@homeworldmusic - I think this is the Beat Club performance, these sessions were generally 'Live' in that the band were filmed playing the track live, then Bolan would be filmed doing an overdub of a second guitar and vocal. the two clips were then married together. This was done to pad out the pad out the sound.

He first appeared in an acoustic duo Tyrannosaurus Rex in the late 60s, iconoclastic folk stuff that was "enigma wrapped in mystery" in some respects, was he kidding or serious? Were the lyrics "meaningful" on some level or were they just pop nonsense? Then came the evolution into T Rex and he seemed more in his element, playing loud, raucous, flashy and totally overwhelming. Don't recall anymore where I saw him (my memory is going) but we came home blown away. Sad that angels die young.

mr pargaluwa..i agree with all that you said,bolan was a unique talent,however..i believe bolan was his own worst enemy in many ways.ie everything about the band revolved around him?in my opinion he should have given the rest of the band a voice and/or identity?ie,in the beatle there was john,paul,george,&ringo.in t.rex there was just marc?after 73 the standard of songs he wrote deteriorated sharply.in my opinion he lost that edge?& the MARC show was a disaster? but there is no doubt in my mind,that bolan and t rex in there prime ruled the pop scene?and just for the record..bolan was the orinator of glam..i know,i was there @and when t rex first appeared,i had never even heard of bowie?this video more than any other illustrates adzactly what t rex introduced to the pop scene in the early 70s.trust me people,the pop scene was boring untill this group came along?bolan was this countrys equivelent to ELVIS..there will never be another like him?

this was bolan in his prime..i remember when i first saw this guy in 1970/71.there was nothing or no one like him.he lit up the pop scene like no one b4 him(incl the beatles..)in the period 71/73 he undeniably, ruled the music charts.he was original,singular,diferent & unique.probably the most original pop ster this country has ever produced?
