  • cool

  • Is this real???

  • Wow anyone thinking Super Monkey Ball with this music?

  • SHOW US that this glass pyramid ISN'T reflecting a giant screen below it. SHOW US a 3D model that ISN'T spinning as we MOVE with it and maybe, just maybe, we'll determine whether or not it's a 'free-floating hologram'.

  • @pccontroller yah. now that u mention it this fuck face on the video is dazzling us wit sum cool lookin shit but fails to deliver cause not once did u see a still image circled once. this is BS!

  • @pccontroller I invented one!

  • How come when i look at these hologram videos people have to bring up PORN in the subject...

  • @MrSkybreaker959 ...Just imagine

  • @inaugurated Imagine what? Some bitch being screwed by an asshole like you? No thanks.

  • @MrSkybreaker959 It's because people's lack of social skills turned them into little hermits that live in their own little world, porn is a way for them to release their sick seks imagination. Instead of ever being able to even talk to a real person.

  • can i buy one

  • @dragonicaboynss Yes, but you'll be ripped off. Besides, it's not even a hologram at all, everyone can make this.

  • how it works ?

  • @gabymanjo Simple, FLAT images are projected on glass plates, no hologram and no 3D but it reasonably satisfies people's small minds..

  • This is 2006 and now we are 2011! Whats the next big thing!? :) In 2020 we might have actual holographic TV screens... :) Technology is growing faster and faster! :)

  • Great, sprites in real world. I wonder if they are going to make real life voxels or something.

  • @Unbeginner it's very hard to make a hologramic figure in 3D images and you could see how an object looks from a different angle.

    doesn't it?

  • It would be strange watching programming in this format. Would there be backgrounds? And if so, how would that work? Just let me know when it's under a grand and isn't a giant upside-down pyramid in my living room.

  • you know that the janitor learned how to use that thing just so he can look at stripers

  • if we can stop light!

  • MAN KANN NICHTS VERSTEHEN. DIE MUSIK IST ZU LAUT!!!!!!!!!!! PENNER!

  • its like a 2d hologram... i guess

  • wow, let girls strip on that

  • You can see the sides, but theyre transparent and because of that it looks strange and sorta "useless"

BTW how is the song called?

  • it's 2 D holograms

  • Looks like a projection to me...

  • This is a very cool design, but this isn't a hologram; it's a Pepper's ghost illusion.

  • i would love to play tekken 6 on that !!

  • Practical application.

    youtube.com/watch?v=DTXO7KGHtjI&feature=related

  • this is awesome. A chance to have a holographic TV is opened. by 4 to 5 years LED TV will be replaced by this. I can imagine the design. Slim, not space consuming, portable. wow,..

  • totally can't hear that guy is from denmark xD

  • Well, thats a good start, can't wait to see what will come up next.

  • Now, expand the pyramid thing to the size of a room. :P

  • FixOn Solutions in Finland can make these.

  • that would make some kick-ass porn.

  • dont they already have these... put a penny in it and it appears to float above.. smoke and mirrors

  • yep, i thought as much, 2d from 360 degree angles. Same job as 4 TVs, but it makes a damn cool trade fair prop. However, if it were big enough you could have 360 degree cinemas! sound would be a problem though

  • Where do you guys get the info that what you see on one end is the same as the other end?

  • Please state the nature of your medical emergency

  • @JerryBear712

You are the emergency! Your holomatrix is destabilasing! (Belana)

  • if u see a girl wearing short skirt , see from the bottom XD

  • guys chill even if its isnt a hologram its still badass

reminds me of how games used to use 2d images and u would rotate around them to get a view

but eventually now we have 3d objects =D

  • Isn't this just standard projector images on glass?

  • @Galfonz Yeah its just projectors shining on miroors, but it's really convincing when you see it !

  • @Galfonz Yes, but due to the lack of common knowledge, people see every floating image as a hologram. That's how ''informative'' tv is.

  • not a hologram.

  • Is the guy danish? - omg, thats so not cool, and unusable. its just 4 2D images being refrected in each glass. so it creates the illusion that it is floating. if you want to call it 3D it shoud be like a hologram, where you can move and the angle changes depending on where you are looking from.

  • wow.. AMAZING!

  • its very interesting hopfully we get to 3D holograms soon.

  • Looks like this is how Tv are going to be. The 3D TV today are simply an already outated technology. I guess these companies work on many projects and they release them as if they did not have a better one to compansate the R&D cost.

  • good for porn

  • @Joshloft That's all your bird mind can come up with.. -_-

  • @Ruttie2 THE FUCK I WROTE THAT COMMENT A YEAR AGO GTFO

  • how does this work?

  • @FlyinSpaghettiMnstr7 spinning mirror

  • the point of a hologram is to be able to interact with it u tards

then again, people said no-one would ever use 3d glasses.... but i guess u can sell air if u market it right...

  • this isn't a true hologram; not even close, hologram effect maybe

  • pffff easy to make it with portable dvd or plasma screen tv tutorial: watch?v=L7lJbXLRFYQ

  • i agree that u should be able to go around the object and see it from any angle, but this could be done by rotating the content of the video instead of the person. In this case the system need a way to know where the viewer is located and auto rotate the content to the correct angle, so u would fell it as as hologram. .. butt, not the same as a true hologram.

  • This is no hologram people, don't be fooled!

  • why not

  • @loiw1 To create a holographic projector you need a lot of different things

than this louzy 360 thing. By combining the 3d projector with a holographic plate,

fallowed by a strong light source, you would be able to create a way more realistic

hologram than a flat screen turning towards you every time you look at it. -_-

  • @Ruttie2 it's a virtual hologram.

  • @leonidhaimov Wrong.

  • @Ruttie2 tutorial on how to make one watch?v=L7lJbXLRFYQ

  • @leonidhaimov It's not a hologram, it's

a volumetric display. Start learning somethin'

  • @Ruttie2 Ah what ever... Just some dumb people think that the grass and the display at the bottom are the hologram... Like in this vid.

  • @leonidhaimov Look a hologram is a full 3D recreation of a reality,

like a window reflection, you can turn around it. This is VOLUMETRIC

DISPLAY. It is projected on a transparent surface by a projector, the image

however remains 2D. It is no way connected to the real HOLOGRAPHY.

People think it's a hologram, because it creates the effect similar

to the lovely rotoscoping of the ol' movie STAR WARS. People forget

the fact that this movie is pure fiction.

  • This is no hologram people, don't be fooled!

  • This is no hologram people, don't be fooled!

  • the question i have is if they use this for advertising, how would it look in daylight?

  • if it is touching a solid object. I still wouldn't technically call it a hologram. It has to be projected in nothing but air inorder for me to even consider it as one. The problem is that it is such a challenge to even do so. You have ot find a way to get the light particles to show in thin air.

  • Use photoelectric effect in air and 3d HV transmitters @ ~ 1 ghz.

  • @UFOMAN618 Now thats what I'm talkin about! Now we put them everywhere. They can be used for signs hovering in stores showing certain deals on prices. How to use the products.

    Future time!

  • @EpiDemic117 Yeah, I agree with you there. While they were going around with the camera filming you could tell the images were rotating too, not exactly "free floating" images... But neat anyhow.

  • i want that for my birthday

  • that is f#*g cool

  • NOW, THIS IS REALLY 3D!!!

  • Just a montage which could only foos communication pseudo-gurus but not anyone who's once had made basic research on holograms and their applications in a human size demo. Well the inclusion is quite believable, the lights on front pipes too (3Dmax and alike do it so well), but ambient light rendering is so poor. Of course, that should not prevent some naives from buying a 2D projection of something which does not exist but in their minds. Politics affairs proceed that way too.

  • Good technology to take over the world of 3D with. And then have microsoft monopolize it because they are greedy.

  • imagine filming in 3d, you'd have to use some sort of real time scanning tools, process that with a proper framerate, how are you going to film huge scenery scenes, or nature programs, if i wanna see a lion kill something, i wanna see the real thing, not cgi, you won't make a background or anything, becouse you can't view that from 360 degrees

it's all fancy, but really i daubt my grandgrandkids will see this in use other than simple commercial bilboards or holograms

  • @mrsoultwister unfortunately this is not what is meant by holographic at all, these systems only present the illusion of 3-d much like a 3-d film like Avatar does, but even less so. It operates on an old stage trick called "Pepper's Ghost" its a neat effect but completely low tech. Real holography actually reconstructs a 3-d image Essentially if you could actually collect holographic data in real time you could have the background from any perspective and look through it from the other side.

  • you can get exactly the same visual effect this system pesents by putting 4 flat screen displays in a cube, edge to edge, and displaying the same content on each of the 4 screens. This is not a 3D system, and it does NOT project holograms. Cant people be held accountable for false advertising?!

  • its not 3d... just 2d... boring

  • this is just the beginning

  • yeah thats what people dont get.

i bet you there was some guy standing over bill gates's shoulder like. . . .

    come on guys.

a room full of metal you call a "computer" just to do the math probelm 2 + 2?

    this will never work

id like to go back in time to retards like this and hand them an iphone.

  • WOW..How long before movie theaters are using these!

  • I bet you that, finally, after many years, the era of 3D is near! In 2012 I will have a 3D TV, and I won't be the only one...

  • in 2012 u willl be DEAD, we all (a saw doc. about this in the cinema!)

  • No you twat! It's 2022! Plus we kill ourselves not

by nature nor aliens nor earth! Dumbass -__-

  • the way i think it actually works is there are four different sections to the construction and in each section you see a 3D "illusion" so to say, that corresponds with the angle it's being viewed from. however if you go to the other side of the pyramid, you'd see the same image as before. EX if we were looking at a globe with america facing us, and went to the other side of the pyramid, we would still see america, not the other side of the world as expected.

  • Um, so it makes 2D images visible from 360°?

It would be much more impressive if it could transmit 3D images and you could see how an object looks from a different angle.

  • @Unbeginner No, the 2d image just turns towards you from every angle.

  • @Unbeginner No, that's impossible. But you could turn

    cameras into holographic cameras.

  • @Unbeginner That's what it does.

  • @Unbeginner Imagine how much of a pain it would be if you're watching TV and every time you move the angle changes!

  • @leakeg

Imagine how much pleasure it would be if you were watching porn and everytime you moved you could see the pornstars from a different angle.

  • @Unbeginner OK you got me, it would be fucking awesome! Previous comment withdrawn!

  • @leakeg It would be like watching a live show why would that be so bad?

  • @killdoug Well think about when you get a shit seat at a live show! If you sat on a big angle to the TV you be looking at everyone's backs...

  • @Unbeginner u're dude u're fucking dumb

  • @Unbeginner Yes and if you head over to newscientist's channel you will see this very thing.

  • @Unbeginner uh its still pretty cool! imagine...this is the future of television in your home

  • @Unbeginner *epic facepalm*

  • lol i want one :)

  • wow cool

  • i think you're stupid. L2 spell. -> actually, can't, come. you sit on the net and read sites all day, the least you can do is learn the Freaking language.

    moron

  • Star Wars does neither play on Earth nor in the future or our galaxy. Star Trek is more like it.

  • A hologram you would be able to walk around the object and see all sides.

  • @GreivingSoul i suggest you study dimensions. you are thinking 1 dimension too many. everything we see, every thing around us and in this world is seen in 2D, as our brains draw frame by frame pictures of what our eyes pick up. if we now took one of these pictures and put them on a piece of paper, you would find that the picture, not paper, is 2 dimensional, x and y, or length and width if you will.

  • @mattdyce if you are going to 'correct' people at least get you facts straight. A person with 2 eyes absolutely DOES see in 3 dimensions. If you draw what each eye sees on two pieces of paper, and cross your eyes so each see's the correct image, that is ALSO fully 3D.

  • wow... really... nothing in out dimention can be more than 3d we are in the third dimention do you understand that 3d is length width and depth and 4 d is length width depth and duration( time wise) nothing in our dimention is 4 d

  • What about infinite d?

  • @Nasserx1j Yup, people somehow forget that...

  • @Nasserx1j dumb, if u saw irobot the hollogram was completely invisible at exactly 180 degrees. when it passed 360 degrees, the image flipped in the y coordinate. that's how hollograms are supposed to work. noob.

  • @Nasserx1j This is still quite remarkable. The technology is getting closer, and I am quite excited for when this hits the gaming industry. Maybe this isnt a real "hologram" by definition, but it is still amazing.

  • Just to say what I'm thinking what they did...the hologram isn't free floating at all, it's reflected on each of the sides of the pyramid. Place four cameras correctly to reflect that image off the sides and you have the hologram.

  • Im curious, how does this system propagate light at the center? Normally you would have a screen, haze/fog or some way of reflecting the light.

Very neat, I would like to read more

  • That's what I was thinking, probably filled with some sort of gas.

  • it's just a reflection

thei're glass plates placed at an angle

  • Very impressive, however no matter at what point you see the image at the 360 degrees. The dimension of the object will always remain the same shape and angle as anything 3D on film is still projected as a 2D image. Unless of course the image is filmed 360 degrees or animated to rotate.

  • 911 was an inside job but not with holograms lulz.

  • who the fuck started the shit roamer that 9/11 was a fake. you should go home and never come out of you house again im sorry but to do a hologram of the 9/11 you would need huge mirrors to do it.

  • I want one of these in my house to watch tv and movies sick

  • Boo that's not really 3D...how can you call it a hologram? But an excellent advertising medium. Why do people want to make things seem more sophisticated than they really are? 9/11 was carried out by muslims with sporks, highly trained spork-assassins.

  • You're an idiot. To do that, they would need giant panes of glass the size of city blocks, a humongous invisible support structure, and a mindblowingly large display or projector bright enough to be seen in broad daylight. Not to mention the planes would be transparent and brighter than the sky behind them due to the additive effect of light. If you don't know what you are talking about, don't talk.

  • Go back to school.

  • And that doesn't even take into account the fact that the impossible contraption would have to miraculously occupy the same space as dozens of large buildings and miles of roads. All without interfering with traffic or the flight of birds.

  • Why are you an idiot? Even if they were missiles they were not ours and the only attack in question would be the pentagon. If you were the president and a missile hit the home of us intelligence I would lie also so the panic would be less. Otherwise it would be the Cuban missile crisis times 10. Why make people go even more crazy. This is not the lone gunman pilot episode this is reality.

  • your a true waist of sperm to think 9/11 was a video prop

  • i make a sorta mirror field thingy put my laptops screen on the floor put the field on and it wus a "hologram"! you have to be at an angle to see it tho

  • It looks like pepper's ghost to me...

  • It is.

  • I want a screen like this!

  • U can make that with PeppersGhost effect. 4 TV´s 4 big glasses and something that holds the glasses. 1 DVD player with a DVD with a object with black behind it. Just split the dvd wires that u can connect 4 TV´s on it and done.

  • its nice but the olograms are like 15 FPS :/

  • the first tv's where also the way they are now ;-)

  • whole video is like 15 fps. its not the hologram

  • I think thats just the video in general actually :)

  • very cool, thanks for posting!

  • looks like a bunch if hokus pokus is happening

  • LOL Perfectly worded as to only technicalyl not lie. idiots fall for it. its a clear image displayed on a sheet of plastic. so you dont see the plastic. 4 videos shown at th esame time from the , left right front back. cheap. cheap cheap lol. the first 3 words of the video gave away the scam... ""You Can say". Brillinat people caught it. fools didnt. "followed by "its a new way of seing free floating video". free floating... you dont already get it? 4 panels, hanging on a wire.. display
  • trust me its real.

  • This is a perfect example of science fiction becoming reality. This makes me happy and makes me forget about all the shit going on around world.

  • lol tree-hundred

  • HAHAHAHAHA XD

  • wow.. i bet u to make film on that.. erm.. im sure it hard..

  • nicely done,4D

  • I want this to get fuck off my tvscreen

  • was not me that was my brother

  • you wrong ...now is the present:)):)):))

  • now that is the future !

  • Actually up until recently and perhaps some now.. We all watched a lot of things in beta max because television studios used that format for programming. It is actually a superior technology to the vhs but as we all know not as popular. But, in fairness that isn't really home based.

For the way this technology would work in the home (sort of) watch or recall the movie Total Recall.

  • imagine watching porn through this thing

  • its like in the future movies.

and yes watching porn with this... MUAHAHAHA

  • Whatever. This is awesome technology. I see the potential in it.

  • pretty crap video quality for a video company promo like 5 fps

  • It's from 3 years ago, and when you_tube processes video's they lose a lot of quality.

  • These arent going to be home based. its only for commecial use. where you get the information quickly from many angles.

The "3D" image is just an illusion created by recalculating the angle of the image whilst projecting each of its sides onto a pane of glass. really ametuer stuff really. i look foreward to seeing some car commercials in this medium soon though ^_^

  • Eventually everything is "home based".

  • Not allways. Tell me. do you watch many things in beta max? no? thats because it's inferior compared to other technology and that popular media isn't supported by it. this is another example. I can't see the apeal other than the gimic of watching a movie this way in 3d. Look into it. this isn't going to be a media source that will be used other than for advertisement.

  • is it 3D ?

  • nah its not 3D and its not really even considered a hologram. its just a team of guys that think they have made something revolutionary.

  • this video fails, saying its 360 (only shows from the front) love all the 2D images, moving to make it look like there 3D lol

  • might sound like a picking fault but doesn't this just undo all our advances in HD, I mean holograms won't be that clear a picture especially if you can see something like your dog or cat through an intense action scene in a movie, can't imagine watching something like a serious drama while being able to see in the background my dog scratching itself in front of the fire place or licking it's balls, through the actor lol. Would be cool if this holograms were definition perfect

  • holograms and HD are two totally different idea.

HD or high definition is the idea of increasing the resolution of the image(currently 2D image) to a very resolution so you can see it smoothly.

Hologram is the technique to display 3D image. The image is now have depth in addition to height and width in 2D image.

Those 2 idea are completely different.

  • I realise that I do know what HD is! my point was we are making such an effort and have only finally got the definition of an image to be fairly clear, but it would feel like a bit of a trade off to go to a 3d image if the quality of the 3d image isn't going to be very sharp, because I would imagine the 1st commercial holograms will basically be the picture quality of early projectors, rather then the quality being so good it looks like objects are actually there in the room

  • So are you suggesting that people should stop working on 3D images and holograms?

  • @theonewayroad01 no i'm not saying that, just think that their shouldn't be compromise and they should only push the technology forward to consumers when they can say the quality of it is going to be of a high standard, as somone else said.. until they can manage to create holograms to be opaque then the sense of envolvement in things is going to be lost..

you don't want to have an engaging drama and see straight through the characters for example to something distracting behind them

  • Actually HD is meant to give depth to a digital 2D image so it seems more realistic, and sharpens the image so it's more true to how the human eye sees, so your kind of completely wrong about that. In fact the resolution of film is higher than HD because it isn't limited to pixels, it's based on silver halides in the emulsion, which are far far smaller than a pixel, it also has a more accurate color retention because it isn't based on a chip set, it's based purely on the color of light.
