Interesting. I think I'll use this recipe as the base for Bubble & Squeek. Though I had mashed pumpkin and the corn, peas and carrot mix as well. Though I have trouble holding together the way I did it
this kind of ever so slightly but not really reminds me of Gypsy toast ... or Eggy Bread! :D seriously guys, eggy bread and beans is the best budget meal you can make.
Nice recycling of leftovers! Can we have a one pot chef "leftovers" series? I was wondering if that mixture could be deep fried (in a ball/quinelle shape) at the right temp so the oil doesn't get absorbed. Would that work?
@bravepuppylover9 Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR Mashed Potato Pancakes!
Thanks for the recipe! One question though: As a poor university student, all I have are instant mashed potatoes. Would those work just as well, what with the egg and flour to hold it together? If so, would you cut back on the wet ingredients a little, perhaps?
@zouljiin I would recommend making up the instant mashed potatoes (as directed on the packet) first. Then following the recipe as normal. It should come out more or less the same ;)
@LittleMissStamper I would recommend making up the instant mashed potatoes (as directed on the packet) first. Then following the recipe as normal. It should come out more or less the same ;)
This is the only thing I've ever gotten up in the middle of the night to fix...When I was 55 years old...!! I'm 78 now.........Just couldn't get them out of my mind!
@MenezesMarta1 wait, that translator is really good... what's it called please? I need to tell my friend about it as she can't speak English very well
@CuteTeef I just installed the toolbar google with automatic translation of the page and enable a box where I write in my language and it translates to what I want. is sometimes a translation awkward, but with time we will learn to fix it.
I have taken leftover mashed potatos and made them into patty of sorts for breakfast but this looks great adding the liquid and egg make them more pancake like. Great idea for a party for sure.
@taylort123 There are many variations on this recipe. The shredded potato version is great, but I avoid it as it can be a little fiddly (but I'm lazy like that!) - I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
@MrButterworth24 They are soft like a pancake, but with a slightly crisp surface. The taste is like smooth, creamy mashed potato. They are divine with additional toppings or tasty by themselves ;)
@Dracylium LOL You're not the first person to threaten such things! Just remember, if you want me to cook, you better be willing to wash the dishes afterwards hehehe

at pancake parlor, they added some green stuff in it, it looked like very tiny green onions. what do you think?
SuperEmilyy24 1 year ago 2
@SuperEmilyy24 Sounds like they added Spring Onions (aka Baby Onions or Scallions) - Yum!
OnePotChefShow 1 year ago 2
@SuperEmilyy24 Could have also been chives, they have a lighter flavour than green onions.
