There was someone else that sampled this song in the early 90's besides Chubb Rock, Powerule, Brandy, Warren G & Grav's - "Sex" but I had only heard the instrumental numerous times on a college radio station never the vocals. This cat from Chicago name down to earth sampled this for song called sex. Kanye West produced on his album too before he was a big star. It was an indi album. As for the original Side Effect were a very underrated group who should have been big. Their music were before it's time this is a classic tune.

Had a seriously big crush on this lady back in the day who still stands as one of the most beautiful looking females ever to have graced an album cover. I've got this album, it was pressed on yellow vinyl. Sylvia St. James was/is one hell of a singer and a beautiful lady! Side Effect made a habit of featuring talented ladies in the group. Sylvia replaced Helen Lowe AKA Helen Baylor and was replaced by Miki Howard. All 3 of them recorded some excellent songs with the group.
