the trees, at the start, bythe road,my granddad (im not kidding by the way) planted every single one of those trees. He did quite a lot in laindon, gardening wise anyway. I live 5 mins from it, i used to live there, its a dump, absoloute dump.

What saddens me is 20 years ago people were decent there but nowadays most people that live there are scum, especially on the Craylands, Laindon and Felmores (specifically Winstree they're all animals there, Bartlow End, however, is very nice with some very nice people) estates. I'm NOT saying everyone is scum in Basildon as there ARE some decent white folk left there but the rest are fucking vermin that are unworthy of life.

Compared to some towns basildon is actually very green and pleasant in most areas but Laindon is a shit hole, the only other estate that is worse is felmores (higest crime rate in Basildon. I should know I lived there since I was a kid (hopefully not for much longer). langdon hills is really nice though.

I find it quite funny that most of the people posting about how great Laindon is, are all completely illiterate and cannot even form a sentence together properly, It says something for the town of Laindon that all the people from there are complete retards!!

Laindon is not a nice place to live at all! If you really think it is, you need to get out more! Its one of the worst places to live in Basildon. The biggest housing estate is nicknamed "Alcatraz" by locals, and there is lots of knife crime in the area which the under-resourced police service can't do anything about.

Behind Laindon Link there was the aeroplane park, so-called because there was a old fighter plane put there for kids to get cut on and shit in, these new town planners had a great sense of humour, man.

Yup. There has been a new estate there since the mid nineties. I knew those garages well. but alas... Brendon: Gone. Most of the lower part of somercotes: Gone. Rest of somercotes: Gone and renamed.

A mate of mine was working on the site re-developing the laindon-shopping-center-side-o­f-handley green and all that recently.

Laindon is indeed a nice place. The only problem is the shopping centre, which is full of empty shops. I believe that, in the end, it will be demolished and a small but more functional shopping area will be built.
