this place is really creepy, i have bben into paranormal investigating and have in to several "haunted" places, this place by far was the scariest i have been to, from the moment my friends and i walked in there, the batteries from all our devices were drained, this is a belief that spirits are trying to manifest themselves, we heard unexplained footsteps, cold spots, shadows, eperienced light headedness, and having scratches on our bodies that appeared out of no where
the farm colony are the buildings you see from the road. the actual hospital is behind the functioning hospital, you have to go through the functioning one to see it.
my fire dept explorer post is located at seaview are truck and make shift fire house and the building right next to it is so creapy i went up on the lower roof once it was so creapy you could still see the old sergical equipment and when you pass it late at night there are still old lights on inside its so creapy
Your right. The whole gate was knocked down! don't worry, it is easy as hell to get into. the only thing that will get you is the darkness in the buildings cause they cinderblocked the windows and no windows = no fresh air = cold = asbestos = cancer.
they cinderblocked the fucking windows and doors. me and my friends are gona go deep in the cold building to see whats dow there, and basically pay our last good byes to the place
I noticed that they started doing that back in May. I went just in time to get a last goodbye, but I'll probably be going back with a few friends, a chisel and hammer, and a sledgehammer. The buildings will have to collapse if they want to keep us all out. The Farm Colony was my first date; I want to check up on it soon. They have my picture and ID on file, though, so we'll see how that goes. ;-p
me and my friends are going this week with cameras to basically take pics of what they havent boarded yet. and we were talking about going with sledgehammers eventually. get enough kids, itll be easy
Take the ferry to Staten Island. Take the train from the ferry terminal to the Great Kills station. take the 54 or the 57 bus towards Richmond Terrace. Either bus will stop at the functioning hospital, just follow the driveway back to the street, cross the street to the right. The buildings over there are the old mental wards, and there are a few holes in the fence.
I know all about the unfortunate mesothelioma risks... I try not to linger around in them, just go in, get to work, and get out. I'm going to turn photo shoots like these into a life work, so hopefully I'll find some interesting shots.
it got shut down because the workers would beat and abuse the patients...ive been there a couple of years ago and these pictures only do so much justice...its a completely different feeling once your actually there...scary shit ppl
I miss Seaview. That was my favorite place to hang out while I was up in NY.

I've been everywhere but the main complex (well... I was in the functioning part of the complex because they caught me once...)
This was the part off Brielle. From what I know, the Farm Colony is off one of the greenbelt paths past mount moses.

Be careful going in these old places. Asbestos and other dangers abound. They are fascinating though. Imagine what went on in these. :-(.

Wish I could go too Angel. Would be fascinating as hell. Can you message me and tell me what equipment I would need and pointers, etc.?
