  • Anyone knows the overclockability of the 3930k mobile processor?

  • Will Newegg release any more 3930k Processors as of today. 2/21/12

    Thanks

  • @SuperComputerBuilder There's some on sale at Tigerdirectdotcom as I type this to you. I just bought mine. :)

  • Why can't they just stick with one socket. Now for those who get the 2011 cant upgrade to sandy-e?

  • I don't get why he calls the LGA 1155 CPUs, in general, mainstream. My 2600k is definitely enthusiast level and competes right there with the 980x and 990x from the LGA 1366 socket.... which keep in mind are 6 core, Extreme edition CPUs!

And then we have Ivy bridge coming out soon for LGA 1155... oh dear goodness; if you call them mainstream I'll be seriously shocked.

  • @thelegendbullet937

the K and the X at the end of the model is the "Enthusiast" version in which Intel defines it as.

  • @redsuns03

Well then, by what you just said... that would make the 2500k and the 2600k both enthusiast line CPUs.... which are both LGA 1155 socket.

  • WHY ARE THE 3930K CPUS OUT OF STOCK?

  • @unijabnx2000

High demand around the world. Newegg just notified me of it being available today it became out of stock in a matter of hours.

  • mierda 7000 millones de transitores O_o

  • re-branded antec 620?

  • I got the 3960x over the i7 2600k because I wanted a black sticker :)

  • You should create a video about amd vs intel?

  • what is the price of intel x79 chipset?

  • @TheHackerzinside $1,079.75 black box

  • the 3930k is more expensive than my processor but runs at less of a frequency is it more expensive because of the amount of cores it has or what?

  • cpubenchmark{DOT}net/high_end_cpus.html

compares the 3930k and the 3930x

  • Comment removed

  • is the 3930k actually worth buying atm?

  • @massivemmafan From what I understand, for gaming, the i5-2500k is where it's at. Beyond that point each dollar spent on the processor isn't really worth the extra power you get out of it (especially since the 2500k can be overclocked to the same speed as an i7, just remember to keep it cool!)

  • @DarkZea1ot Not true newer games are using hyper threading so I would go I7.

  • It's not so much about what the CPU itself can do. The socket type itself gives more options. and uses new pci 3.0 slots

  • What is the difference between Intel Sandy Bridge-E and Ivy Bridge?

  • @h1013313 The Sandy Bridge-E is similar to the Sandy Bridge XEON E5... The Ivy Bridge will use the same architecture of Sandy Bridge but with the Tri-gate Transistors...

  • @h1013313 ivy bridge didnt come out yet so it hard to know.but few difference that i see is the ivy bridge will be 22 nm and 1155 socket

  • So the intel website says the new Intel i7 extreme 6 core processor supports 32Gbs DDR3-1600 ram...so how is it I watched a video in which ASUS use a P9X79 Deluxe motherboard and ran 64 Gbs of at least 1866 memory? Im not sure how that works. Can anyone tell me?

  • 3930K and 3960X are the same. The differences almost does not excist. In any case, dont matter what you will do. You WONT NOTICE any difference. Dont wast your money.

  • I acutally got an intel i7 3960X an a i7 2600K the...I live in India And the price of the 3960 is like 33,000 rs here(apprx 1000 dollars) and the i7 2600k is 17k (apprx 380 dollars) and when i compared these 2 processors i saw that the 3690x could max out the games like with 4 or 5 more fps and you get to multitask a bit more and i just realized that affording 600 dollars just to get 4 or 5 fps more and bit more calculations persecond IS JUST NOT WORTH IT

  • you need a lot of money to buy this ....so better take a new pc ..!!!!! or wait 3 to 5 years so the price drop...!!

  • This is just fucking overkill, wat nigger would need such amount of processing power?

    The speeds are getting ridiculous.

Not to mention the upcoming trigate cpus wich would probably be equiped with qunit channel DDR4 controllers which will be insane.

  • Great explanation about Intel's Core i processors. Congratulations and thanks!

  • has anyone here bought a extreme edition CPU. I feel like they are a huge wast of a extra $500.

  • @seroyer2 I just finished my $2,200 "budget" build. It is based off the 1366 Nehalem socket. I purchased an i7 990X (the fastest processor for that socket) and I love it. Even being a few years old, they still retail for $1,000+. I got mine brand new on ebay for $770. I have not had any task it didn't handle in a flash, the speed is amazing! I have it overclocked to 4.5 GHz, and it runs great. It might be "obsolete" but it is still amazing and should not get overlooked.

    Just my opinion

  • @KCP100 Ya, I'm just wandering if its worth it to buy a extreme edition over a K CPU (you know K for unlocked) there both going to overclock to the same speed right?

  • @seroyer2 Unlocked is nice, but also not necessary. The 980X and 990X are the only unlocked processors of my socket. The 970 is not unlocked, but that does not mean you cannot overclock it. In fact, with a little more work you can get the same speeds out of a 970 as an extreme edition. Having it unlocked just makes it easier to overclock

  • @seroyer2 Also, unless you really do a ton of video editing, or something that uses TONS of processing power all the time, you really won't notice the difference at all. Even with my "obsolete" processor, when I click something, it is open instantly. If you have the money, go for the extreme. But if you are a fairly average power user on a budget, just go with the unlocked.

  • @KCP100 Well, when that gets out of date, you will not be able to reuse most of your components, because you are using a dead chipset.

  • @C00lman555 True, but I will keep this computer for a couple of years. When I'm ready to upgrade I'm probably going to start fresh anyway.

  • The E in Sandy-bridge e stands for express, not enthusiast lol.

  • I like newegg I may have to take my business to a company where I can buy a stand alone i7-3930k and not waste money on useless parts. Suggestion I would pay a couple dollars more to buy somewhere else but if you made it no combo and rise the price to comparable I would go with newegg.

  • Newegg, why do you only offer the 3930k with that ridiculous combo deal? It's got a 2x4GB RAM configuration and a SLOW 2TB drive. You're loosing customers doing that, there are several people complaining in the reviews. It's DISCOURAGING people from buying from newegg, as they can get the 3930k alone on different sites. Please, let people buy just the 3930k, not with the parts you picked.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, you need to buy a combo deal for the 3930k on newegg.

  • Oh lol I read i5-2500k instead of i5-2400s

  • It must be better, its box is black.

  • @sean1990s i used to think like that but then i did my research

  • @sean1990s don't forget, it's "extreme" too

  • @n11lc2 Yeah and so is every other computer product today

  • My understanding is Sandy Bridge E is just a IVY Bridge at 32nm.

  • 3930 is running stable at 4.551 GHZ

  • what about throwing 2 of those together in a system for 12cores?

  • @BriantProductions i7's don't support dual CPU systems, you need Xeons or an AMD equivalent.

Though AMD does offer a 16-core CPU, which you can put two together for a 32 core. Unfortunately, it's based off the bulldozer architecture...

  • Very informative review! Extremely recommended for who want to know what are the real innovations (and possible benefits) of the intel sandy bridge-e mainstream and enthusiast processors!

  • Will Ivy bridge have a new socket?

  • @Owwmykneecap No. It will use the 1155 socket just like the Sandy Bridge processors.

  • how more boring can you present this information? He is not ment to be in front of a camera. his voice is monotonous

  • @koocat It's straight up info, it's not mean to be wacky and fun.

  • Might as well wait for the Ivy bridge processors since 2012 is around the corner.

  • For gaming there are countless benchmarks out there showing no perceptible difference using this chip from the i5's and i7's, Where it does kick ass is in multi threaded apps, number crunching, video editing. So all you gamers need not get down at your recently purchased mainstream chips. The 3 to 8 hundred dollars you saved will buy you allot of beer.

  • @JohnnyForehead The extreme duo cores used to be better for gaming and the Q6600 was "useless", now look who's laughing?

  • @JohnnyForehead I suppose I will limp by with my : AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT90ZFBGRBOX. I'd send you one for x-mas, but for some reason they appear to be out of stock. Brought to you in part by the letters and numbers: c-2,h-5,o-h. And also by the surplus cpu budget, which I did in fact use to buy beer for a year.

  • @JohnnyForehead lol i dont know, since its so high, its so tempting to buy lol

  • @JohnnyForehead If anything you may want the LGA2011 motherboard so that you can be ready for the Ivy bridge really. In terms of gaming that is.

  • @JalilDennis ??? Dude Ivy will be on the 1155... I hope you didnt buy a Mob based on your thinking that the 2011 is for ivy....

  • @brushandbolter Everything I have been reading says it will be 2011, I am pretty sure it is 2011.

There are 1155 sockets and 2011 sockets, but the 2011s clearly out perform the 1155. :/ Just look up ivy bridge on wikipedia and do a find on that webpage for socket. You will see. Cheers. :)

  • For that price it should come with a liquid cooler or at least make the processor cheaper since they decide to cut off the stock cooler no one uses.

  • hehehe nice liquid cooler :P

  • Why does Intel want my money so bad :(

  • what's the best LGA775 CPU ?

  • BOOOOO!!

  • will this fit in a 768x-ud7-b3 ? plz reply

  • @MrXtremePcGamer Do you mean GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 ? If yes, no, it doesn't support, this is a LGA2011 CPU.

  • do you have a page with all these choices, the mobo, cases, cooling, cpu's all in one convenient place?

  • Huh.. the radiator is that same as the one in the Corsair Intros Hydro Series H50 cooler

  • I'll wait for Ivy Bridge instead of buying a $1,200 CPU. ^_^

  • WHEN I MET OBAMA LAST TIME HE TOLD ME THAT NEW 2011 socket based CPU ,s are made to fix it in newbielam ass

  • Newbie lam wants to boost that he speaks with intel,s boss... Hey newbielam. Whenmu meet him next time bend down and suck his dick hard.. He might give u free pentium 286 dx. LOL

  • @Itechnohead You seem to fail to understand sarcasm...and the use of the reply function.

  • @NewbieLam sorry man, i realise later that i should have not used such language , accept my apology . when i read your comment its still sounding as if you are boosting your self. anyway, im sorry

  • I'm not sure If I should get it It's so expensive.

  • I think I will wait until next year to get an i7-3820

  • @bobmagnets

    Why? Its a 4 core, not a 6 core...

  • More like E (in SB-E) means "Enterprise" to me.

Not every enthusiast can afford this. ;)

  • Celeron is way better than this.

  • In USA I CAN afford this... In Europe I CAN'T AFFORD THIS! IT'S DOUBLE PRICED THAN IN USA!

  • Sandy-E is shit cuz the ivy bridge will come out in march 2012 and it's a small an better than SB-E so intel need more shit of /\/\oney money money oh Boom >_<

  • @TheIwanaloveyou what did you just say?

  • @gumberly _|_

  • @TheIwanaloveyou Cool story, bro.

  • Tell your mom to wait for Ivy, she will save a lot of money.

  • what does turbo boost do?

  • I dont need that (i do) my single celeron would rip (no it wont) those cpu apart. 1.6ghz celeron (trash) ftw!!!!!!

  • "And the K of course stands for Unlocked"

  • Comment removed

  • Sandy-E= Future

    Sandy bridge normal= For now

  • well they say go big or home but you wont have a home if you buy one

  • yeah

  • $1300 for one of them holy S****

  • ok are these processors better then the 2600k because i jsut made a new build and am pissed that they just came out with another socket

  • Anyone that would actually use that stock intel fan is cracked outta their mind haha...

  • I can barely afford to watch this video, let alone buy these things.

  • I'd definitely get a $600 processor, i7 3930k because it's cheaper than i7 3960x ($1000) processor, plus it's only 3Mb of L3 Cache less, compared to i7 3960x. Thus, i7 3930k is worth the money to spend for maximum performance!

  • That awkward moment when you just got a i7 2600k

  • @FLIGHTCOMPANY

Not really the 2500k/2600k is still the processor your average user is going to want to get the Sandybridge-E processors are for enthusiasts

  • @FLIGHTCOMPANY yes i know the feeling just bought a z68 mobo for my 2500k and was gonna get the i7 as well but really.... i just wasted $150 if i decide to upgrade to the x79 platform

  • @FLIGHTCOMPANY or when you just got an i7 2700K >_<

  • @FLIGHTCOMPANY im glad i waited

  • @FLIGHTCOMPANY What's awkward about that? I7 2600k is really good, these new servers aren't really much of a good upgrade from the i7 2600k, wow come on. That awkward moment when you look retarded.

  • @Shadowfury That awkward moment when you miss the point.

  • @FLIGHTCOMPANY ya the i7 3960 is only 1k more... i think you'd be better off with the 2600k =] you could then upgrade every part on your pc with the extra money from not buying the 3960..

  • @FLIGHTCOMPANY

My thoughts exactly... they better still make some good 6 core LGA 1155 CPUs! -.-

  • @FLIGHTCOMPANY

    lol same xD

  • @FLIGHTCOMPANY nope, atleast youll be able to upgrade to ivy

  • @FLIGHTCOMPANY haha

  • @FLIGHTCOMPANY the ackward moment when a flightsim user Youtube name is seen on popular Youtube star video or there comment rated the highest on places where you don't expect them

  • With air cooled fans being the size they are, and with both sides holding beefy RAM, I have a feeling there is going to be a run on the supply of self contained water cooling setups. Stock up on H80 and H100 coolers NewEgg.

  • Expensive, but beast

  • Spend 1000 $ on a CPU... or spend it on the entire rest of the computer.

    Hmm...

  • intel needs to learn how to sell a quad core chip for under 200

  • i think my 2500k is just fine..

  • Two i7's in one video? This review must have had a bigger budget than Avatar

  • @DrDeso1 HAHAHAHA

  • @DrDeso1 No, they total to about 2500 bucks, that's quite the assumption.

  • quad channel memory looks cool

  • Im happy with my I7 920. . .

  • E stands for Exclusive.....

  • Sandybridge-Epeen

  • Paul!!

  • The i7-3930K will drop in price fast

  • Or you can buy an AMD processor that is just as good for $190.

  • @MisterChikyu "just as good" LOL!!!! No. Not even CLOSE to 'just as good.' AMD makes good stuff, but nowhere even close to as good as the extreme edition intel chips. Not even remotely close.

  • @MisterChikyu BAHAHA.

    Oh you're serious...

  • @MisterChikyu LOLOLOL Kids dumb.

  • @MisterChikyu Not better then these by a mile, however best for p/p ratio for 95% of consumers.

  • @MisterChikyu No.

  • @MisterChikyu Good one.

  • @MisterChikyu HAHAHHA, WRONG!!!!!

  • @bamfan2044 How am I wrong?

  • @MisterChikyu Have you seen any benchmarks? Yeah intel may be up there in the price bracket but, you pay for superior performance over AMD. The i7-2600k beats the bulldozer (which was a trainwreck btw). Wait till Ivy CPU's AMD will have nothing on intel.

  • @bamfan2044 6-core processor for $600-1050, or a 6-core processor for $190. Well, coming from a student in high school that is only a sophomore, the AMD one works just fine. kthxbai.

  • @MisterChikyu I'm a Junior in high school. Trust me if your building a gaming rig I would go with an i3-2100 or so. Very good chips. Which is what I did but I have an i5 in my future.

  • @bamfan2044 I was spending only $750, on building a whole computer from nothing. How can I do that with something that costs more than half my money?

  • @MisterChikyu I don't think $132 is half your build....If anything the OS would be half or the video card or other possibilities. I built mine for 575$ It can max almost everything I throw at it :P

  • @bamfan2044 Where did pull $132 from.

  • @MisterChikyu NVM

  • Go with a i3 2130

  • "E" is for expensive....duhhhh

  • I thought Sandy Bridge Extreme was Ivy Bridge... why is Intel naming system so complex?

  • Anyone know if I should get a 2500k or get an i3-2120 and wait for ivy bridge?

  • @Novulux can you wait? that is the real question. If you can wait, then wait. It alway better to wait, but when Ivy bridge comes out there going to be another chip comming... But if you are going to get a chip now the 2500k is best bang for the buck.

  • @Novulux Man SB is fine, you will hardly get more FPS on games (assuming that's what you really asking for) with IB. If I remember correctly all IB will have over SB is more advance integrated graphics (gamers won't need that) and lower power consumption due to the shrink in die. You might wait to see if the price gets lower (which may not happen) but if you can afford it now. GO!

  • @Novulux If I were you I would wait for ivybridge!!

  • EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYOOOOOOOO im going to get one of these to make my friend jelious

  • people are kinda stupid or what ? who the hell buy one of this processor for pc normal use or gaming, this are more likelly workstation processors for people who really needs to run several heavy programs at the same time.

althou if i were rich i would buy one of this just to show off......... *trollface*

  • E is for Expensive

  • @ltg2227 haha just like the old days lol

  • Performance is below Enthusiast, not Mainstream. Intel's current mainstream CPU is the Core i3.

  • I guess my question is - Does Intel actually expect consumers to expect the longevity of a CPU (say a top of the line config $2000+) to be limited to 2-3 years? When my clients come to me asking for a future proof system I am to tell them NOTHING is future proof - the typical response will be not to spend a lot. Flushing the 1155 platform this quickly is a catastrophic mistake for Intel just barely a year old.

  • @StraightShooter01 Did you even watched the video? Sandy Bridge E is not a replacement for Sandy Bridge, Ivy bridge is and it will fit into the current 1155 socket. Sandy bridge E was made for people that doesn't have a budget or money is no problem when building a computer. Just Because intel release a better cpu doesn't mean the older cpu is no longer good. People actually come to you for computer advice? Do you work at Best Buy or Geek Squad?

  • @NewbieLam yeah the 2011 socket is kinda the same when the 1366 socket appeared. just like the i7-990X

  • @NewbieLam If you look at the x79 platform (the motherboards) as well as listen to the Intel reps - they are clearly marketing this as a gaming platform - this is an enterprise level platform with NO significant benefit to justify the price with only a modest 13% increase in performance. ie - at present - the ONLY people to benefit would be those running enterprise grade rendering software - gamers, wouldn't see ANY significant benefit compared to a 2600k maxed system.

  • Comment removed

  • @StraightShooter01 Holy god, do you even read other people comment before you post reply? Do you even understand how to form a argument? You didn't even answer simple questioned I posted to you, why reply at all? Please go buy a Mac or something, because you clearly seem to have very low IQ, and if you are going start stating this fact and that fact, back it up. Because last time I've been to intel and talked to the CEO he said the Sandy Bridge E was made for the new line of Intel Smart Phones!

  • for 990% i can build fucking gamer PC

  • The x79 is a workstation class platform (major overkill for gaming), the i5-2500k is still by far the best value for those looking for a great gaming config. Take the $750 you save and get a nice video card (maybe SLI config), 27" monitor, you get the idea. There is NO gaming software out there that requires more than a quad core - high end workstation apps would see a benefit - no one else.

  • BLAH!! Just when I got 2600K 3 weeks ago! >_< screw you technology!

  • @Sleepinglion22 Your 2600k is excellent for gaming - this is a workstation class platform - they are trying to sell it as a gaming platform - it isn't - meaning that there is no software that would even come close to taxing this at all (bf3 runs GREAT on a 2500k with a nice video card) Your 2600k should serve you very well for easily a couple years - software programmers cant keep up with high end hardware - you are in good shape with 2600k.
