Old one and two pence pieces are made from 97% copper 2.5% zinc and 0.5% tin and are worth around 3.75p scrap the newer ones are 93% steel with a copper coating of the above mix making up the remaining 7%. Keep hold of the ones that don't stick to a magnet as they are technically copper bullion, spend the ones that do as you are up on the trade!
