I raised European Nightcrawlers at one time. They have the tendency to migrate, that is leave the nest. the odd thing about this is they all leave at the same time. this will leave you with only eggs remaining, if any. They also do not like to be disturbed and vibrations will enhance their migration tendencies.
You are of course welcome to your opinion. But for each of us, we have different needs and circumstances. I believe that for indoor worm bin composting the manufactured towers are a great choice as they provide a space conscious, healthy, relatively mess free solution for the beginner worm farmer. They most definitely are not a rip off, in my opinion. I have composted in every different style of bin and they each have their good and bad points depending on the situation and the persons needs
I have one, it works ok, but it is far from mess free. I wouldn't trash it, but I also wouldn't buy another one. I definately wouldn't keep it in the kitchen although I bring it into the garage during the Winter. Rip off was too harsh. Great choice is too generous. But, it is quick to set up, relatively easy to maintain and not a huge investment if you just want something to fiddle around with, as most people do.
Hate watching commercials...

hi, nice video.
I just want to inform that it is a problem with the "twitter" link. There is a "missing "w" on the address.
Thanks

A wooden box is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter plus it only costs $10 to build one. Skip the worm factory, it's a rip off.
