She has been known to attract female viewers, and, with no offense greatly intended, Oprah got many female viewers pissed with these race-baiting comments. Yes everyone has been free to vote by law, I'm sure they all get that. Everyone has been free to get elected by law. However you have to understand that freedom lies very strongly in hearts and minds. When Oprah says that 'we are free' she means that 'we no longer feel restrained. we no longer feel the burden of nonacceptance. We feel that we can make a difference'. A black man and a woman being in that position for the FIRST time shows that no woman or black man felt they could do that before.

So how do you get this to change? By not voting for anybody? Or do you look at what candidates you have, what they are offering and choose what you think is best? Obama has claimed he'll listen to the people of America so you might have more of a chance to be heard than usual if he truly does what he says he'll do. You have to make yourself heard though.

Why were there nearly 4800 lynchings in America between 1880-1952? If we've been free for so long, why did Jim Crow flourish with impunity for over 100 years after the Emancipation Proclamation? And why has it taken over 200 years to even elect a Black president?????
