It is possible to get great focus on this camera, but the focusring is a bit hard to use. it has a tendency to go from infinity focus to very narrow focus very fast and it can be difficult to focus on something 5-10 meters out without overshooting the taget focus area. I do not know if that has improved on the S version, but it does excist on my original version. Great tutorial though
If you buy a Canon, you will eventually have to face the factory service center and they will NOT honor their warranty. My HD so-called Professional Camera has been in the shop THREE times in its short 6 month life. They tried to charge me $1,000 because of a defective firewire port. Complete idiots. Defective equipment and a 4 year warranty. I will NEVER buy any Canon product again. Period. Considering it, are you? Save your money ... don't do it. Canon sucks.
@nicolmedia yes because he was using digital camcorder, its something he has to use in order to do tutorials, because his main camera is probably the XHA1s
I just bought a XHA1s for shooting my own films and documentaries and would like to say THANK YOU for making theses videos. They make dummies like me who are new to this seem smarter.
Great videos.... I tried a Sony the other day. It had in manual mode, blue dots (looked that way) on the monitor so you easily could see where the focus where, rather smart I think. Does the Canon also have some visual guidance to quickly let you see where the manual focus is set?
How do you get the memory from the canon to the Mac pro? I need answers ASAP plz

this camera is OVERRATED! Huge focusing problems, even when it
looks sharp thru the viewfinder.
