  • Japan has population of 120 million people.

If Japanese people with same motive as you lines up, at least procession for 40 minutes would be made easily.

    -

  • Besides the Color, What is the difference in the recipe??

  • I think もちもち is like springy, bouncy, rubbery, or spongy. (Probably not a real word xD). I think it'd be something that's really chewy and spongy in the context.

  • HEY!!....U SHOULD GIVE ME SOME OF THA....STUFF UR EATIN!

  • Hi! Mochi taiyaki? Sounds gross. Is it just mochi around the anko?

  • lol "Mystery of out nation"

  • Chewy Taiyaki sounds weird...

  • The texture probably has to do with the fact that it's white.... the brown ones will have been cooked longer, and thus be more pliable. Also, would you recommend brown taiyaki?

  • elastic texture? and thanks for the video, I love making taiyaki and have always been curious about white taiyaki. i want to try to make this for my old sensei

  • i think he wants to say its too rubbery. not a good thing to describe a food.

  • ooo. i saw that that in korea too =DD

  • awesome video :)

  • chewy is the word your looking for. :)

  • i love runny...

    great u got there....

    (^.^)b

  • Squishy perhaps?

  • I think that taiyaki would be better if it was cruchy :D But the regular is nice too.

  • mochi mochi and moshi moshi

  • I wanna eat Taiyaki in Japan so much. In my country, Taiyaki taste quite sucks, and Anko jam is too sweet, briefly...low quality.

  • Some say white Taiyaki tastes good. So I tried this one last week. I just hated both texture and taste.

  • this is secondlife xD hahhahaha xD

  • That part of japan is different than i would've thought of.... i always think of japan as elbow to elbow crowded everywhere.

  • recipe recipe!!!!! :)

  • looks amazing!!

    omg the white looks delicious

  • mochi mochi? hmm meaning chewy instead of crispy?

  • mochi mochi or more like funya funya だ

  • I think i took some bad mushrooms toward the end of this video

  • Mochi-Mochi:I think you can call it ''rice paste cake filled with sweet beans''

    That stuff looks awsome

  • Sou da naaaaa.

  • like not cruchy but not mushi...that's mochi-mochi

  • Hey there~ another great video here.

But actually I got something to ask (and sorry if this is like out of the blue) but may i know where I can get these white taiyaki in Japan? What's the address of the shop that you went to? it's good enough if you can tell me the area...

    Thanks in advance ^0^

    Keep up the good work!

  • White taiyaki has been spreading around Japan so you will be able to find it someday. Kantou & Kansai area, both are available for sure.

  • @runnyrunny999 White takoyaki probally doesnt have egg yolk ,beacause its not yellow .___.

  • were u trying to say chewy?

  • Yep

  • Mmm! I miss eating that. I've never had the white one, but i was just thinking that it looked a bit like mochi before you mentioned the consistency and texture of it. Normally i like to have blueberry or apple filling in there too! : )

  • This one is more like mochi texture. It was good when they get cooler :)

  • cant imagine this bean stuff tastes good

I will have to see when Im in Japan

  • It was better when they got cooler :)

  • ya, but I mean in general this bean cream stuff

tokyo cooney also showed a couple of things, pastries and so on, which have bean in it

    seems weird ^^

  • The first time it looked like it taste like Daifugu dango, but i understand what you mean it's a hard taste to explain..

  • oishii desuka?

  • Hai oishi katta desu.

  • i wish we had cool food like that over here.

alot of the food is so boring in england

  • It's nice to try those things :)

  • hahahaa-- that was pretty funny. your first reaction to eating it and then.. 7 hours later.

  • A lot different :)

  • Taiyaki must be oishii, thats the first I want to try when I visit Nihon ^^

  • You can get them(not white one) almost everywhere :)

  • I cannot buy them here :-(

but anyway there is a Sushi Bar in my near ^^

  • Where can i find that in Toronto!?!?!?

  • I'm not sure if they have one in Toronto...:(

  • there is normal taiyaki at j-town(victoria park and steels) but if the white taiyaki is new in japan then im pretty sure they won't have it in canada.

  • oh man now i am hungry for taiyaki

  • Thanks for watching :)

  • Uwah! It looks kinda weird... but I still wanna try them x3

    Really funny video!

  • I'm glad you liked it!!

  • hahaha.. normally chewy things are good when they are cold..

You're such a funny guy..!! I love your vids.. Have you ever been to Sabah?? that's my hometown.. we have lots of Japanese tourists every year..

Queueing up (Americans say line up.. British say queue up..) is good.. it shows how highly civilized the society is.. heheheheh

  • I've never been to Sabah. I wish I have. It was really good when it's cooler :) That's something new I found as making this video :)

  • You should come and make a documentation of your visit to Sabah.. hehehe.. It's hot over here!!!! it is quite close to Japan even..

  • i want to try them!!!!

  • Thank you for watching :)

  • I like the bean cakes that are covered in seeds.

  • Then you will like this!!

  • looks tasty

  • It tasted good when it's cold :)

  • looks good :)

  • Thanks :)

  • I <3 TAiyaki!

  • Taiyaki rocks :) lol

lol

  • Yeah we love to make a long line and waiting for so long to get something if it's popular...But not me this time :p lol

Banana sounds great! I love bananas :)

  • This video is very cool! 5 star ^_^

  • Thanks for rating and commenting!!

  • My guess is it's while because they just aren't cooking it as long, so it's chewy because it's still partly raw (eww...).

  • They cook the same way but the ingredient is alittle different from trditional ones. I've heard they use tapioka starch for dough.

  • I think you mean either sticky or chewy by Mochi-Mochi

  • Yes I should have used ''chewy'' by mochi-mochi. Thank you for helping me out :)

  • "LOL" I LOVE THE PART WHEN YOU SAY -- i DONT THINK I WONT IN LINE AGAIN -- THATS FUNNY AS HELL --- ROFLMAO--

  • It's just not really worthy for waiting so long to get. Taste OK though:)

  • Do you happen to know what the ingredients of the white kind is made of?

Also, it is true about lines in Japan, I think some people will go to a place that has a line because maybe they think it is better?

At the Krispy Cream doughnut place in shinjuku there is ALWAYS a line...to me it is just a doughnut. But maybe it can be fun to go with friends??? Its a mystery.

Anyways, waiting for your next video, keep up the good work... your perspective is always very interesting.

  • I've heared they used tapioca starch for dough.

I agree with you. This white taiyaki is like people usually keep up with something if it's popular. The taste doesn't really matter unless it's bad. This time I just tried it because I wanted to pull my coat:) Thank you!!

  • tapioca starch...hmmm, i will google it. When I think of tapioca I think of pudding stuff. I will become a master in all things regarding white taiyaki...one question leads to another :p

Im too curious perhaps...I think they should make a pink taiyaki, that would get a lot of women waiting in line. Thanks again^^

  • It's always good to have curiousity:) ''O'' hey they do have pink taiyaki as well. I was gonna get it but I need to order before I get in long line. It's like reservation.

  • Much better to make it cooler dayooooo!

  • why most japanes snaks have sweet beans filling insted of chocolate or cream?

  • Azuki beans is kinda national dish in Japan. It's the same as salsa in Mexico.

  • I had these the other day too, and they seem to be spreading everywhere lately! I'm not a big fan of the mochi mochi taiyaki either... I prefer the traditional ones. I'll try to learn to make both though (since I got a taiyaki maker yesterday)

  • Yes it's been spreading now. I agree with you. I prefer normal one as well. When it's cooler it eally tastes better though. So it seems like You can make taiyaki yourself. You can put anything you like inside then!

  • You japs have the strangest food. Even snake, cow tongue, ice cream! ICE CREAM!

WHAT HAPPENED TO Chocolate, vanilla, etc. You guys took it to a whole new level!

  • LOL Definetely true! We JAPS do have strange flavor on every food categories. Even in Potato chips and KitKat etc...

  • Hey, I dig weird flavours :D They're the most entertaining stuff ever. (Ever tried grapefruit juice with tictac in it?)

  • Tictac?? What's that? Grapefruit juice flavor with tictac in Taiyaki??

  • Uhm, I don't know if you're joking or not (about not knowing what tictac is :D)

Sorry, a bit slow today :)

But... a glass of grapefruit juice with tictac in it. :P

  • No I wasn't... Even if I was it's not funny at all.lol I just don't know what tictac is... It's like frisk in cocacola something?

  • Oooh, Those look good! You're making me hungry again but I'm trying hard to lose weight so I can run!

  • GET SOME for your kids! They'll love it:)

  • It looks neat how they make them. I would try it! The fish shapes are cute.

  • I think their sweet taste is common in all countries. So you will like it!

  • I love the normal ones...but I havent tried white one yet...I ate the normal one in Sapporo and we also drunk hot chocolate....and I spilled the chocolate on me...terrible memories

  • Dobry den Veronica san! This white taiyaki is new here in Japan, too. It's like mochi.

Your terrible memories will turn one of your great memories someday:) Succeed or mistakes. Many things you've done in your life and you will have more and more!!

  • you prolly mean "chewy"

  • Yes I think ''chewy'' is the best word for what I want to discribe:)

    モチモチ、Soft and Chewy(柔らかくて噛み応えがある)が妥当なのかな?

  • nice video :) well, what do you think is better- the wite taiyaki when it´s cold down or the brownish one?

  • I prefer normal one. I think this one is better to be considered as completely different sweets from Taiyaki :)

  • It looked good. I don't think I could ever wait in line that long for anything. There's always a huge line for a Belgium waffle place in Sannomiya here in Kobe....

    Great video man! :)

  • Thanks Kev :)

They still make line for Belgium waffle?? It's been more than 10 years since I got in that long line in Shibuya!!

  • thank you anyways for standing 40min in line, to bring us white Taiyaki a little bit closer! I love to see such things about your ordinary life over there! Always great! Go on ;)

  • Wow I'm really happy that you feel that way from watching my video:) Thank you very mouch :)

  • Hey 29 colors!

  • that looks amazing

  • It was something new to me,too:)

  • I think the word you were looking for is "chewy." Maybe "もちもち" means chewy in English? I'm not sure... I'll ask my Japanese teacher next class, lol.

  • Oh Chewy!! Thank you for the tips!! I'm learning something everyday from you guys:)

  • Ai Kago put these in her blog last week. :-)

    They looked exactly the same.

  • I justt checked it and it was the same one:)

  • I can't read kanji---what did she say about it?

  • Here is what she said:

''It's sold in Kobe and Osaka. People stand in long line for this. The texture is chewy like mochi. And they also have chocolate, custard cream, strawberry milk, and maccha flavor. It's really good! It's like mochi! It's coming to Tokyo soon.''

  • Hey, thanks for translating. So she agrees with you that they are chewy.

  • It's white. w^0^w

  • Yes It was white ^^

  • I love Taiyaki :) I can only eat it on the cherryblossomfestival here in Hamburg were I live. It's on the 22.Mai :3~ soon!

mochi is made of rice isn't it? I like eating daifuku mochi.

  • Cherry blossom festa. It sounds interesting! If you like mochi, you will like this white taiyaki :) And I beg you would love the ice cream called ''Yukimi-daifuku''. A lot of forigner like it!!

  • It looks good, I'll try it soon when I'm in Tokyo, as long as I don't have to stand in a long line! I love pound cake :)

  • This is more ''Manjuu-like'' than actual Taiyaki. I think it's because of the texture outside.

  • looks delish! :P

  • Thanks for watching:)

  • Too funny when its cold its better, but alot of things are that way.

  • Yes indeed. It's a lot different when it gets cooler on this taiyaki!

  • I come to think of...I love cold pizza!! Man your comment makes me wanna get pizza:)

  • Yehey, beard! :D

    Yehey, fish...something cakegums!

Another food goes onto my "must try" list. :-)

  • Haha I've been growing my beard for a week :) If it gets cooler, it tastes much better!!

  • Hahaha, at first I thought your beard tastes good xD I shouldn't be up at 3 am :( (even tho it's 4:30 already, woot woot)

I can't wait to see the final version of beardybeardy999 >:)

  • I shoul have made a new line for it...

Bearlybearly999 is on the way !!

  • If you can say "Bearly" , "really" is only a small step away. :D

  • LOL Absolutely true!!

  • It looks like that Mochi Taiyaki Hamada Cookes on Gaki no Tsukai Once.

  • Did they have that kind of episode? I missed it! Yes it's more like Mochi outside.

    「もちもち」も「こし」も、どっちも一番近いのは chewy なんでしょうかね~?

    なんか、しっくりしませんが・・・

  • Chewy!! ありがとうございます!ただ「コシ」だけはもっと違う表現方法があってほしいものですね。「香ばしい」とかも。なんか日本語ってうざいですねsometime時々^^;

  • they look nice would love to try them lol :D

  • Yes you can enjoy with tasting the texture at least::)

  • I wonder how they taste like. And the structure... at first it looked like a white hard shell but they were soft when u at them.

  • I prefer Taiyaki which has crispy texture outside. This one has more soft and buble gum texture. But it tasted OK:)

  • The look on your face is priceless i laughed my butt off.

  • It tasted good but it's just nothing in particular...And it's popular lol
