

It`s got the most stable tremolo (custom made ballbearing that they used to make themselves) I`ve ever played.. also own guitars with Floyd Rose and Ibanez`s lo pro edge systems but neither of them compare in terms of tuning stability, even thoug they`ve been carefully set up:) Really nice patent from Vigier, to bad they don`t make their own systems these days, in stead they use ballbearing Floyd Rose tremolos..

I own a LOT of guitars and have also sold a couple, and the caddy is by far the most "playable", it`s also got a real good tone for classic rock and metal.. Probably a Ml or a Cadillac. I like the new Dean ML 3000 ( trans dark red or trans black vernish) with Original Floyd Rose. The Dean Cadillac Kill new model is pretty nice too.

Yes actually, the guitar has a built in coil tap on both the originial pickups but it does`t generate anyway near as beatiful tone as the YJM pickup. Of course there may be some humbucker that will sound like it but this was the pickup i had at hand. I should probably have colour matched it to the humbucker but this is a working guitar for me, not one i try to keep in pristine condition or anything. The weird about this guitar is that it seems to sound better now that it`s been abused on tours..

Maybe someday I`ll take them all off and repaint the guitar in some colour most people will find awful, like signal green or something:) At least it is apparent from all the negative comments that this actually makes people feel something:) Too bad all the most popular regular guitars are so damn boring..
