  • I just bought one but I sure wish there was a class I could take to learn how to use it. It takes beautiful photos and videos on the basic settings. I wish it had a stablizer in movie mode but I hear you got to pay a lot more for a camera that has that. I suppose I'll use the tripod.

  • I just bought the D3000, but still jealous of all the cameras you have :) This is my first DSLR, or SLR for that matter...hopefully when I know what Im doing I can try making money!

  • About the 19 scene modes, i don´t think is that cool, i mean they are just variations of what you can do with manual, just a lot of icons. In fact, more advanced and pro dslrs have only 4 modes, MASP. Just a thought.

  • Wow! When/where did you learn all of this?? You would be a great buddy to have around while I'm trying to learn all this sh** (^_^)

I have a Pentax. I am still very new to photography. I just recently downloaded a handfull of pics on flikr (XENIGMAX) I had some (not to bad if I say so myself) pix that unintentionaly got erased from the card. >:o( They were much better ones. They were in 'RAW' format and I stuck the card in one of those photo kiosks. I'm still mourning their loss.

  • Man that sucks. Perhaps look into a photo recovery program. They can recover photos accidently deleted off your card. They're not 100% effective but one may save some photos you really love.

  • hello. i really need you help.

i just bought the nikonD5000 and when i seem to zoom wit the lens the photo starts to blurr.. could you please help me learn how to focus my photos

    -the annonman

  • message me if this doesn' help-

The D5000 does not have a built in atuofocus motor; instead you have the buy a lens that has an autofocus motor (the lens kit 18-55mm does have an af motor). there is a switch on the lens that reads "af-m" if it is in manual, you have the move the outer ring to focus. if you put it in the af (autofocus) mode, then it will focus for you. in movie mode, you have to use manual focus.

    *message me for more help*

  • I got the D5000, It's okay. I should have got the D90, that will be my next purchase, following the D3X

  • why the hell do you wanna buy the d90 after buying the pro d3x.....fcuking hell on about going backwards you moron...

  • I got this camera like two days ago, and I LOVE IT! I am a begginer so it is good. It has live video which rocks! LUV IT SO MUCH!

  • you can get the body for the d5000 for 444$ on bingo cameras.

  • Are this guys at Bingo Cameras a legitimate store, or is it a scam, for that price.?

  • I wouldn't trust that price. They may be a legitimate vendor but perhaps there are hidden costs and such. If it were me I'd buy from an established seller like B&H

  • if you ever get any camera things online i can personally say that B & H photo has been good for me fast delivery and very good packaging

  • I wouldn't trust them. There are a BUNCH of stores out there that sell cameras for like.. half the price and believe me, you don't want to buy it from them. B&H Photo is a great site so if you want to try buying a camera used, try it; the prices are low and they always check the cameras and tell you the condition of the camera.

  • Oh boy is bingo ever a scam! Rule of thumb: sounds too good to be true. it is. And for a new camera stores only change the price around $100 not like $300.

  • When did you buy the D40?, how has it been for you?, what kind of lenses do you have?, I ask because you seem a regular-pro user (don't get me wrong) and I'd like to know what you think =). I was thinking about getting D60 (is cheap now) but D5000 is getting my attention (HD video, CMOS sensor) but obviously is more expensive. What you think?

  • jessops sell D5000 with 18-55 VR, SD card, tripod and bag at the same price as D90 with 18-105 Vr

  • Why? you don't even have the camera.

  • Its not even available in the US yet. I just wanted to discuss its features and my thoughts on it

  • will it be available by the end of the month??

  • I was going to pick up the D90 but I might wait and get the D5000

  • Same here......but then agan, the d90 offers more for 200$....I'll choose when it'll come out....suppose to be in Canada 8th of may....maybe sooner in the U.S

  • The D90 is a little more than $200.00 extra.

  • Well, in here (Canada) The D5000 is currently 899$ and the D90 is 1000$ to 1100$ depending on the shop.....so its even less than 200$!! But if you take a look at NikonRumors, the D90 is suppose to go up a bit in few days

  • When will it be out in the US?

  • End of April..not sure though!

  • Nikon is better than Nykon!

the vid is a bit long and no, the d5000 dont auto-focus.

Would have been great if you had one for that matter

  • They're not available for sale in the U.S. yet
