  • Thanks a lot for posting! :)

  • One of the most charismatic dancers in Egypt.

  • Egyptian dancers are the best

  • her dancing has such a cute factor to it. I like her style!

  • Balamanti2: Inte wahed sharmouta, Fifi is one of the best dancers all the world.

  • holy crap, she was hot!

  • does anyone know the name of the music????

  • hi there..I´m a fan of Fifi, she is amazing, talented and gorgeous :) unfortunatelly she is retired now. Even though the guality of the clip is not good... the song is wonderful...someone can tell me the name of this song? this is so magic...I want to dance to the sound of this music (in a better quality of course ;) Have a nice day folks!

  • eu amo ver esta mulher dançando !!!!

  • Fifi Abdou is a sharmouta kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

the best and most tasty sharmouta in all Egypt

  • @balamanti2 - Do you know this personally?

  • THIS is why I started belly dancing <3

  • Biz de Tunis ;-)

  • I want a dress like that one, too. She enjoys being an entertainer, and she inspires me. She seems very humble with high self esteem. She has so much Shakti, and the blue dress lifts and adds to the energy she created in this moment. The backdrop is interesting, it looks like there may be a construction crane? It seems like a big corporate event, maybe in Abu Dhabi or Cairo or anywhere really. I'm not quite sure. If you know, would you be a dear and tell me the name of the event shedancd

  • I want a dress like that one, too. She enjoys being an entertainer, and she inspires me.

  • i wish they kept costumes like that with the cover i like those but they aren't very popular now

  • @linwuzhay It's Egyptian, b/c they don't usually allow their dancers to show their bellies. I wish people would stick to those more often, too.

  • @Ethyogptn - You mean the law / rule that bellydancers should "cover" their bellies? But they get around the law by having a see-through covering.

Dina doesn't have to follow this law, I hear, however, because she's Christian.

  • @ColoradoDancer Usually they do, but it's either colored so it's not quite as naked as no fabric or it's nude colored. As for Dina, I haven't heard anything about her not having to follow the same rule. From what I've seen of her in Egypt, she's usually covering herself pretty well unless she's performing outside the country. I don't think religion has anything to do with it. It's simply the law, and an Egyptian is an Egyptian regardless.

  • @linwuzhay - You can easily add a nude or colored stocking - just sew it to the bra and make it like a leotard - then you step into the whole thing and put the skirt and belt over it.

  • simply great ! many dancer can keep the rhythm , not any dancer can interpret the nuances of a musical piece......

  • i could watch her all day :-D i love her smile!

  • She has incredible charisma on stage. Really fabulous!

  • @Sweetestdrug93 What does being Christian have anything to do with the subject matter? An Arab is an Arab first before religion....you can choose your religion but not your nationality.....wake up and you might see better days in the future!!!!!!

  • yahoooooooooooooooooo very nice fifi i love you

  • I would Fifi Abdou all over her face!

  • @crazymood666 and do you call your self man? you don´t respect a woman, because she´s egiptian? what kind of thing are you? do you believe you´re a human? a man? i don´t think so. i can say you´re a racist without brain. Gott for gives you for your hate and ugly words.

  • simplesmente MARAVILHOSO!!!!

  • MARAVILLOSA FIFI

  • I LOVE IT !!! thanks for sharing !

  • it soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool

  • I think she is Fifi when she was very young...The title of the DVD is "Fifi Abdou"...

  • @zarakedanza Yes it's Fifi, the best.

  • I don't think this is Fifi Abdu. She looks very similar to her. Same hair, body type and she is with Fifi's signature orchestra. Dances similarily to Fifi's style. Maybe its the quality of the video, that is making doubt who it is. Also, as great a dancer as she was, she really wasn't that good at cymbals.

  • What a lovely music and dancing, what a lovely dancer.

Long live Egypt and his culture, past present and future!

By the way, Fifi looks amazing in this royal blue ensemble! Very classy :-)

  • crazymood666....the worst comment I've ever seen in youtube...the worst guy full of hate and racism....

he removed the comment but this does no forgive whot hi is able to think.....I hope youtube will close his account.....

  • الله يازمان كان جسمها حلوو وشكلها حلوو

    ومالها كرش

    شي يحزن بجد

  • loooool wow she look so different than now she was kinda pretty

  • i know where is this

this is in dubai Shaik Mohamed bn Rashed wedding i got the orginal tabe and its vry clear .

  • saeed307, could you please tell me how to find this performance/the original tape? I like it very much and would like to have it...

  • She's a good dancer, it's a shame the clip isn't of higher quality.

  • Super Fifi!

  • uff...

  • This is the first time I've watched anything of Fifi Abdou and I have to say WOW she can really bellydance! She and Sadie are now my 2 most favorite bellydancers.

  • Fifi has charisma and character as well

  • even the music before used to be sooo much beautiful..nowdays everything is so artificial...this video definetely goes to my favourites

  • @Pavarsija i know i hate synchronized drum beats :(

  • awesome Fifi is still the best !!

  • divine

  • so good

  • Absolutely Amazing !

Wish I could shimmy like that... going to take a lot of practice I guess...???

My instructor Nisaa (here in St. Louis) told our class about Fifi-- this dancer is just beautiful.

  • Fifi is absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!!

  • Thx-in Spanish it's called: el laud. Interesting! and great belly dancing!

  • what's the name of the instrument the man is playing 2:30 on? thx!

  • That instrument is the oud or ud

  • Anyone who dances in front of people wether it be a big stage show or a private little party is giving a piece of themselves, to be shared and enjoyed no matter how great or not their dancing may be - it is a gift and it would be so nice if it could be accepted as such.

To critisize is easy but its also easy to appreciate.Wishing you a Happy & Peaceful New Year.

  • Don't bring religion up, wrong place and time, so shut it. Back to the dancing, man, Fifi, you ARE the best. Makes Dina look like a flake in comparison....

  • of course she is the best

  • just let Fifi dance! Its not her problem that everybody is fighting..

  • Dear Muslims. No Offence was inteded to Islam in the comments I have just posted. If any point is wrong or written in what could be deamed "offencive mannor" please correct me. as I am not a Muslem & have writen this from what I can remember oF my Daughters Mardrasi Lessons on a Saturday morning at the Mosque in Famagusta Norhern Cyprus.

  • according to the jewish TALMUD jesus was a magician and a fool who was boiled in semen and tortured to death. he is considered a blashphemer by the jewish writings. but the holy QURAN gives him far more respect. why? is it truly babylonian superstition or christ a dead dog as considered by rabbinical pharisees. michael hoffman2 " the strange gods of judaism" and " traditions of the jews" by johann andreas eisenmernger a classic expose on judaism.

  • I have just posted a message to you. May a suggest that you RE-READ all comments & not just SCAN them asjudging by your rude comments scanning some & not reading other is what yo have been doing. & that is why " YOU ARE HOLDING THE WRONG END OF THE STICK."

  • Hello sweetestdrug93. you are 100% correct Ritabellydance is just not very sophisticated on cultural or dance matters, I mean she does not even know that Islam as been in Arab nations since Mohamed, so I think she is just saying she is arab just to try & give her self some credabilty.!!

  • This video is fantastic! One of the best bellydance videos I have seen. I love the way you feel the music not just dance to it but you let it get inside of you. I am an American but there have been times I was told I danced like an Arab but this is something to aspire to as this is the measurement for dancing like a true Arab!

  • She is and always will be one of my favorites. This is the dance style I learned. Between Fifi Abdo and Suheir Zaki, just simple, from the heart and beautiful. Not just shakingactually feeling the music and moving to how the music makes you feel.

  • OH..by the way I am a proud American and I don't dance creepy at all. And like I said there are great dancers everywhere and bad ones everywhere too. I just had to add that little piece. : )

  • American Belly dancing has nothing to do with Belly dancing what so ever So Good & Bad dancers everywere does not come into it, It is not rated ( & realy seen Outside the Americas) We in Europe have the Middle East on our door steep so we do not rate American so called Belly Dance. Wake up & smell The coffee. "Bully for you being so patriotic" ( (I just could not reasist the addege)

  • here you go spreading hate again. very said. just enjoy the vid. Peace and love, you need it!u can respond all you want. I'm done. I don't waste time w/ people like u.

  • As I said you use attack as your best form of defence

THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE DOING AGAIN HERE!!!!

    GROW UP.

  • I will also like to mention that dance classes are important. Ofcourse a dancer should dance from the heart but you do need to learn how to bellydance because it is a very complicated dance form. I would not want a doctor working on me with out some form of edu. So why should dance be any diff. Like anything else we have to learn then make it our own. And I personally love Fifi. She's great!

  • I don't agree. Not everyone needs formal classroom training to become a great dancer, its called natural talent.

  • I don't know why comments on You tube always end up so political so far from the vid itself. But I will say this in the west I do agree that some moves go creepy and bellydance is not about that however, there are plenty of great dancers both in the east and west. And like everything....dance forms do evolve. Who wants to see the same thing over and over.

  • You are true to Form Whenever some one point out the obvious to an American, They get accused of being Political or Anti American!!

In Britan we call such an action " Using Attack as your best form of defence!!"

  • Discrimination and racism is a terrible thing. But i see that is what ur into. Good luck!

  • You are a NUTTER!!!!

  • 7Vails you are an ASS! All the comments you post on you tube are always trash. GET A FREAKIN LIFE!

  • You have got the right name!!! & are a real DICTATORE

  • When not one person on a site agrees with you it is best you leave it! NOT ONE person on this site is interested in your half baked ideas! So stop trying to BROW Beat people into your ill informed ways. Islam has been in the Middle East since Mohamed prophet of god Gave people the message! & destroid The Babalonian Idols. Devoute Muslems make a pilgrimage to Mecca Every year to the now Islamic shrine which once held the mostly Babalonian Idols.

For in depth Info Google "Start of Islam"

  • you might also like to update yourself on christ insanity. read books "the christ conspiracy" by s acharya and the " forgery of christianity". this books reveal and expose in great detail with the most irrefraggable evidence that christianity and his saviour are just pale imitations of other pagan superstitions. jesus christ means sun saviour, a copy of zeus, osirisis and most probably mithra.

  • rahul2col. You are correct But nobody is talking about Christianity.

    just enjoy FiFi Please.

  • whatever!

  • western women think you have to do all kinds of creepy looking bellyrolls and shit like that to be a bellydancer when in fact in egypt, less is more and its more sensual to do it HER way. when u see fifi dance its how bellydance is done when ur body just moves to the music without having the learn how to do it from some teacher who will only show u HER ways.

  • Hey Janellemoche, Stop insulting americans. they welcomed you on their land. I am arab by the way and I know all the egyptians dances. I love samia, carioca, randa and Dina. Fifi does not know hwo to bellydance. she just opens her big mouth and do that smile. everyarab dances from her/his heart. That is not enough to become a professional dancer.

  • goes to show how much u know ... especially about me.

but ur not that special i need to explain it to you so slooooowly step away from the computer, go outside, and get a life.

  • give that advice to yourself. You are in no position to lecture anyone here.

  • You should be gratefull to western women. They took bellydance to a very high level. Not any one who can shake her ass and smile is a bellydancer. With all respect to Samia and Carioca. I think they were great. I dont know anyone who dance like them. I agree doing complicated movment does not make you a great dancer either but it is a combination of techniques, choregraphy and personality: either you are an entertianer or not.

  • It is because of western bellydancers that one day arabs will respect this beautiful art. It is because of them that this dance will survive because the way arabs look at it does not help improve it. The way islam is taking over most arab nations I think this dance one day will vanish.

  • islam is in arab nations since over 1400 years....what are u talking about?

  • @zozogigi Yeah obvioulsy, I meant islamist movements (fanatics). the ones who threaten people's freedom

  • @zozogigi THAT IS PRECISELY THE REASON WHY MOST ARAB NATIONS ARE OVER 600 YEARS BEHIND THE REST OF THE WORLD!!!

  • @helios180746 what did u know about arab nations history...i guess u need alot of education, isalm was never the reason for being behind, islam incourages peopel for education,is the peopel themselve nothing else.arabs was the pioneirs of many things in the middel centuries before europ, read please before you speak...lol

  • @zozogigi I was born in one.....anything else you would like to know? Do not let my user name fool you!!

  • her style is the most easiest...and it shows you dont have to do all that crazy weird lookin belly movement to dance. she is the queen of egyptian dancers and always will be.

i dance now, and never took one class because i spent my whole life watching HER.

fifi aslo never took a class in her life either, and thats the way it should be. bellydance cannot be taught, you have to reach inside urself and pull it out.

  • what are u crazy or something....sweety dont get her confused with the way western women totally fuck up the dance ok! american women are all about the show....egyptian women well it comes right from inside. if fifi was the worst, then she wouldnt be named queen of egypt by her own people. keep ur western comments to urself and continue trashing our dance ok.

  • Im american and was taught by my teacher to use my body to express the music learn the words how can you dance this dance and not know what the music says ?If it dosen't touch you it comes through your dancing.

  • everybody is free to express his own feelings and what music says to him...accordions often tell a story without words...the Marsigliese gives me great emotions although I can't understand french...

    baci da Roma

    Zara

  • I couldn't agree more zara

  • @REALCHEWYLICIOUS

well, I guess if you have no heart and no feelings in your soul, you have to rely on the words....in Raqs Sharqi, you can feel the emotion through the music, the melody is the spirit, the drum is reflecting the heartbeat of the music, the drummer and the dancer. Do carrying on enjoying your soul-less Western music.

  • @sadiiqa - Or just practice a lot till you get it.

But not all people can dance - no matter if they're American or Egyptian. Some are non-musical and better at computers or engineering.

I just hope belly dancing will become popular in Egypt again like it once was. I hear clubs are having a hard time financially there. More Americans are belly dancing professionally now than Egyptians.

  • @YungDmoney Clearly you have no taste in music...

  • واو كانت حلوه وايد

  • gosh! her costume is just awesome! the color, the style! she is just the best imo!

  • great dancer I never saw her before , she is like Didem

  • :))))

she is one of the greatest Egyptian dancers from the 70ies and 80ies.

PLEEEEAAASE if you re Arab/Maghrebine, do not compare her to Didem who is not a real bellydancer but more modern dancer to most Arabs!!!! Fifi is amazing, and she s been alegend for decades!!!!! cant compare her to a young starlet like Didem!!

If you want to compare compare her with the grand stars like Samia Gamal :))

  • She's amazing!!!!!

    The best!!!

  • she is proof that u dont have to do all that weird ass belly stuff like them commercialized fake american dancers do, in order to be the best

  • i agree so much Miss refaat!

  • I love fifi Abdo, she dances so gracefully and beautifully!Amazing performance! She's so beautiful and love her style!

  • Oh, Fifi. Forever joyful, spirited, cheeky and talented. This is pure delight.

    An instant fave. :)

  • I LOVE this performance!!!!!

  • She's so gorgeous.

  • i guess she is what you call a virtuoso.

  • Fifi is the best :) Her face just shows the passion she has and thats what makes her so great!

    Kisses from Turkey!

  • Brilliant!!!!!!!!!

  • omgg

    this was in dubai!!!

  • This is the way the dance should be done, improvised, under-stated, natural, the real Egyptian way.

  • I am so agree with you.

  • She dances from her heart, all improvised AND she's having lots of fun- she's my true Balady Queen!!!
