Actually, with a turbo in a truck application, they go to 260hp. The marine versions go to 475hp, but wouldnt last that long in a truck at that hp. All that work to rebuild, and no turbo added? It's only money!
It's going into a 19089 GMC 7000 forestry truck with a 50' aerial lift inc. bucket. The motor is naturally aspirated. This motor can be turbocharged and even intercooled and with this configuration can be over 300 hpbut this one will be about 200 hp.
I'm planning to buy an old Ford cab over water truck next weekend, $500, it has a 3208 and 545 Allison & runs real nice. I can use it on the property for a bit and when I have some spare time that engine would look real good in my '78 Bronco.
Hey, how much boost pressure can these things run? 10 psi?
nice sound, wonder how much power they can make if built up? My friend has a dodge 5.9L thats over 600HP
