To 15greg72: The bottom strings is for effect to create depth. They "ring" according to what you play... And the intro and outro (ending) shows where you are musically, very important according to the great Joe Pass. To start and end a tune without this is considered VERY boring and reveale the player as an amateur. At least in Jazz guitar playing. Good trick to put in the bag... :-)
