If my parents or sister post anything like this about me, I'm gonna do the same to them :3 I always resent the attention unless I let someone see something.
Kids needs to make the choice as long as they know what they're doing. I agree kids and older people need to look to the future and see that the internet is here and it is not going anyware.
You should keep your children's lives private until they're old enough to make the decision of whether or not they want certain things to be public for themselves.
In my opinion, if younger kids are introduced to technologies such as the computer then they will likely grow up to be in a higher level of intelligence in their classes. For example, I began using a computer at the age of 2 and I do think it has helped. I'm not sure about the whole sharing the baby pictures thing though. Well, the impact on a child all depends on how much information the parents are sharing and how much the child is exposed to the technology and social responsibilies.
I I think that's not a good idea to share the kids life online.Just imagine,One day when you grow up(or you've already grow up),and suddenly someone grab a picture and say "Look at you!You looks stupid when you're a kid!Look at your face! You looks like a nerd! What about your di*k?It' damn short!
I think having a child grow up in technology will get them into technology, or at least for that matter knowledgeable of the technology that the world is evolving into. If that happens, there's a better chance at kids growing up overall smarter and possibly getting a job in technology, and technology has a lot of job opportunities for people, so I think it's a good thing. I blog, I'm 13 myself, and I find staying up to snuff with technology is very important.
when i was young i hated my photos on the internet, so if your a vlogger, don't put your kids up there! they hate it!! they may not react because they do not know what is goin on!
I expect most parents natural instinct is to protect their offspring.... That said,, This subject of how much loss of our family private life we share/exposure to others worldwide via the internet is one that I and probably many others have lost sleep thinking about.... Your views and comments Chris appear to me to be very sensibly and mature :) :) Thanks Chris :)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The person asked Chris Pirillo,'....how might you approach kids on the internet?'
He fucking grooms them, all fucking day! Is that viewer asking your advice on how you groom kids Mr Prickillo? hahahahaha...I'm snorting with laughter here.
That's why his wife doesn't want kids with him because she knows all about his history of grooming kids online. That is why he is always nice to kids on the internet and puts their videos into his favorite section!
Not advisable. Post about yourself and your baby of 2 yrs and under, and let your child decide what photos they want to post when they can do it for themselves.
I think some people who say they act more mature then their age are just looking for acceptance and attention. hahaha there was a guy in the chat room that said he was 16 but acted older. I'm 15 but I know that guy is full of shit. I can see him as a fat loner sitting at his computer who thinks the only reason he doesnt have friends is because he is better than everyone. LOL
I have three young children, 2 girls aged 9 and 4 and a son aged 6. On my Youtube channel I have featured my children in a few of my videos to the extent that I get quite a lot of my "Youtube friends" asking about them. I think this question is very interesting and has made me think about what I have done, however, as you mentioned having children is a joyous experience, my children are my life as is my wife and to know me is to know my wife and children.
I guess a certain amount of exposure of your kids is fine. But things like having entire blogs about them is over doing it. Just mention what they did in your own blogs, and keep your kid in as a background character.
Then when the kid is old enough to decided for himself, he can choose to start his own blog and get full publicity. But by no means should parents do that when the kid is too young to understand it.
Should Parents Share a Kid's Life Online? No. Do parents follow children to school everyday and spoon feed them until they're out of college? No. Children need to learn from their mistakes, or they never will.
I know a person. He is 15 years old and his dad will not allow his image to appear on the internet until he is 18. I do think in the world we live in now that that is a little unfair.
My advice is to think twice, three times before post (upload) anything to internet and share with friends or everyone. Or, prepare for the future consequences of your acts (The Law of action and reaction).
Ive never been disrespectful or rude online, but I guess that's just the way ive been brought up. To me, you should act the same online as you do offline. Its my 22nd birthday on friday 19th so I won't be classed as young anymore. :)
I think it would really be good for kids to not be exposed to, too much at such a young age. But from a 16 year olds view, It would be REALLY annoying.
This is a really controversial thing... deciding something for your kid who is too young to make the decision for themselves. Parents definitely should not post things on their children on the internet... if the kids want them there, they can go post them themselves.
It's awesome that Chris has brought attention to this issue and is looking at both sides very objectively. In today's world sharing info is the norm, but should be done responsibly. I believe that the majority of people can interpret information without making a big deal out of innocent things like children being funny and such. It is also important for parents to know what their children are doing online, both to safeguard them and to show them that they are interested in their lives.
No, it is wrong. It is unfair and not safe. Parents are to selfish as it is. Its bad enough that parents want their kids to be raised by the state, schools and TV, and now the internet. Family needs to be respected and sharing family moments to anyone is disrespectful. Its fine if you want to share yourself but not kids who have no say in the matter. Your childs life is not yours to give away or to share with noun family members.
well. i dont think it a good idea. it still a risk to have kids on the net and youtube is 1 of not a safe place. not to long ago youtube bust some sick guy on youtube.

As parents, we all want to protect our children when they go online.
Thanks to advances in technology this is getting harder and harder to
do. Internet predators are getting smarter and so are children. When
you buy parental security software, you have to update it on a regular
basis and monitor new websites to ensure nothing gets past the
program. Thanks to SnipeSlider, it no longer has to be this way. This
handy program works (and continues to work) as a key to the Internet. Snipeslider, com
