People shouldn't be cheaping out on eye wear anyways. I mean...you're dropping $300+ on a gun, then drop another $100 on useless sht for that gun, so might as well get something that's not crap for your eyes.
well at our sites in the uk it would be fine to were any mesh mask the max fps of a gun is around 450fps and thats a sniper were there 15m behind there players so if you get shot from about 50m away by a sniper it would be fine but no one is going to shoot someone from point blank range with a huge sniper.
Good video, and I'm not trying to sound like a dick here, but how often do you actually take a 450fps AEG directly to the eye from three inches away? I know he said in the event of an emergency, but I would trust mesh goggles in a skirmish.
@SpeedbeetleV2 we do not condone mesh eye wear for Airsoft. We wish it worked. trust us. we airsoft. we would like no fogging too however when it comes down to your eyeballs, you dont need to take the risk. TAS does not condone Mesh Masks for your eyes in airsoft ever never period.
bought a mesh mask many years ago from a "hunting" shop in the UK first time I used it the mesh fell off the rivets holding it in the mask, straight in the bin £15 well spent... i think not,, true ballistic protection for me thank you!
Oh don't get sore you nuts. Facts are facts, this mesh couldn't withstand 450fps point blank. Don't go trying to add variables or insult the person who did the test just because your trust and love in the mesh design is misplaced. You're like children, christ.
@sacr3 The mesh withstood individual shots point blank the full auto with the li po is what shredded it. And if anyone goes full auto at that range they'll be banned on the spot from the site. Facts are facts of course and this test is valid. But interpreting the results as mesh being unsafe is a mistake
@GhostWarriorAirsoft5 The point is to be safe during the worst case scenario. What if you're sitting down in the dead box and someone's gun goes off? What if someone is adjusting their hop-up and shoots you on accident? At least with this test you will know what is safe and what is not...
Well I think in a cqb game where the fps limit is 350 these should be fine....especially since cqb is where you fog up the most. But as far as field use goes, better safe then sorry
you took cheap mesh eye protection i shot my army of two face mask with mesh eye with my 500 fps sniper point blank and it didn't leave a dent or take any paint off plus your not going to get that cqc in a game and if you do your at a cqb field with a fps limit of 350 or 375 something like that
sure the mesh break, but thts becuz he shot the mesh from about less than a foot away. now who would be tht stupid and shoot someone from tht close of a range. try from at least 30 yrds or so. he was jst too close for this experiment.
I recently hospitalised a player in CQB, luckily he is ok now after surgery and having his eye flushed a couple of times. Mesh was to blame. I was using an Excel BB that split on impact. Eye protection with holes in it? Get real. Woodland sure, CQB... No. Wear at your own risk everyone. For CQB you should be using the safest form of protection possible. You only get one set of eyes.
Who wears "mesh" anyways. Now thats stupidity. I always wear shatter resistent lense goggles i did A TEST like this one with 450 fps g36c point black range all it did was scratch it up a bit, so if ur gonna get peppered on full auto for who knows how long, ull need new goggles because u literally wont see out of them with all the scratches.
"quick ASS review" & btw I do not know of a field that allows 450 fps for anything other than Designated Snipers. Your review to be honest... IS SHIT. simple as that
@MrAhwhatthehell your opinon is your opinon however our facts are just that... facts.. you dont have to like the shit sandwhich you just have to take a big ol bite and swallow it down like a big boy. We are experts in what we do. We allow 600fps at our fields in Utah for snipers. 450fps is the norm and most china crap clones have an fps of 400+ out of the box. so take your big ol bite and carry on troop!
@TAS801 I don't think I've ever been shot that much at point blank range. I take mesh over lenses because mesh can't fog. And lens I've ever used fogs up so I use mesh
@GryffinDarkBreed lol? no field has any strick limits where I live... Its M150 spring limit on LMG-s M170 on snipers M120/130 on regular AR-s so its quite flexible
hey, that's a point blank shot with a 450 fps gun. if you use it in an outdoor battle, it doesnt do that. i have combat proven acm-0s that took at least ten shots in a row at once and they didnt go any where except farther in my face.
I love how he tried to make it seem like mesh sucks no matter what the result. Can you say biased? Especially after the second pair, "Yeah, it doesn't look like we got any penetration, but the mask is starting to break, so it'll probably fail eventually." Yeah, 'cause someone is just gonna sit there and let someone unload a clip in their face. That makes sense. Biased video.
Good post. As an arena owner for CQB, I'm going to create a video just like this for our field safety video. This part being why steel mesh is not allowed
THATS FROM POINT BLANK!!!! Say if you were shooting from 20 yds away would you get the same results and are you even a good enough shot to make it to the eye probably not but if you shot from that distance nad if you got lucky enough you would not get the same result so mesh gogels are good but if you were at point blank i dont think the person would let you get that far so I wouldnt say those are bad mesh gogels.
first, the velocity of that gun from how how far away you would be getting shot at would not penetrate mask also people don't take 3 ,8 round burst at your face.
@BagFatsPc its called a pakol and it is afghan and Pakistani. USSF wear these while working with them in the field, and he is a chef, a chef of airsoft death !
@ScottiesVlog go read bitters disclaimer policy. even he knows mesh poise a risk. lets use our common 2 cents that you all have and avoid mesh. TAS does not condone Mesh eyewear at all ever never, thanks for your support.
This guy is a retard. if youre out on the field in an acutal game youre not going to get multiple times in the eye from 100 feet or so. one shot wouldnt have dented it. Jeez, common sense. Also, not everyone on the field will have a 450fps gun.
.. soo why cant i just remove the paint? oh btw tried the same on mine, NO PAINT peeled off even with 420 fps real sword type 56. I love mesh, works perfect for what its designed for, if it keeps your eye safe from being hit i can always buy a new one (they ar cheap too) if it get bent out of shape from a retard unloading DIRECTLY in my face at point blank. which wont happen where i play considering its all disciplined players.
Another problem with mesh is when you play with the newbs that shoot you in the eye at point blank, they are probibly using crappy BB's. Those BB's shatter and you get little fragments in your eye.
Great test video. I'm from Taiwan and have had 14 years of airsoft experience. I have never used mesh eyepro because of the same reasons TAS801 addressed: the paint & BB fragments. Good to see sellers telling truth to customers.
Realistically, if there is an accident in which someone is wearing a mesh goggle at THAT close of a range from someone who has that fps, the chances are it won't be a direct hit, like this, because the accident isn't intentionally aiming at the face. I'm getting these because it's impossible for them to fog and because they do work for their intention. Anyone who is stupid enough to wave your gun around in peoples faces, at point blank, need their guns taken away.
@airsoftking5499 we have seen it otherwise. its a sad day when you have dumbasses who shoot folks in the face waiting for a chrono at an Operation. Thanks for watching .
why would someone shoot something point blank with 400 fps, in CQB there is a 350 fps limit rule and in outdoors there is a 10ft rule and a "bang bang" rule. now testing these at 10 feet would be more realistic
Mesh goggles do work! I wear them all the time and have saved my eyes plenty of time! If you're in the safe zone you're suppose to keep the mag out and put your weapon on "safe". Also the site I play has the max FPS of 350 in UK.
We also have a rule were we don't fire if we are close to each other. We would have to shout "Bang! You're dead"
ur not even allowed at any site to use an AEG of that power, especially at that range...and ur mag has to be out and gun cleared in the safe zone. This would never happen!
OMG thank you for this video were i work and play there are so many people that want to wear these mesh masks or like the army of 2 masks as soon as we see that we either automatically eject them from the field i represent CQB CITY in stockton california.
@FLUFFYKUMAR the army of two masks have a thick steel mesh...they won't break...and nothing like the would ever happen...the gun is 450fps..your not allowed that power on an AEG at the range or any range, you would be breaking the law!
@BlackLegionAirsoftTV that might be very true but regardless my field doesnt allow it at all and we very happy with that still i would never buy mesh eyewear regardless of its strength why becuz my revisions are just perfect
@FLUFFYKUMAR fair enough, its your own opinion. I was just pointing out anywhere i have played or any site in the UK, the limit is 350-60 MAX, and the gun has to be empty in the safe zone. So the chances this would ever happen are really slim here. the army of two masks though a seriously though, they wouldn't break on impact like these, intact probably more dangerous because the bb would shatter and might go in your eye..
@BlackLegionAirsoftTV actually i shouldve mentioned the part where army of two masks would actually be so thick that fragments of the bbs itself would hurt not the mesh itself and my site is 400 max you should check it out ya its a blast just search up milsimjunkie on youtube youll see
I don't like this video because I have the zeros and they have been shot several times not at point blank and haven't even dented, but of course that's not point blank. So the only time you'll worry is if someone comes right up to your face and shoots you multiple times which never happens so from me mesh is a good investmant
ACM goggles range from $9-$15. The Survivor Facemask $10. At that price range I wouldn't trust lensed goggles. For instance, 10 dollar pair of goggles a friend had, the lens fell out mid game. Tested a pair of $15 shooting goggles and obliterated them from close range. All this test demonstrates is that cheap shit is shit. You want good eye protection be it lens or mesh, don't go cheap.
These "safety" goggles performed extremely poorly. I would never trust my eyes with these products. I use shaving cream and coat my goggles to prevent fogging. It works like a charm. Try it before you risk your entire future on a 15$ product...
i for one own the ACM zero and a gen4 'striker' full face mask. ive used the mask and goggles in cqb and field and they both performed without a hitch. i think it necessary to hit them at 450 point blank but you are utterly foolish to call them unsafe. as long as your not playing with a rich bunch of retards while playing id say your fine. so shut the fuck up
i wear glasses so goggles wouldnt fit me well, i think having these mesh eye protection things will fit better and also prevent my glasses from fogging up while sniping.
ill take a slight chance of getting some paint chips in my eye because of someones stupidity, rather then fogging up every 20 second, or having to constantly put anti fog stuff on my goggles/paying out the whazzu for special anti fog goggles.
this is why im afraid to wear mesh eye protection. i wear the mesh lower face mask to protect my teeth, i once got hit from like 100 feet away, the guy was using cheap BBs', so the BB actually broke and some small pieces made it through and cut my skin..now imagine if that hit me in the eye while wearing mesh eye pro?... so i dont think mesh is very safe in general.. Cheap BBs' will break on impact, and will go through the mesh..
I saw a lot of videos like this, showing us, that the mesh protection is not safe. BUT! No one have ever made a video, when you are in real danger. What about not wearing any safety googles? I WANT TO SEE EYEBALLS EXPLODING!!!!!
i've been airsofting in utah for quite a few years and have seen alot of accidents, my personal favorites were a 550 fps sniper to the side of a guys head waiting to be chrono'd or the one where a guy forgot the safety squeezed the trigger and nailed a guy in the face with a 425 fps burst. This stuff happens more than you think
don't cheep out on your eyes fork out a lil cash and get good ANZI rated eye pro
bought these a few months ago and they work like a charm, no fog and super protection. I've gotten a few bb's on the mesh glasses and there's no damage at all! We don't shoot eachother from point blank though :p
But for the sake of the review, That was necessary :)
@SpaRroWzim you are unsafe. fragments from the paint on the mesh let alone penetration from a bb are all very possible and probable.. at least we warned ya.
@TAS801 Wow, he supports you and your products and you blame him for being unsafe for using your products. I think what you're trying to say is don't buy your products because they are faulty and won't work, so I'll listen.
@TAS801 You may have a point, but I think YOU are also unsafe, shooting a gun of that power, indoors, next to glass cases, with safety glasses on and nothing else to protect your face...
for people who wear glasses these maskes make more sense. having glasses causes fog twice as fast so these really help and if something does go wrong somehow the glasses will take the hit
The point isn't to illustrate the stupidity of this video, or the stupidity of players, but that of the eye protections durability/reliability. It is simply to show that even point blank shots cannot penetrate the material... Suggesting that further away shots hitting there would DEFINITELY not penetrate the mesh...
i just have to say that i wouldnt trust ballistic goggles point blank either. ANything you shoot at pointblank has a greater chance of shattering and all this really prove is that utah has a lot of morons.
@TAS801 no i meant morons. those "accidents" only happen when morons form groups. Its really sad that the 12 year olds that play here are more careful and attentive.
@rsviesh so what your saying is accidents happen and instead of putting mesh over your eyes you would prefer ANZI rated ballistic tested eye Pro correct. I would hate to think you are encouraging stupidity.
I have this WWII gasmask, and wanted to try it on airsoft game. Tested with 195m/s shooting sniper multiple times. It didn't break or crack and all those places where I imagined that could pass some "evil" damage trough, it did realy well... So I have to say, that you can use your imagination on your protection and same time look "cool"... But please... Don't test your sunglasses... Your just going to waste some money! Nice video btw!
People shouldn't be cheaping out on eye wear anyways. I mean...you're dropping $300+ on a gun, then drop another $100 on useless sht for that gun, so might as well get something that's not crap for your eyes.

generally, Mesh goggles are great if you hate fogging up.
but safety isnt as great as normal goggles. whereas. My field has rules for people to wear safety glasses under Mesh goggles/ glasses.
which really beats the Unfogginh effectiveness if you're gonna wear fog-prone polycarbonate glasses underneath

TheWolfslairairsoft 2 months ago
why would someone shoot something point blank with 400 fps, in CQB there is a 350 fps limit rule and in outdoors there is a 10ft rule and a "bang bang" rule. now testing these at 10 feet would be more realistic

2005ttr125 2 months ago
ur not even allowed at any site to use an AEG of that power, especially at that range...and ur mag has to be out and gun cleared in the safe zone. This would never happen!
BlackLegionAirsoftTV 2 months ago
And that's why they have FPS limits for AEG's and surrender's within a specific distance!

hey could that 450 fps gun go through skin point blank??? i say u try it.

OMG thank you for this video were i work and play there are so many people that want to wear these mesh masks or like the army of 2 masks as soon as we see that we either automatically eject them from the field i represent CQB CITY in stockton california.
FLUFFYKUMAR 2 months ago
@FLUFFYKUMAR the army of two masks have a thick steel mesh...they won't break...and nothing like the would ever happen...the gun is 450fps..your not allowed that power on an AEG at the range or any range, you would be breaking the law!
BlackLegionAirsoftTV 2 months ago
@BlackLegionAirsoftTV that might be very true but regardless my field doesnt allow it at all and we very happy with that still i would never buy mesh eyewear regardless of its strength why becuz my revisions are just perfect
FLUFFYKUMAR 2 months ago
@FLUFFYKUMAR fair enough, its your own opinion. I was just pointing out anywhere i have played or any site in the UK, the limit is 350-60 MAX, and the gun has to be empty in the safe zone. So the chances this would ever happen are really slim here. the army of two masks though a seriously though, they wouldn't break on impact like these, intact probably more dangerous because the bb would shatter and might go in your eye..
BlackLegionAirsoftTV 2 months ago
@BlackLegionAirsoftTV actually i shouldve mentioned the part where army of two masks would actually be so thick that fragments of the bbs itself would hurt not the mesh itself and my site is 400 max you should check it out ya its a blast just search up milsimjunkie on youtube youll see
FLUFFYKUMAR 2 months ago
I don't like this video because I have the zeros and they have been shot several times not at point blank and haven't even dented, but of course that's not point blank. So the only time you'll worry is if someone comes right up to your face and shoots you multiple times which never happens so from me mesh is a good investmant
invisofupa78 2 months ago
You know it's a good mask if it can withstand real BB gun.
One that shoots metal projectiles.
Yes, that is the best possible, because there are and will be jackasses in any sport.
Yes they will get kicked outta the game if they shoot point blank, but that's not going to bring your eyes back if your mask breaks on cqc.

Try it before you risk your entire future on a 15$ product...
daocommand85 2 months ago
i for one own the ACM zero and a gen4 'striker' full face mask. ive used the mask and goggles in cqb and field and they both performed without a hitch. i think it necessary to hit them at 450 point blank but you are utterly foolish to call them unsafe. as long as your not playing with a rich bunch of retards while playing id say your fine. so shut the fuck up

Im pretty sure no1 is going to shoot me with 450fps gun from 2feet?
cssfreeak 3 months ago
ill take a slight chance of getting some paint chips in my eye because of someones stupidity, rather then fogging up every 20 second, or having to constantly put anti fog stuff on my goggles/paying out the whazzu for special anti fog goggles.
chubbs636 3 months ago
This is why you buy revisions they will stop a bb no prob they have been shot with a .22 rifle at 15 ft and had no penetration

airfraud 3 months ago
this is why im afraid to wear mesh eye protection. i wear the mesh lower face mask to protect my teeth, i once got hit from like 100 feet away, the guy was using cheap BBs', so the BB actually broke and some small pieces made it through and cut my skin..now imagine if that hit me in the eye while wearing mesh eye pro?... so i dont think mesh is very safe in general.. Cheap BBs' will break on impact, and will go through the mesh..

I use a Paintball mask at home... lol :D
Minusthesum 3 months ago
I saw a lot of videos like this, showing us, that the mesh protection is not safe. BUT! No one have ever made a video, when you are in real danger. What about not wearing any safety googles? I WANT TO SEE EYEBALLS EXPLODING!!!!!
That is a real situation....

i've been airsofting in utah for quite a few years and have seen alot of accidents, my personal favorites were a 550 fps sniper to the side of a guys head waiting to be chrono'd or the one where a guy forgot the safety squeezed the trigger and nailed a guy in the face with a 425 fps burst. This stuff happens more than you think
don't cheep out on your eyes fork out a lil cash and get good ANZI rated eye pro

MrBloodkiller101 3 months ago
bought these a few months ago and they work like a charm, no fog and super protection. I've gotten a few bb's on the mesh glasses and there's no damage at all! We don't shoot eachother from point blank though :p
But for the sake of the review, That was necessary :)
SpaRroWzim 3 months ago
@SpaRroWzim you are unsafe. fragments from the paint on the mesh let alone penetration from a bb are all very possible and probable.. at least we warned ya.

@TAS801 just bought flakjag goggles, switching my mesh goggles for em after seeing this
DevilsAirsoft 3 months ago
@TAS801 Wow, he supports you and your products and you blame him for being unsafe for using your products. I think what you're trying to say is don't buy your products because they are faulty and won't work, so I'll listen.
AnthonyTotheRescue 3 months ago
@TAS801 You may have a point, but I think YOU are also unsafe, shooting a gun of that power, indoors, next to glass cases, with safety glasses on and nothing else to protect your face...
switchblade11089 2 months ago
Guys stop being fucking idiots you never know you could get shot point blank with a 500 fps sniper it may never happen but it could...
The thing is this test isnt very good as those too mesh goggle/masks are crap.
The best mesh protection ever is by heroshark and bitter end.
I have had 3 pairs of heroshark masks/goggles and i test a pair .
It took more than 20 shots from a 500 fps sniper point blank in the same place
It also took a 400 round high cap from my 43 rps mp5....
ScottiesVlog 3 months ago
plus if some one shot me that close id put them on the ground pretty fast
TheSkillsmith 3 months ago
for people who wear glasses these maskes make more sense. having glasses causes fog twice as fast so these really help and if something does go wrong somehow the glasses will take the hit

Thats not a bad thing. That really is a bad thing.

The point isn't to illustrate the stupidity of this video, or the stupidity of players, but that of the eye protections durability/reliability. It is simply to show that even point blank shots cannot penetrate the material... Suggesting that further away shots hitting there would DEFINITELY not penetrate the mesh...
SickDistrictChris 4 months ago
easy i put mask on and does glasses thingys to cover the mask and i have double protection! hooray!
xenix146 4 months ago
i just have to say that i wouldnt trust ballistic goggles point blank either. ANything you shoot at pointblank has a greater chance of shattering and all this really prove is that utah has a lot of morons.
