@pnmarina But another logical fallacy is that it seems extremely unlikely, okay, impossible, that the bullet could penetrate the skull and not damage the brain severely in one way or another.
She survived at botched attempted-murder by her boyfriend; he shot through a pillow from about 10 feet away & the bullet lodged in her skull...I couldn't believe it either when I watched it... :-O
