  • Leather man TTi is a bit expensive for me i have a wing-man that i have carried for three months now and i am in aw of this tool leather man as a whole rock.I own several leather man and swiss tool as well...i think i will try the TTi out as well.Keep doing what you do sir great as usual.

  • @reaperone13 Thank you very much for the kind words my friend. Nice one on the Wingman, I would like to try one in the future. Take care.

  • Nice review very informative. I still love my Supertool 200, someone dropped it in my front garden bed in the pouch! I found it, nylon faded tool rusty, but it cleaned up and sharpened up beautifully. No play in the pliers, fully adjustable and still operates smoothly! I didn't know about the date stamping so I just checked mine - 01/97 !! getting vintage haha. I have been thinking about upgrading to something a little lighter though, and these are a pretty good choice it seems. Thanks a lot :)

  • @DeludedManiac Thank you very much my friend. Nice one, the ST200 is a great tool. Good find too, I bet the person that lost it was gutted. Cheers

  • Thats a cool cat sir. I carry my tti every day. Thanks for sharing.

  • @joezbackwith2gatz Thanks my friend, glad you have a TTi, its a great tool

  • Hey no problem, survival in this world is the key :) and your welcome drop by anytime :)

  • @WingiedWarrior Thanks my friend, hope you have a great day, take care.

  • @ColinOutdoors you too :))

  • I've watched this vid 30+ times since November. Love your accent and your videos. Keep it up (=

  • @NJMevec2 Thank you so much for the kind words and support my friend, take care and have a great day :-)

  • I got a gerber flik in june and i have to say im not impressed. I hear so many great reviews of Gerber and the tool i got was not up to expectations, Knife goes dull real quick,, the cutters dont cut something as simple as guitar strings, and over all the build quality felt poor. Lucky i didnt spend too much on it, and i have been seriously considering the TTI, my only question: leaverman display 19 tools for the TTI but only 17 for the wave, is that just the bit kit being excluded on the wave?

  • @Bluetorchproductions Hi my friend, the additions on the TTi over the Wave are the gutted hook on the serrated knife and the cap crimpers on the pliers

  • @ColinOutdoors I might fork out the extra dough and get a TTI then, i found one for £89, The wire crimpers will come in handy for high voltage projects where i need to crimp wire connections etc.

  • @Bluetorchproductions 89 quid is a great price for the TTi, nice find.

  • @Bluetorchproductions WHERE! please tell

  • @gralo5 check your inbox, cant post links on comments

  • just to tell you. i have the 2 bitkits allways with me, no matter where i go ( in my right pocket, where is the smaller pocket for coins, etc. Fits perfectly and doesn't poke to your leg or anything else, much more convinient carrying for the bits than the holster for the multitool. Personally, i use the Mil-Tec (law enforcement multitool pack, which is one of the best and lightest carrying pouches out there!) Nice video, and cool cat. Cheers mate!

  • @QualityCompare Nice one my friend, you are well prepared. Great way of carrying your gear. Thanks for watching, take care.

  • best review i've seen on youtube. Great video !

  • @nirvana613 Thank you very much for the kind words my friend.

  • Now that's a multi-tool :D (cat)

  • @tekknorat LOL, thanks mate, take care

  • great review! keep it up!

  • @shuggarush Thank you very much my friend, take care.

  • are you thee glasgow

  • @wolf9930 Nope :-)

  • @colinoutdoors I meant for something small, light, and easily carried for backpacking/camping.

  • @dertnberny Yes the two I carry are very small light and easy to carry

  • A smiths pocket pal's angle is the same as leatherman's factory angle for the straight edge (I have a surge and a blast) and it has a fine diamond rod to touch up the serrations, and I would imagine the gut hook. Small, cheap, light and effective. Pair it up with a small Sheffield sharpening steel, and you will easily keep a keen edge on your tool in the field.

  • @dertnberny I much Prefer the combination of a Lansky multi sharpener for the serrations and a Fallkniven DC4 stone

  • Very high quality review! Actually, i was looking into getting myself a TTi. Now i believe i am quite satisfied with it. Thank You for your informative and highly detailed videos friend! Keep up the good work!

  • @mr1bushido Thanks my friend, I hope you get yourself a TTi, its a great MT

  • excellent review. I have the aluminum version and am very happy with it. Leatherman should work on their carry cases cause as you put it they are fiddley. If a person handles different multitools the quality is apparent on the leatherman.

  • @Strutingeagle Cheers my friend, good choice on the Charge AL (ALX)

  • Brilliant and very thorough review, Colin. I have a first gen Wave and a new edition Wave. Both are outstanding. I've never been tempted to buy the AL or TI versions...but maybe I am now...

  • @cmonsterz Hi my friend, yeah both versions of the Wave are brilliant, I have both. Probably the best MT on the market. The tti a Wave with fancier materials.

  • Love the detail you go into, talking about the back spring and everything!

  • @MegaSundrum Thanks for the kind words my friend, take care

  • Its a little expensive with not much extra than the Wave, my current outdoor pursuits doesnt find much use for such a tool but hopefully when I get into more bushcraft stuff it would be more useful. Nice review Collin keep up the good work :)

  • @daveswildcamping Cheers mate, I appreciate you taking the time to watch, take care

  • I've given the Lerathermans as gifts, not any as nice as this one though.

  • @Sherri119 Excellent gifts to give Sherri, you are a very kind person, take care

  • Awesome video mate got one of these recently and i love it used it to build all the furniture in my future daughters. Brilliant tool keep up the good work

  • @Pattas29 Thanks my friend, glad you have one too, great MT, take care

  • My cat was 18.5 when he passed it's amazing how long they can live.

  • @P226nut Your cat lived to a grand age my friend, take care

  • Muti tools! because you have options.

    Good, informative video.

  • @xPumaFangx Thank you very much my good friend.

  • Very nice matey :O)

  • @CrazyJase74 Cheers mate

  • oh and lovely cat

  • @vegantrax Thanks my friend, she is a great member of our family

  • leatherman's multitools are awesome

    nice review

  • @vegantrax I agree, cheers my friend.

  • i like it = )

  • @billymayer1000 Thanks William :-)

  • @ColinOutdoors I didnt watch all of it, it is really late and i didnt want to keep myself up too terribly long, you might have said it but which one do you like more? charge or .......erm......i cant think of the other one.... but the other leatherman you used the get the lanyard loop out

  • @billymayer1000 No worries my friend, I do really like the TTi, I often change my mind as for the overall favourite

  • @ColinOutdoors understandable! :-)

  • Very nice review. Leatherman makes a great product. Each time I get to Portland, love to stop by their factory and store. Have you used their juice lineup. Very nice edc multitool.

  • @ramsd1 Thank you my friend. Never had a Juice, hopefully I can try one in the future

  • Thanks for the great review.

  • @millster101 Thanks for the kind words my friend

  • At the start I was like "What? is this the right video?" Nice cat

  • @TheRATPT01 Lol, thank you my friend.

  • Aww ur cat looks so so much like mine, we called her Domino :) :) Kl video as always Colin mate, u made me jealous with the last video tho, hogging the heat from that fire lol, its freezing here right now

  • @MrPhatSlim Thanks my friend. Domino is a cool name, my cats name is Tipsy. Yeah I bet its windy over there, it is here as well, at least it hasn't rained today, makes a nice change

  • I've had this exact one for over a year but didn't know about the hidden lanyard ring! Good to know but I cant say i'll ever use it. Agree with everything you say - I dont regret the purchase as the tool is excellent but the Charge AL or the Wave is better value for money. As to cleaning the diamond file there is a cleaning paste called 'Astonish' which is £1 in Tesco which does a great job on diamond file and fine ceramic rods. I love the diamond file - nothing like it for field sharpening axes

  • @rayakins Nice one my friend, its a great tool. Thanks for the tip on the Astonish cleaning paste, I will give it a try in the near future :-)

  • great review C, I love the "Charge TTi"!

  • @chunkafungus Thanks my friend, yeah its an awesome tool.

  • Great review as always! You are one of few go to guys when it comes to multitools:o)

    Rob

  • @Andersbork Hi Rob, thank you so much for the kind words my friend

  • Very nice review Colin. Very pretty cat also. My roomy has a cat that is orange and white named Tiger that is also 18 years old. O_O take care Ash

  • @QualityKnives Thank you very much Ash

  • Great video Colin, you seem to have a lot of multitools but which is your favourite?

  • @leejones001 Thanks my friend, hmm hard choice, currently its the super tool

  • Good review Colin. Thanks!

  • @MrOneleggedjosh Thank you very much my friend

  • Very nice vid !

  • @morfeusab Thanks man

  • Great Review Colin! Thanks for all your work. Have a great week, Sepp

  • @Waldhandwerk Hi Sepp, thank you my friend, have a great week too.

  • The kitty was trying to help, nice review as usual. Take care and have a great day.

  • @ewtoutdoors Thank you so much my friend, take care :-)

  • @Alfox94 Hi Brad, thanks mate, congratulations on the new job my friend. Thanks for the continued support

  • Colin, I have owned this Leatherman for six months now and you pointed out features I was unaware of. Excellent review as always. Thank you.

  • @dclement7 Glad you have the TTi my friend, its a great tool, thank you for your support, take care

  • Wow, that Leatherman sheath looks cheap. Get a nice nylon velcro ammo holder holster at any local gun shop for about $10. Pretty good ones too. That is what I got after my Leatherman leather sheath broke.

  • @LeathermanFan2 Its not a bad sheath, not cheap either, its well built.

  • Awesome review Colin! Leatherman should seriously be paying you my friend.

  • @1978graham Hi Terry, thank you my friend, ha that would be nice :-)

  • Thank you - good review!

  • @99lunalupis Cheers my friend

  • That is one sweet multi-tool!!

  • @TheWeeLeprechaun I agree, thank you my friend

  • I bought a Wave secondhand that was in basically new condition. Best multitool I've had yet. I connect the wave sheath to my becker necker knife to make a small edc kit that includes a fenix e01 compact light, miniature firesteel, paracord, rangerbands, and a few purifications tablets. The light and firesteel go into those vertical pockets on the side of the sheath. I also have two s-biners attached to the outside because I swear I use them daily for random things.

    Great video as always.

  • @MrMakeveli Nice one on the Wave, great choice of tool. Your EDC kit sounds really good, a very nice set up indeed. Thanks my friend, take care

  • Thanks Colin yet another great vid.

  • @MrBlakeFord Thank you so much Blake, take care

  • Good review my friend. Take care.

  • @hk45shooter Thank you my friend, you too :-)

  • I really liked the design of the case being able to keep the tool open option is a graet idea. hope the cats on the mend soon Col

  • @MrNishi Hi my friend, yeah its a decent sheath, the cat seems much better now :-) Thanks my friend, take care

  • Collin I am wondering what do you prefer, the tti or the alx ?

What I heard is that all outsidetools have one bronze washer with the TTi(so only one at one side) and withe the ALx they have two bronze washers (one each side) so in that case the ALx would be better and that would explain why the file is rubbing against the handle with the TTi.

But the knife on theTTi is a better quality steel.

  • @happymark1805 Hi mate, I prefer the TTi over the ALX due to the scissors, and the adjustable pivots.

The ALX file rubs against the handle scales as well unfortunately. Both are great tools I am happy with either to be honest

  • @ColinOutdoors - still saving for a TTi or an ALx, untill i have the money the bucktool will have to do ;-)

  • @happymark1805 Cool you have the Bucktool, its a collectors piece these days :-)

  • very good, very discriptive. if I didnt own one, id be ordering now.

  • @PHARRAOH Hi Alan, thanks my friend, yeah I rambled on for a bit, lost track of the time, its fun to talk about Leatherman's :-)

  • Very thorough review.

  • @tendollarword Thank you my friend

  • The sheath would have been cool if it had an adjustable strap

  • @MrDeadpool25 I agree mate, still its a decent sheath

  • Great review Colin, i'm hoping to get a surge here soon.

  • @brandonbriggs Thank you very much my friend, nice one, the Surge is a great tool

  • Didn't mind the length for a well done video. Have you considered a SOG multi-tool?

  • @1IdeaAhead Thanks my friend, I didn't realise how long it was till near the end. Yeah been thinking about getting a SOG mt for a while, need to pick one up soon.

  • Excellent vid. Thanks for reminding me I still haven't got my charge. LOL. You haven't tried shaving the cat in the past to see how sharp the blades are? That might explain why she was a bit upset. :) When I finally get my charge I'll do a quick quality control inspection, fingers crossed it'll be all good.

  • @351xb1973 Thanks my friend, hope you pick yourself up a charge in the near future. Lol, not tried shaving the cat, she would go mental lol.

  • @ColinOutdoors Charge TTI should be here in a couple of weeks. Mate of mine is bringing it with him from the US. The way the mail is here at the moment what once took a week is now taking a month for some reason so it's quicker to wait for him to fly to Australia than for him to post it. I ordered the leatherman torch off an online site today so it can sit in the side of the sheath. That's the plan anyway. Often find myself looking for a screwdriver, knife or torch at work.

  • @351xb1973 Nice one my friend, I like the look of the Leatherman torches, I may try one in the future.

  • Another excellent review brother!

  • @condor5x5 Thank you very much Condor, take care my friend

  • I like the Charge. looks like a nice super tool. thanks for sharing.

  • @pedalpusher101 Thanks my friend

  • Ha ha! Brilliant! I have an older version with a mostly leather sheath. But, I never noticed the horizontal carry until now, nor did I realise about storing it, pliers down.

AND, I've just noticed I've got a retractable lanyard ring which I never knew I had.

    You're a genius Col :-)

  • @oldhairpin Nice one my friend, glad I pointed some things out that helped you, I do like the all leather sheath, used it for a couple of years and it has never let me down. Thanks for the support, take care

  • I lost my wave in the woods lucky I found it I had it side ways carry and the button came unsnapped I'd like to find a way to some sort of marking on it maybe put some orange tape on it

  • @nightwalker2830 Sorry to hear your Wave fell out, glad you found it, maybe a bright lanyard could help incase it happens again?

  • Another excellent review on a great tool! Thanks Brother!

  • @intenseangler Thank you very much Bro

  • Colin, you are the multi-tool king. Great review, lots of detail and knowledge gained by experience. Thankyou.

  • @AussieMark909 Hi Mark, thank you so much for the kind words my friend, take care

  • Great review as always! I just picked up a Gerber Suspension,it's a decent little tool

  • @CutleryNovice Thanks my friend, great choice on the Suspension, I think its a pretty good tool as well :-)

  • @ColinOutdoors I don't understand why people thrash Gerber tools so much,I've used several brands and Gerbers work as well as the next tool

  • @CutleryNovice I agree, on some aspects I have been a little disappointed with Gerber but overall there tools work and work well.

  • @ColinOutdoors Well every tool has ups and downs I guess,I loved the Powerlock it's pliers were stronger than any other MT I've used but I didn't like the weird driver like tool it has,I liked the Leatherman Wave but it was uncomfortable to use any exterior tools, the Suspension problem is the awkward grip when using the pliers, but overall they're all great

  • @CutleryNovice Some brilliant observation points there my friend. I agree with the Wave being uncomfortable when using the exterior tools. I think the Suspension handles are a bit tool wide when using the pliers also. Do you find the lock release tabs to be uncomfortable when using the tool? I think they are a bit too sharp.

  • @ColinOutdoors I do agree with you there ,they tend to start cutting into my fingers when I use them constantly, definitely not as comfortable as the lockback on Leathermans or SOGs ,I guess I could try filing them down with the diamond file on my Wave,my favorite feature on the Suspension is probably the Fiskar scissors,I prefer them to the small ones on the Wave/Charge series (the ones on the Wave/Charge are still great though)

  • @CutleryNovice That sounds like a good idea to file them down. I think the scissors are pretty good and to be fair to Gerber, the best scissors I have on any MT have to be the Flik scissors, similar to the Suspension but bigger.

  • @ColinOutdoors I love the Flik tool I want the Flik Fish for my tackle box, although I'd prefer a clip point blade but at least the blade it has is razor sharp and easy to sharpen ,I really want to try the Gerber 800 Legend

  • @CutleryNovice Yeah I am not a huge fan of the blade on the Flik, no belly. The 800 looks like a beast, never held one buy I may try it out in the future

  • @ColinOutdoors I love the Flik,I want the Flik Fish for my tackle box,I also want to try the Gerber 800 Legend

  • Good review. Do you feel that the crimpers weaken the pliers or get in the way? Also i love the energy you have had in your past few videos.

  • @callorimr Thank you so much my friend, Personally I don't think the crimper weakens the pliers but I do find it can get in the way sometimes, not a deal breaker for me though

  • Great Video as usual… I haven’t read through the comments to see if this has been addressed but I would like to point out one thing missed, or at least, I did not catch it if you did mention it… That is: at the base of the small bottle opener / can opener is a V-Notch… That is a wire stripper, used to cut around the insulation of electric wire… Again, Great Video!!!

  • @skiball2001 Hi my friend, thank you, yeah I did mention the wire stripper on the bottle/can opener, can't say I have ever tested it though, take care

  • Another great vid Colin. All your talking about leatherman has me interested in buying one myself. Any suggestions for a first purchase?

  • @jt76801 Thanks my friend, well there are many great options out there, Perhaps have a look at the Blast or Wave :-)

  • Great review colin as always the multi tool master lol. Deano

  • @12345macka Thank you so much for the kind words as always my friend

  • @ColinOutdoors your welcome mate. deano

  • As I have said before I have the TTI but have had it years must have got it when it first came out. Main blade 154cm steel can be sharpened to shaving sharp no gut hook on the other blade, but the warranty in the UK is excellent can't be better my scissors broke the thumb plate off, sent just the tool away and got back within one week a new boxed TTI so I have spare tools sheath ect will look to see if the lanyard ring pops up from the saw blade and let you know Colin. As always great talk thro

  • @38MarcW Hi Mark, sounds like you have the Charge Ti if it has the 154CM blade, its one of my favourite tools. Wow sounds like the warranty service worked great for you, nice one my friend, thank you for the great information, take care

  • I've yet to invest in a decent multi tool, I'm holding out for something revolutionary and within budget, or maybe second hand lol. Nice review.

  • @kardredren Thanks my friend, second hand is a great way to go, if its busted and its a Leatherman, send it too them and they will sort you out :-)

  • Best break down ever. I had a part break out of my Wave and I left it at my local hardware and had it back in a matter of days, it pays to buy quality tools. GB

  • @noquie1 Thanks GB, I really appreciate your support. Glad your Wave was sorted :-)

  • Wow, such a long and thorough video about my - so far! - favorite Leatherman multitool :)

I like how many hints and tricks you pointed out. It's hard to pick those up by yourself and you kind of stumble upon them if you happen to roam multitool oriented forums and websites :)

Also, I would like to add that I personally like the grip comfort of the TTi scales very, very much! When I was choosing between the Charge TTi and the Wave, the grip comfort won. I read the Wave was kind of sharp-edged?

  • @fisbyte Hi mate, thanks my friend, yeah the video went longer than I thought, I still missed things lol. I agree the Charge is more comfortable when using the exterior tools than the Wave. Plus the huge benefit of the charge and wave is the comfort when using the pliers as well. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video my friend, take care and I hope you have a great weekend.

  • Awesome review. Thanks

  • @fiveseven76 Cheers for the kind words my friend, take care

  • I suppose now I'll have to do a video response...

Right away, we can see the +'s & -'s of the snap closure. You know when it's closed, but absolutely no room for adjustment. Great tip on how to sharpen the rescue hook. Will remember that. Try a chunk of bike tire on that file to remove the grit. Works for me. Great breakdown of the MT, Colin. 1st rate. Hope you have a great weekend, my friend. Peace on you.

  • @sabr686 Hi Sabr. Thanks my friend. You are spot on with the button snap, no room for adjustment. The sheath you use I really like. I may have to get one for this in the future. Great idea with the bike tire on the file, I shall give that a try. Take care and hope you have a great weekend too my friend.

  • The large screwdriver is not as strong as i believed, mine broke and I could see how little metal there was around the "mechanism"

  • @TheGuyWithAWeirdName Thats a shame my friend, sorry to hear that I hope Leatherman fix it for you

  • that's the best sheath Leatherman do. had the others not a big fan of those molly sheaths the velcro doesn't hold for long got to get me a charge.i use the sheath vertical on the wave fits nice. nice work Colin.

  • @gylanunderhill Thanks my friend, cheers for the info on how you find the sheath, initially I wasn't a fan but its growing on me more and more, take care

  • Also, great tip about removing the lanyard so you can use a removable lanyard hole AND pocket clip. And thanks for showing the year of production on the inside, I’d never seen that before. Very thorough review mate, nice one! Have a great weekend.
