I can't get Sage to play with her Kong, though. She just sits down and waits for me to get the treat out for her. People say she has me trained. ;-)

Our trainer thinks she was most likely taken from her mother/siblings too soon and will always need assistance around other dogs. Aside from that though, she's a great addition and I hope things continue to go well with Roxy -- she is very sweet!

Beautiful dog! I've got a white Jack Russell that pulls all the same facial expressions! Hope he settles in well to your home. Although Pit Bulls have a bad reputation, I think any dog or animal for that matter has the potential to be bad if not cared for or loved properly. Yours certainly looks happy & well cared for. Hope you have many great times with him!

Is that a Choke Collar you're using on that dog? I owned dogs for 30 years and one thing I learned is that CHOKE COLLARS ARE FOR TRAINING.
I don't mean to sound like I'm snapping at you, but you should be aware that it is dangerous to use one otherwise. You should have a proper nylon or other synthetic material collar.
I agree with you, but the first nylon collar we bought for her was dangerously loose, so I chose to use a "check" collar whenever we ventured outdoors.

i've been reviewing some of the past comments for this video. all i have to say is don't pay any mind to some of the negative comments people post. it's obvious that these are idiots who either have no knowledge of what they're talking about, or are just bitter people who are set on their views towards pitbulls, staffordshire terriers, etc. closeminded morons. it all comes down to the owners and how the animal is raised. i think it's great what you've done for roxy. she is sooooo cute!

Shocked to see a choke collar on the dog. Should only be used while training and no other time. The mother of my doberman jumped a chain link fence and the collar caught and the owners came home and found her dead.
Seeing how this is a video, I don't see how you can make assumptions about the collar use. The dog is on a porched area and it's obvious there is a person with it - so I applaud their training effors. Sorry to hear about that bad expereince. You should never leave a pet unattended in a yard, because of that as well as other issues.

Pit Bulls are very kind and loving dogs. I work at a Humane Society and can tell you this from experience. Sadly, pitbulls can be manipulated by humans to live a life of aggression and fighting. Who is the evil here? humans, not the breed. Be wary of your conceptions of "aggressive breeds."
In one very prominent dog behavior tests (sorry i can't remember the name of them), golden retrievers and cocker spaniels were found more likely to bite than a pitbull.

I adopted a black lab/pit bull mix myself (Dorey) and my mother was just as scared, although not as rude and blind. Turns out Dorey is the BIGGEST love and the greatest dog. She's gentle and affectionate, loves kids, and even Mom loves her to pieces. Warning: lab+pit bull = VERY high energy levels! ;)

I concede your point. Yet, it is refreshing to see a Pit Bull as a normal dog. The breed has such a horrible reputation. This is a beautiful dog and I am glad she was rescued. THE ENTIRE BREED needs to be rescued. I hope the Vick case blows the whole abuse of breed thing wide open. I don't know how you could control it -- require licensing and pass a psychological test before being allowed to own one?
I have a rescued Pit/Rottie mix. He is a very good dog. Loves people. Because of his breeding, I am very careful with him. He is very strong. He would be better off in a single dog family but I don't know anyone who could provide that for him. There are so many sickos attracted to the breeds that I would not trust just anyone who said he wanted him.

Shocked to see a choke collar on the dog. Should only be used while training and no other time. The mother of my doberman jumped a chain link fence and the collar caught and the owners came home and found her dead.

Seeing how this is a video, I don't see how you can make assumptions about the collar use. The dog is on a porched area and it's obvious there is a person with it - so I applaud their training effors. Sorry to hear about that bad expereince. You should never leave a pet unattended in a yard, because of that as well as other issues.

Roxy is wearing a "check collar" - sounds so much better than choke, doesn't it? - because 1) the nylon collar I purchased is too big for her; 2) we just came back from a walk; 3) I am not leaving her unattended.

NOT agressive dogs rule! That's a nice dog. If only pit bull owners weren't such idiots some times, the race wouldn't have a bad name.
I'd love to have a Rotweiller, but the stigma of having a "dangerous" dog is overwhelming.

Pit Bulls are very kind and loving dogs. I work at a Humane Society and can tell you this from experience. Sadly, pitbulls can be manipulated by humans to live a life of aggression and fighting. Who is the evil here? humans, not the breed. Be wary of your conceptions of "aggressive breeds."
In one very prominent dog behavior tests (sorry i can't remember the name of them), golden retrievers and cocker spaniels were found more likely to bite than a pitbull.

people that make up bull shit stats like 90% of the time putbulls attack ppl... are the reasons these animals are given a bad rap.
You have a amazing looking dog. Bitbulls are very kind by nature and also very loyal. Raize one well from a pup and you will have a loving friend from life.
Any mistreated animals will be vicious by nature. Dont be hating on the dogs breed. Direct your hate at the owners.

I'll tell you what should be banned, Deer! Over 100 people are killed each year due to traffic collisions with deer. This makes the pit bull look like a 4 legged Mother Theresa! As a matter of fact one of those antlered maniacs tried to kill me this morning as I was driving down the road to ignorance.

Cobra? Nobody I know ever got bit by a cobra. They should pass those things out at schools to every kid! Now bathtubs on the other hand, Do you know how many people die every year by slipping in the bath tub? I say ban them! And what about sharks? I know, you have a greater chance of getting struck by lightening than you do of getting attacked by a shark. But once you get in the ocean the odds go up astronomically. Ban them too!

Pit bulls are used in fighting because they contain traits that make them good in the ring such as tenacity, courage, and unmatched affection for people. They were breed to be aggressive to other DOGS not people. In fact dogs that showed any aggression to people were put down. "This led to the breeds overwhelming people friendly personality", speaking of research on pit bulls.

That's fine. I'm not especially fond of poodles or Chihuahuas but I don't go to someone's video and make a comment saying I don't like that kind of dog. If I were to make a comment it would be positive and take into consideration (1) the person who made the video loves the dog very much and (2) no one forced me to watch or comment. I could've chosen to not watch a video about a type of dog I'm not fond of. Hopefully after watching you can at least see how gentle and sweet pit bulls can be.

I adopted a black lab/pit bull mix myself (Dorey) and my mother was just as scared, although not as rude and blind. Turns out Dorey is the BIGGEST love and the greatest dog. She's gentle and affectionate, loves kids, and even Mom loves her to pieces. Warning: lab+pit bull = VERY high energy levels! ;)

Definitely a "pit mix".
The very first photo on the Wikipedia Pit Bull page is of a lovely-lined, graceful looking dog with a build and muzzle very similar to Roxy's.

I concede your point. Yet, it is refreshing to see a Pit Bull as a normal dog. The breed has such a horrible reputation. This is a beautiful dog and I am glad she was rescued. THE ENTIRE BREED needs to be rescued. I hope the Vick case blows the whole abuse of breed thing wide open. I don't know how you could control it -- require licensing and pass a psychological test before being allowed to own one?

I have a rescued Pit/Rottie mix. He is a very good dog. Loves people. Because of his breeding, I am very careful with him. He is very strong. He would be better off in a single dog family but I don't know anyone who could provide that for him. There are so many sickos attracted to the breeds that I would not trust just anyone who said he wanted him.

People who say "That dog is not cute therefore it shouldnt be alive" Should not have ANY dogs, if you have a dog just because its cute, then u made a terrible mistake. Most people get their hunting and other dogs because they are cute which eventually bite other people/dogs because they are bored to death because the owner only have them as a cute toy.
