@pianomancuber91 This isn't from the Classical period (just about everything isn't from the classical period neither), but this is classical music, in the sense of historic Western art music.

Some pretentious dickhead on the Guardian website linked this in a discussion about classical music for non-classical music fans.
After scanning the comments left by the pseudo-intellectual wankers who had previously viewed this clip, I expected it to suck balls. But to my surprise it isn't half bad.
TBH I think I prefer Shostakovich for this kind of thing.
Its a wonderful, exhilarating piece. Banned on most whimpy US classical music radio stations. The middle part is reminiscent of Night on Bald Mountain. Nice to hear it with extra anvils in the balconies! Bravo!
BAH!! I remember this one!

Conducto rather overdoes the percussion, which overwhelm the rest of the orchestra.
Interesting to compare with the Chailly version on YT.

Definitely did not enjoy playing this. The little powerpoint thing certainly didn't help.

The Interlochen Arts Camp was transformational. It changed my son's life. He auditioned and now is at the Interlochen Academy. It's an amazing place.
