  • @helmutvillam that i agree with. The east coast is full of naval history, it would be awesome to have a museum of all the vessels.

  • @rzid ...oh but LA does ? ...yea that makes sense....

  • @andrewrech11

Manhattan does, alongside Intrepid with the various historical aircraft and the Growler. What a museum that would be.

  • Glad she is out of there. The Bay area doesn't deserve this ship.

  • I was hopeing that it would go to Vallejo. But, better L.A. than the scrap heap. Long live all Iowa class battlewagons!

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting. I got some pics from the move, but didn't get out that far on the bridge in time.

  • Awesome video! Glad someone was there to record this. You never get to see a battleship up this close from this view. Thanks to all of the battleship sailors, those that serve our country and our best to the families of the 47 sailors that lost their lives in turret 2 of the Iowa.

  • Thank you for posting this!! My husband served on the IOWA from 85-89...wish we could have been there to see it in person. We will walk her decks in JULY 2012!

  • Great video, was honored to serve on this great ship from Jan 88 - Oct 90. It means alot being able to see her get out of the mothball fleet. Thanks again for sharing this video. I'm sure alot of ex Iowa sailors will be looking at this.
