@Pilladdiction Please go to my blog (You Tube will not allow me to post an answer with a web address in it so go to my website and click on the camera ikon) and check out the entry for 02/12/2010 or search for Pear/pair and you will get an illustrated idea of what is involved. To make a vase it is a matter of raising the vessel first and then shaping it to your aesthetic. If you follow my raising videos and the chasing videos you will some of what can be done.
@Ceropegia Thanks! Do you know any methods for planishing metals, so it gets completely smooth? I've read that some master dinanderies used acid baths, and also some machines to planish the metal with rapid storkes by hammer.
It can be completed on the pipe, It will go faster on a solid piece of metal. while i was working on these I had saved enough to buy the t stake and I switched to that to finish the beaker. If you can find a solid cylinder of steel you could use that instead of the pipe and it will move along a little better.
Hi, can you make a video instruction on how to hammer a small copper vase (rounded)?

Thank You your a Great teacher. Can the cup be completed on the pipe or do I need the fancy anvil mandrel that you are using in the other video?
