  • Nanci Griffith youtube mix never fails!

  • Townes always said that this was his favorite version of one of his songs "She just nailed it" he said.

  • Two of the greatest female vocalists around. Musical honey.

  • when she starts crying toward the end od the song brings a tear to my eye every time..she also breaks down during Fort Worth Blues...

    RIP Townes

  • My favorite singer, songwriter, performer......had the thrill of crossing one item off my "bucket list" when I saw Nanci perform in Agoura Hills, CA last year . Yes, Nanci ...I was the one standing up in the dinner crowd singing along with you to almost every song ! You are a truly inspiring!

  • My favorite singer, songwriter, performer......had the thrill of crossing one item off my bucket list when I say Nanci perform in Agoura Hills, CA last year

  • Townes most emotive song

  • what I find amazing is the talent that sits in awe of Nanci singing this powerful song. Rodney Crowell, Lyle Lovett, Guy Clark, Emmylou, Steve Earle, I am sure I missed a couple. Fantastic.

  • CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THIS VIDEO...............

  • does this bring a tear to your eye like it does mine?

THe guys a great singer and it will be in his repetoire soon ! Ya cant keep a class song down !

  • Awesome, the best version of this song i've heard yet, a fitting tribute to a great talent, especially at this time of the year. Thanks for sharing it :)

  • Excellent song. What a great tribute to Townes Van Zandt!! Lots of the greatest musicians up there. Thank you for posting.

  • Truly a definitive performance of what has become (along with Townes' Pancho And Lefty), an iconic piece of american musical storytelling. Thank you for sharing this.

  • I wonder if it ever crossed her mind that she would touch so many souls with this tribute to Townes. To me and as i understand this song belongs in a way to Nanci. So very greatfull this and so many other tune i've found are around on youtube. To the folks who own royalty rights. I've purchase several downlowds of songs and a few dvds because these songs were around to witness.

  • When I watch her sing, she seems to be "seeing" caroline, "seeing" what she is singing...I'm blown away...At times I wonder if the tears a welling up in her eyes...maybe it's the magic of her performance...implying..."Nanci" I've already downloaded Tecumseh valley by yourself. I pray this video will stay awhile

  • What show is this from? i would love to have this

  • what a great combination Nanci and James Hooker make. His [jameses] contribution to this video is massive. Great song, great singing and great playing.

  • You're quite right - James & Nanci, the song, fellow musicians sitting there, the tribute to TVZ, the overall atmosphere - all combine for a beathtaking performance.

  • Her delivery of the word "daughter" at 4:56 gives me chills...absolutely breathtaking performance...

  • Wow, very nice video.

  • She reminds me of Emmylou Harris with her gift of song interpetation. This is a great song!

  • In addition to being a brilliant songwriter, Nanci is the best at intrepeting the music of others. I love her intro story.
