Normally when you do a demo it's like a blueprint for the artist, so they understand which note to hit and how the song is going to go, etc. He did a lot of demos for Mariah on her latest album, Up out my face, this song, They Don't Know Me. He's a producer, so it's his job for the artist to know the song.
