The turin shroud cannot be replicated with any known technology on earth. It shows the face of Jesus and his crucified body and even has his blood on it. Very good point. I have thought that it was very odd that God would punish people who had no knowledge of Good and Evil for a supposed "sin" they committed in a state of ignorance. The Bible says they had no knowledge of good and evil, so why would they listen to god and how could they evaluate his demand they not eat the fruit unless they ate the fruit and developed reason ? But then again, Kant's theory of falsificationism states that for a theory to be considered scientifically valid, it has to have the potential to be proven false - hence the belief in God is not scientifically valid because it cannot be falsified.

Who says they do? Why would they in any ways feel the need to attack us? Chances are, they won't be carbon based, or even breathe oxygen, so our resources will have very little attraction.

Carlin is dead wrong, all his arguments against christianity are strawman arguments, he does not understand that what we call god is an extradimensional entity that we will not be able to understand with the tools and science we have today. I read something once that said we may never meet aliens because to get to that level of intelligence you need to be competitive (Natural Selection at work). And competition among intelligence means advanced weapons. The idea was that once a society discovered E=MC² their days were numbered as a species and star travel would never be developed.
I thought it was an interesting (but depressing) idea on reality.

Very good point. I have thought that it was very odd that God would punish people who had no knowledge of Good and Evil for a supposed "sin" they committed in a state of ignorance. The Bible says they had no knowledge of good and evil, so why would they listen to god and how could they evaluate his demand they not eat the fruit unless they ate the fruit and developed reason ? Prior to that, they would be classified as insane by current law and unfit to stand trial.

But then again, Kant's theory of falsificationism states that for a theory to be considered scientifically valid, it has to have the potential to be proven false - hence the belief in God is not scientifically valid because it cannot be falsified.
(Then again, Kant's theory itself isn't scientifically valid either, because it itself can't be falsified XD)

@ska2808 Technically it has been proven, unlike Creationism. When you say theory, use the scientific definition, an explanation but Gravity is just a theory too. So is the Germ Theory. Are they not proven either? God is not scientific because deities deal with the supernatural. I'm assuming you believe in a omniscient, omnipotent, and omnibenevolent being, such being can not exist logically and we determine existence with our five senses. If your god is outside the five senses, it doesn't exist

Who says they do? Why would they in any ways feel the need to attack us? Chances are, they won't be carbon based, or even breathe oxygen, so our resources will have very little attraction.
Furthermore, we personify them, they may not even understand the concept of killing, or even be capable of it. They might not even exist fully in our four visible dimensions, or exist in ones we don't know or understand.

I think it's fair to say though, the chances of life forms similar to the ones we know are greatest. This has numeral reasons. 1st one is statistical: the only thing we know is that our form of life is possible. So if you'd have to guess, this would ppb be ur guess. 2nd would be that carbon-based life works. Other elements (silicium mostly) are good candidates, but I think carbon: a) is a lighter element --> more common? and b) has formed life in our case, over silicium, so again statistically..

Carlin is dead wrong, all his arguments against christianity are strawman arguments, he does not understand that what we call god is an extradimensional entity that we will not be able to understand with the tools and science we have today. any alien species advanced enough to travel to Earth from another star system would be as powerful as Yahweh. they would have to be at lest level 2 civilization for interstellar travel, and things like seeding planets with life, pilars of fire, resuurecting the dead or walking on water would be easy for them.
