I like to think of this as what happens to Cuftbert between Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

After evading the super mutant ambush outside the BoS ruined HQ by playing dead, Cuftbert returns to his home to celebrate. He mixes up a gallon of Purple Drank and these are the vivid hallucinations he experiences. In the wake of his drug-induced shenanigans, the residents of Tenpenny tower chase him all the way to the Mojave. Where he picks up a courier job because he left all his cash back home.

Man, despite the improvement in audio-quality from some earlier Mass Effect videos, why is listening to Mumbles and josh still a screech-fest.
