  • the academy of asia is in thailand. :D

  • I think the semi-western and thewestern grip are better to put more top spin on the ball . Actually I use a semi-western grip and I fell really good when I play .

  • western is very difficult, i personally use it but u need to hit pretty darn hard, i reccomend semi wester (index on 4th bevel b4 devleoping to western which is the 5th bevel) GL

  • Those grips are wrong. Your western is semi-western etc. I'd remove that if I were you.

  • for muscle freak western

    for dorks semi western

  • what grip does most pros play with?

  • the top two players in the world have opposing grips that are more suitable for their forehand. Federer uses an eastern grip to put power into his insideout forehand for an instant winner , while nadal produces extraordinary topspin with his full western grip to continue on rallies.

However, most pros and advance players use the semi-western grip (the grip between fed and nadals grip) as their standard grip.

  • semi western, but federer uses a hybrid of inbetween of semi and eastern(extreme eastern) and nadal use full western ( not recomended)

  • western i think

  • does anyone know what kind of grip andre agassi play with?

  • nice video

  • what racket ur using?

  • I think it's the old Prince TT Rebel (the racket Capriati used)

  • very nice demonstration.

  • nice purple racquet

  • western is not that good to use on hard or grass courts, only good on clay courts... and powerful shots come fom the semi western..just look at pros like novak djokovic, roger federer, andy roddick.... western is more for spin since the raquet angle is decreased putting more spin than power...... so powerful shots come more from the semi western than a western or extreme western grip....

  • I agree with you partly. It is certainly easier to hit low balls with a smi-western grip. I use a more extream western similar to nadal's (the 'pan-handle' one). Now he seems to do all right on hard and grass courts, and since i've never played on clay, i could say i can too. Low balls with extream western grips just requires more of a wrist action to flick the raquet head up and over.

  • powerful shots coming from the western you hear those pops mmmmmm

  • i can tell you use western normally

  • u swing like how i swing, most people swing their elbows wildly...

  • My dad showed me to hold it near the base but I don't know what kind of grip that is...

  • would there be any differences in grips for a southpaw???

  • western overly hehe

  • saaammeeee

  • A nice video. I learn very useful details. A nice basics tutorial too.
