Playing the same character for over 20 years whole moves are pretty much the same all through the years is a huge advantage vs playing a new character where you only have a short time to learn all of the variables - I know for I know Ryo, Robert and ANdy from KoF and Fatal Fury/The Art of Fighting before them too. I did play SF1 and the SF2's.
@cwilbr It's true, no matter how good I get with any of the characters there is an ingrained sense of understanding I have with Ryu and Guile since I've been picking them since I was 7.

... as we have seen in a game that little more than a rumor? Based PURELY on the background and the given styles of the characters, TxSF would be VERy one-sided in SF's favor if they just threw the characters together, mugen-style.

@shokiajaden Apparently you've never seen ALL of Daigo's matches, including the ones back in 2004 when he played 3rd Strike. He almost NEVER used a Hadoken. @shokiajaden First, Ryu and Ken are easy to use, but not easy to master. Every character aren't easy to master. Mastering a character contains more than throwing a hadouken. Second, Daigo is spamming hadoukens as a technique. I use that technique sometimes too. When needed, I tend to spam hadoukens lore the opponent and bring him to the zone I want him to be. If you see his video back in 2004 of third strike, he use the same technique to bring Justin to the zone. You need to play more hours kid.

NEITHER Tekken or Street Fighter is realistic whatsoever, but that isn't the point. The point is to have fun. I think Street Fighter is based more upon strategy and predicting your enemies movements whilst Tekken is based more upon rhythm and speed. I love them equally but MVC2 will always be my favorite.

There is no comparison of styles, keys, combos, supers, etc. Street Fighter is the father of all fighting games, its popularity (arcade and console) overcomes any other fighting franchise. More popularity means more competitiveness and then better players .

you know very little about video games. more moves doesnt alwasy mean good strategy. Tekken requres memorizing. there is little psychological play. but in SF4 you must have Big Balls and higher IQ to beat a good opponent. you dont need 100 combos like Tekken.

Those peeps complaining about Daigo's cheap technique should go try it themselves. I can guarantee you wont have the result results as he does. Daigo skill level is out of this world.

I want a fighting game which has proper fighting styles since i don't really like fireball fighting in SF (I'm looking at you sagat) But Tekken is a button masher and Tekken 6 was one of the most pathetic games I ever had the misfortune of playing.

@shokiajaden Apparently you've never seen ALL of Daigo's matches, including the ones back in 2004 when he played 3rd Strike. He almost NEVER used a Hadoken. And I half-ass agree with your statement about Ryu and Ken being easy to use. They ARE easy to use, don't get me wrong. However, just because a character's easy to use, doesn't mean they're easy to master.

@shokiajaden First, Ryu and Ken are easy to use, but not easy to master. Every character aren't easy to master. Mastering a character contains more than throwing a hadouken. Second, Daigo is spamming hadoukens as a technique. I use that technique sometimes too. When needed, I tend to spam hadoukens lore the opponent and bring him to the zone I want him to be. If you see his video back in 2004 of third strike, he use the same technique to bring Justin to the zone. You need to play more hours kid.

If you want something realistic, go fight someone in real life. We play games to have fun. No matter how realistic you think they are, no professional fighters practise by playing SF, Tekken, UFC Undisputed, etc.

I sort of bounce between tekken and street fighter . what I don't like about tekken is if you get hit in the air, yu dead fool! but what I don't like about street fighter is the impossible moves. Tough call but I'm more about street fighter now since tekken 6 home version really f'd up for me.

NEITHER Tekken or Street Fighter is realistic whatsoever, but that isn't the point. The point is to have fun. I think Street Fighter is based more upon strategy and predicting your enemies movements whilst Tekken is based more upon rhythm and speed. I love them equally but MVC2 will always be my favorite.

Hahaha, asking Daigo to play tekken is like asking a Judo black belt to try a Boxing tournament. There is no comparison of styles, keys, combos, supers, etc. Street Fighter is the father of all fighting games, its popularity (arcade and console) overcomes any other fighting franchise. More popularity means more competitiveness and then better players .

@chilenozo That is where you are wrong. Tekken takes alot more skills because there are more moves you have to perform and u have to pin point attacks more because they can come from anywhere. Plus its realistic. Street Fighter is coo, but it has nothing on Tekken. Also there are Tekken competitions everywhere

@frenzii3s I think its the other way around. When u play ppl who are actually good in Tekken. They will perform a chain combo and mix it up so u wont know if they are gonna finish, or stop. Plus tekken has more moves so theres more strategy involved. I like SF, but Tekken takes a bit more skill 2 me.

you know very little about video games. more moves doesnt alwasy mean good strategy. Tekken requres memorizing. there is little psychological play. but in SF4 you must have Big Balls and higher IQ to beat a good opponent. you dont need 100 combos like Tekken.

Let's face it, pal. You can debate the 'reality' of games and -why "X" game is better because it looks more "realistic"-, but what it boils down to is:
Tekken is bad. It's not as good as SF, and probably not even Guilty Gear or some other anime fighter. So little people even play Tekken in a professional or arcade scene.
It's laughable. It's popular amongst button mashers. It's probably the 'Halo' of fighting games

...or MvC2. And even then, it's played more in the U.S. than Tekken is.

I wonder how good Daigo would be at Tekken. SF isn't very complex as far as the variety of moves you can perform and often relies on flashy specials.
