All reports indicate that al qaeda is operating at an extremly low level in afghanistan. there are way more operatives in somalia and pakistan and yet we have been succesfully killing leaders in those area's with special forces so why have so many troops in an area when the forces were we fighting there have moved to other locations.

It just doesn't make sense unless al qaeda isn't our target.
