  • No offense man, but those Ibanez RG550's aren't exactly "fat-sounding" due to their shitty, bass-shy Basswood design. Thry pump out more gain and mids than a Strat, yes, but you should have at least used a Les Paul or something made of mahogany or alder with humbuckers to really show off the drive of the Amp. Other than that, you seem like a nice guy, so I'm not attatcking you or your playing, more of an observation. Peace. -dave

  • Nice and informative, dude. These two vids were the deciding factor in me picking up a Legacy half stack. The tones you got proved its sound.

  • dream theater at the and XD

  • To your credit at least you can play half decently.

  • Dude, that is a great sounding demo, but if you wanna hear a great high sound PLEASEEEEEE TURN UP THE MIDDLE KNOB!!!!!

  • @vicenteroma Yes just that, whatever he does just make sure no one tells him to turn up the volume knob.

fucking nubs all of you hahahaha

  • Just imagine what it sounds like cranked. Tube amps really come alive at full blast. He doesn't even have the volume past two. With the the power section saturated this thing is a beast.

  • @UncleTito72 Yes he talks like a douche and does not know how to you a tube amp. Valvestates were made for this guy.

  • @bornburied Excellent! Thank you for your comment. Your opinion and $1.05 will buy me any one item from the dollar menu at Wendys!

  • @bornburied I did stop by your page in hopes that you had some demos of your own, ya know, like maybe I could learn something from the master himself, but it appears that you are yet another youtube gangster troll who only talks shit on other peoples videos while having none of his own. Merry Christmas troll!

  • @MarkThomasMusic You do realise that the vast majority of musicians do not post themselves on YT right?

Actually, I am as complimentary as I am critical to videos. You went through the 1000+ videos and discovered that...well no.

It's not complicated dood, turn up the volume.

Posting a competent demo is a service to the YT community, the rest are junk from attention whores like yourself, who in turn, call people trolls.

  • @bornburied justify it how you want... the bottom line is that YOU offer NO examples of... well, ya..ANYTHING. So you can of course say what you want. It's YouTube. Its easy to type away. Post something besides your opinion. Make a video. Show us all how it's done. Until then.. Troll on Troll.

P.S. It's funny that you would call someone else an attention whore, while leaving all these comments on my page as well as others pages. Seems to me you crave a lil attention yourself ;)

  • @MarkThomasMusic Justify? Why would i want to impress a guy who plays 100 watt amps at '1' in his bedroom? Internet cred is for the confused.I guess I will live with you thinking i suck ass.

Listen, as I said before sounds like you can play, at least you got that over hundreds of attention craving hacks that can't even make sure thier guitar is in tune. LOL

    TURN UP THE VOLUME FOOL.

    kthxbai

  • @bornburied I don't do these videos for "internet cred" in the grand scheme of things, nobody knows who I am. I'm not Zakk Wylde trying to pimp gear for a company. I do reviews sometimes on gear that I pick up and pay for myself. I do these for people who might be interested in a particular piece of gear. I do get a chance to crank em up, when I take em out to gig. These demos are done in the living room of my apt. I can't crank a 100 watt head in an apt.

  • @bornburied If you would like tho, maybe you can invite me to your studio, or maybe your big ol house and there I can do my demos. As for you wanting attention, you clearly do as you contact several people who have made comments to express YOUR opinion in hopes to get attention. Otherwise, why say anything? It's to gain attention to yourself and your infinite wisdom. Thank you for the compliment on my playing and thank you for sharing your opinion here. thats what its here for.

  • Lol! I thought that drink had something to do with the amp! :o

  • do you know if the legacy(s) steve uses live is/are modded at all?

  • Geat amp! I know cuz I owned one.yep" regretfully sold it in search for tone. Its when you dont have anymore and you play other amps when you realize what your missing. One of the best amps ever!Period! I remember it sounded great no matter where I was sitting or standing in a room.sound seemed to spread and was always big and full.I didnt like the harsh raspiness that the marshalls have in their tone.seems that steve took all of that out in the disign of this amp."GREAT AMP"!

  • Thank you for being one of the only guys on youtube that plays Back In Black correctly.

  • less bass man, legacy got the tone, but need to crank it up :D and its fucking loud :) after 2 year i understood how to let this beast growl and i love it ;)

  • turn up that VOLUME knob to get the powerstage into saturation !!!

  • sounds like jack black in tenacious d

  • nice vid man, i watched both of them. was the amp set on 100 or 50w mode?

  • @damontupp 100 watt. I had thought it was on 50, but i just double checked. Good thing I checked before responding. Thank you for watching!

  • @MarkThomasMusic it does not matter so much with the VOL down before the power amp

overdriving the phase-inverter....but nice voicing you got on that

NO REST FOR THE WICKED as well as the AC/DC-tune.

  • @damontupp He had the Master on '1' or less do you think it even mattered?

  • Straight into the amp sounds fucking AWESOME! It fucking better sound awesome, they cost up the ASS! You got the 2X12 cab, so that bastard ran you $1,500.00. It truly is the coolest sounding amp I have ever heard! Thanks, bro! And your playing has gotten much much better! Awesome!

  • Love the Dream Theater riffage, nice playing all around, and a great demo. Just wondering if you have played the x100b and if so, how they compare to you? It looks like you are in love with the legacy so you probably don't need to try too much else.

  • @cyclysm748 Nope, sorry bro. I've never played the X100. My search for an amp has been a long one. JCM 800, JCM 900, TSL2000. Now, you couldn't pay me to use Marshall... well, maybe if I was getting paid... Crate, Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Peavey 5150... I can't even remember all the amps i've been thru. The Carvin Legacy... I'm happy with this... for now :) is the quest for tone one we will ever find an end? I doubt it. Thank you for watching and thank you for leaving feedback!

  • Great demo, I agree it is a killer amp, dam I need to re-tube mine already, it's due....

for all you metal heads out there, this amp will due just fine, but, go ahead and put a MXR 10 band in the effects loop, and let me tell you this, it's a whole new amp, but you don't have to if you want too hehehe,

Rock on my brothers and sisters out there...............

  • I want this amp, but I think I'll need a pedal to get the metal tones I like to fool around with. Great demo. The tone of this thing is so incredible and pure. Truely musical in all ways. I love metal sounds, but I'll go for musical first.

  • I think this is a really good demo of this amp's ability. I know a lot of metal heads want to hear that drop tuned chugga chugga stuff, but to me that doesn't really show all the tones of the amp. Don't get me wrong, I love metal, but this is an amp demo, not a "listen to me chug this sick riff" demo. Some people might want to buy this amp for its overall versatility. This was a good showcase of the different gain characteristics of this amp. Great playing, great riffs, great demo.

  • @dlowrie290 thank you, and sorry it took me a min to respond. everything you commented on is why i wanted to make this amp demo. I did the 1st demo and i was getting all these messages asking about the gain, so i caved and did the "pt 2" to showcase the gain using a guitar with humbuckers. thank you again for watching AND for your feedback

  • You might want to try turning up the volume on the amp to get some more of the amps natural compression going. Also, you might want to scoop the mids to show people that this amp can do a "Metallica" type of tone of just a metal tone. Also, you have the bass up really high and this amp is very bassy anyway, so you should try turning that down a bit, pushing the mids and treble just a bit to get the balls out rock tone that is more like a Marshall. Just EQ them right and they can do it all.

  • @trex257 hey, thanx form watching. let me respond to a few things that you covered in your note. 1st, the reason the volume is set where it is, is due to the fact the i livein an apt. my neighbors, while cool, aren't really trying to hear my 100 watt head shake the plaster off their walls. 2nd, i don't scoop the mids because the mids are an important part of the tonal sweep. as for your metallica reference, I have read several interviews where Kirk Hammet has agreed, and contrary to what

  • @trex257 some believe, Kirk does NOT scoop his mids out. As for the bass, I have it set the way I like it. If I wanted it to sound like a marshall, I would buy a marshall. I don't like Marshalls. I think they are over priced pieces of ply wood. I have owned 3 marshalls. a jcm800, jcm900 and a tsl2000. I love my Carvin Legacy and you coun't pay me to play a Marshall after owning this Carvin. thanks again for watching! Rock on

  • @MarkThomasMusic Kirk may not scoop his mids now but he definitely used to. That is why they started to use Mesa Boogie amps because the Mark III's had the extra EQ on them and they were already scooping the mid's out on their Marshalls so much that they couldn't scoop them any more. I agree that the mid-range frequencies are needed for a round guitar sound; however, you can get the sound of any Metallica album up through the 1990's without scooping the mids.

  • @trex257 To be honest, i am not a metallica fan. i can't imagine myself ever wanting to sound like metallica. ONCE upon a time, i WAS, a metallica fan. kill em all, master of puppets. then one day i watched that movie... making of the monster or whatever it was called, and realized that metallica was nothing more than a gay boy band trapped in a metal body.

  • @MarkThomasMusic I haven't seen the vids, but i wouldn't like to slander an artist like that. especial such an influential band like metallica, because... well you gotta give it to them. they did a lot for the world of guitaring. And i still think they're a pretty good band.

  • @MarkThomasMusic ...Right, brother! They really have lost their flavor over the years! Playing truly inspirational guitar music and learning interesting ways to manipulate the guitar is more important than what Metallica has ever created! There's a whole other world out there! Fuck tweedling around with '80's metal! BORING! Oh, and I love the RG's! Kick ass!

  • @MarkThomasMusic ...That Legacy amp kicks royal ASS! Make no mistake, there really is NOT a better sounding amp out there (but I do like the Carvin V3, too.) Rock On, nugga!

  • Great demo

  • great demo!

    there's a 2x12 combo w/ uk made v30's for 550 where I live!

hoping to see if i can snatch it soon

  • Thanks for the gain demo. It really speaks to the hyper-sensitivity of this amp to input. I just got a Legacy II combo myself and using my Wolfgang can get some very heavy tones out of it.
