  • This seems really cut and dry to me. If he actually knew that Quito was the highest altitude out of the four listed cities than he would have got the question right. The right answer wasn't listed, but he "claims" to have known that. If he picked Quito and for some reason got it wrong, there would absolutely be no grounds ABC to refuse his dispute. What would they say?"The actual answer wasn't listed?" or "No, it's not that high go away?".

However, it's very strange that it was a 16k question...

  • I think he recorded this himself. Doesn't the interviewer sound wierd? He probably ran his voice through a voice changer program. And then he shows this to women becouse he hopes it will get him laid.

  • This man is not a genius a genius by any means. In fact, after watching these videos up to this point, I'm convinced that he's an absolute moron with a very bad grip on reality.

  • hahahaha, this fruitcake thinks he is smarter than all of the physicists who agree on the current calculated age of the Universe which is 13.5 billion years. If he's right, he should take his "theories" and demonstrate their effectiveness. You know, win over a consensus in the scientific community. How the hell does multiplying the "current proton to electron ratio" by the current calculated age of the universe even begin to give you the real age?

  • He seems incredibly obsessed, perhaps slightly on an aspergers level or OCD level. There seems something really mentally off about him.

  • wonderful greetings from Mexico City!

  • The biggest mistake he does, is complaining that the questions is faulty, but he has still answered it.This means he didn't know that the question was incorrectly phrased while he was playing, thus it is irrelevant that the question is mistakenly misphrased, because he wasn't aware that the highest capital was some city other than those four alternatives... First time I've seen a genius with such flawed logic

  • Oh, the penny thing is probably a cognitive bias that makes picking up a penny with Abraham Lincoln's head facing you more being more appealing than having a building facing you.

  • I just cannot believe he spent his life so fucking frivolously. What a waste of time.

  • He probably has a mental disorder. The"Beautiful Mind Syndrome"

  • He's nowhere near perfect.

But i'd probably accept his answers of most 'accepted' answers, sight unseen.

I'd make money. Better thinking process than almost all of my profs i ever had.

  • Many people will only pick up a penny if it's heads up because of superstition that only that way will bring good luck. Hence, more tails-up pennies will be left on the ground. He views everything narcissistically, so it's not surprising that he's interpreted the penny thing as somehow relating to his level of luck.

  • the guy is obsessed with status and his own intelligence. I hope he can straighten out his life and realize that he needs to take care of his daughter, and I hope he can utilize his mental faculties in a way that's helpful to humanity

    .

  • Part of being an intelligent thinker is knowing exactly what the other person is thinking: to be able to tell ahead of time what their thoughts are. This would have led him to understand that he obviously had only 4 choices and had to pick one (you don't have to be a genius to know that), and that Kathmandu as a choice was a trap. Because Quito is usually stated as the highest capital in the world, that is what he should have chosen. Unfortunately he is not as knowledgeable as he claims to be.

  • @CyborgNinja7

It was not obvious at all on a 16 000 level.

If it had been on the 500 000 level it would have been much different.

  • @OriginalMindTrick It shouldn't matter what level the question was. It was obvious to everyone except Ricky that you had to pick from the four options available. He should have known which of the four had the highest elevation. I doubt he would have won anyway. And if he really does have an IQ of 170 then why doesn't he become the next Bill Gates or Einstein. He should be able to come up with a few patents just by teaching himself the various forms of engineering.

  • How would you even notice whether the random pennies you see on the ground are more often face down unless you're already paranoid about it? Who notices that shit?

  • think what he could accomplish if he didnt waste his time arguing with game show producers.

  • one is not too fucking smart if one needs 4 attempts at highschool to figure out your still the douchbage joo nerd no one likes

  • An interesting man. He certainly has a good memory, but is he intelligent? By some measures he would likely be deemed extremely intelligent. However, Rosner is remarkably deficient when it comes to thinking in a creative manner. What makes him so exasperating and ultimately intolerable though, is his absolutely extraordinary narcissism-- a perfect case study, in fact.

  • 10^85 is not that far from a googol? LOL

  • He should have known that "Kathmandu" was a trap answer because millionaire understands that many people know Mt. Everest is in Nepal; an average person who doesn't know much about capitals would be like "uh Kathmandu" since its in nepal. This guy isnt as smart as this video makes him to be...now with that being said Millionaire still technically owes him a retry. Which of these and what is the mean two different things. Fucking idiots messed up the question

  • @SonicBoom91

On that level it was the obvious choice.

  • crazy asshole

  • Whatever the case, this guy deserved another shot at millionaire. He was right.

  • If he was smart he could pick the answer they wanted. He didn't. Game over.

  • Big Ben is the name of the bell. The name of the tower he is reffering to is actually St Stephen's tower. Good job it wasn't a millionaire qeustion for him!

  • @JANNOSPR

    Who fucking cares!

You think that puzzle was named St Stephen's tower?

  • This guy is obviously lacking some common sense.

  • @davitodude Lol.

  • @davitodude Ya definitely he may be book smart but his common sense and emotional intelligence are seriously stunted.

  • after so much research this "smart" guy couldn't figure out that quito is and was the highest legal capital in the world??? I'm Bolivian and La Paz is not the capital of Bolivia, Sucre is (see the Bolivian Constitution) . Also, Lhasa is the capital of Tibet, which is not a country, China is the country. Correct answer still is Quito.

  • genius or not I realy realy like this guy

  • wats the difference between insanity and genius? your understanding of the subject. wish this guy spent his time researching the power 'elite' which are most likely behind this bullshit scheme show instead of on women and the stupid question... but i'm sure u kno that already

  • This guy is no genius

  • But it says 'which'us state?

  • thumbs up if you flexed your muscles when that guy did.

  • coastline is defined, by most dictionaries I could find on the internet, by land adjacent to a body of water, especially an ocean. I could not find a single source citing it was only land adjacent to seas or oceans, including the ones he said here.

  • Comment removed

  • @Dudexile "spekulation" lol xD

  • how can you say what the probability of somebody making a mistake is? wouldn't the probability involve things like who wrote the questions etc

  • @OriginalMindTrick The leaps in logic that cause a person to call another an idiot based on something they've heard. Unbelievable haha. I like the "soapy foam" theory. All in all I'd say we could conclude that all we perceive is just a mote in the strata of something inconceivably more vast. Our "currently visible" universe is estimated at 13.75, sure...but with all that proverbial "crap" out there, it's no wonder we experience some sort of 'visual' fall-off.

  • watz the iq requirement to not find this guy as weird LOL

  • Wish I had the his cognitive stamina to think through extremely draining questions like him. Rosner is smart, however, its his dedication that makes him partially intellectual. (And by "cosmic beings" he is emotionally disturbed)

  • god this guy talks so slowly. he is not a genius at communicating his ideas concisely or quickly

  • @OriginalMindTrick

    You're having a laugh.

  • @caterpillarprincess

I'm always having a laugh, but if you could specify i would appreciate it.

  • You notice how whenever there is a portion in which Rick is demonizing Millionaire the producer and editor show a slow-motion Regis that in my opinion is intended to resemble some media/corporate melange of a Brooklyn Satan

  • @OriginalMindTrick

"...little bit too authentic" LOL as a former art model that is hi-larious! (I don't consider it stripping btw)

  • @OriginalMindTrick

"...little bit too authentic" LOL as a former art model that is hi-larious!

  • I like him, he's quirky.

    :)

  • this guy is pretty hilarious. he must be pretty pissed about the millionaire show

  • High school over and over, a TV show... reminds me of the artist who was arrested for counterfeiting a nearly perfect $100 bill, once. His teeth look like James Cockburn's (Flint). Is he a narcissist?

  • 750 billion thoughts? cool

  • Poor Jew! If it wasn't for the MONEY maybe he could have let it slide........

Get over it man! You must be a hard creature to live with.

  • His theory of the age of the universe is not absurd.

  • Geniuses like him interest me. He has such an unorthodox personality...it's astounding.

  • "sawed my thumb in half" "nine and a half fingers"

even if he did saw his thumb in half, he would have eight fingers and one and a half thumbs....

  • @beamo817 The thumb on the human hand has only two phalanges whereas human fingers each have 3 phalanges. This give the thumb greater movement and enables it to do things the fingers can't do. Collectively the fingers and thumbs are known as digits. By definition, the thumb is both a finger and not a finger. "Finger" can mean any of the four digits besides the thumb OR any digit including the thumb. It is up to the person to decide whether or not the thumb is considered a finger.

  • @OriginalMindTrick

    What makes you think that?

  • @OriginalMindTrick Where is your PROOF about existing Parallel universes?

  • @Neueregel wheres your proof they dont exist

  • @klooger28 I don't have to prove an arbitrary speculation. I also don't have to prove that Pink unicorns or Flying Spagetti monsters don't exist. It's obvious that they don't !!

  • @Neueregel how is it obvious, many theories that are today considered fact were deemed utter nonsense in the past and many times were trodden out by the church. The heliocentric theory used to be considered heresay and lunacy.

  • @klooger28 Indeed but that happened in the Dark Ages, and then Heliocentric system was debunked and PROVED wrong by Copernicus and then Kepler+ Galileo.. So now, unless someones actually PROVES Parallel Universes, there are mere speculations!! Don't confuse Science with Science-Fiction!!

  • @Neueregel im not confusing it, im simply stating that todays science-fiction is tommorows science. Parallel universes could prove to be the same mere speculation, then proved in whatever way.

  • @klooger28 'todays science-fiction is tommorows science' = not always!! remember nostradamus false sci fi prophecies? It's all bollocks

  • @Neueregel sometimes, going to the moon was all fairy tales even into the 50s. It depends which you choose to beleive in and if people are willing to try and make it come true.

  • @klooger28 Yes, but until they come up with an actual PROOF it remains a fairytale alternative theory. (kinda like String Theory)

  • @Neueregel Yep and theres still a lot of people beleiveing in string theoryas well :P

  • @klooger28 Exactly. They are 'believing'. Belief by definition is not Proof ! I saw Ed Witten's London lecture in July check my vids for that one on String Theory. I mean it's nice Concept (and mathematically almost correct( , but unless REAL Strings or Dipoles are found, we have to be skeptical

  • @Neueregel Of course thats what makes us differ from religion, we beleive in our theories yes, but we are willing to accept new ones if they are more correct than our previous ones, whereas religion blindly sticks to its 2000 year old nonsense :P

  • Moron keeps writing to the producer of show telling him that he is wrong, but won't tell them in his letters WHY he is wrong.

  • Can we give Rick a break? I mean I'm sure he must have had some reason for saying the universe was trillions of years old be it the multiverse theory or something else. I think most of you guys are just trying to make yourself seem smart by making one of the world's smartest people seem stupid.

  • @OriginalMindTrick You do know that parallel universes is only a theory right? I meant this question for you not the guy above you sorry.

  • He says the age of the Universe is 'the proton - electron mass ratio times the apparent age of the Universe?' So he presumes to know more than the hundreds of real cosmologist?

This guy is a bit 'off,' in the head.

  • He modeled at art center pasadena? Aw I must have missed him! lol!

  • a true genius can make complicated things simple that way they can think of many complicated things at once this guy makes everything worse

  • this guy is an idiot for some 1 so smart he makes terrible desicions

  • i dont really like this interview... its kinda boring for me. although if the guy did go technical on stuff he IS pondering about i probably wont be able to understand anyways.

  • No, it should be "Which is" not "What is". The "what" excludes all the answers displayed automatically.

  • @OriginalMindTrick

@OriginalMindTrick I can't really make a judgment about his overall knowledge regarding physics, however, his claims in this video are speculative and are not supported by evidence.

As far as your explanation of the multiverse theory, (which I'm assuming you were doing), any theories regarding a universe outside of our own are purely speculative. You speak of it as if it were definite.

  • @LGreen1995: You are right and you are the only person in this thread that understands the question. You get a cookie.

  • @LGreen1995 yea this guys isn't bright in some ways..its more like 14 billion years

  • @LGreen1995 You do know that parallel universes is only a theory right?

  • @LGreen1995 how do you know how old the universe is? Don't say you know because the big bang happened only 14 billion years ago. What came before the big bang? The expansion and substraction of the universe could be part of a multiverse, which really should be renamed the universe. Its age must be infinite.

  • @LGreen1995 Protons and shit, bro.

  • This guy may have a high IQ, but he's not very wise.

  • Where is he getting these supposed statistics that it was an accident on how it was phrased? Is he actually claiming that he would have known the correct answer if it was phrased "which of these"? Why on earth would he get it wrong if he would have otherwise known the answer?

  • I think this guy makes a good point, but it probably boils down to the fine print.

They might ask you what is the worlds highest point, and then give you the 4 lowest points, and then you have to give the answer which is least low.

What is the worlds biggest mammal; a rabbit, a guinea pig, a kitten or a beaver ?

  • This guy's IQ is around 154 or something. Mine is 118. Yet, im understanding a lot of what he is talking about. It almost doesnt make sense. Here is something interesting to think about: All the "highest IQ in the world" people agree that IQ tests dont accurately test a person's intelligence. Im not saying im a genious, only the complexity of human intelligence CANNOT be measured with one number. Bob may be superior to Joe in mathematics, but Joe may be superior to Bob in other areas.

  • @LotusDragon09 exactly, IQ test are very picky. i hate how people say oh mine is higher so im smarter. they should have a perception test or something. because all these smart guys perceive things or its their POV. if you see and understand it the way that person does, theres a point for you. idk test are stupid. even the Millionare show is. they got the wrong answer multiple times.

  • well im unsure what to think here as hes got the age of the universe wrong by several orders of magnitude.

  • unmatched by anybody?

    hmmm...,

I know you are profound, but where did you read that fact?

  • I feel my previous comment consists of observations worth of merit.

  • Comment removed

  • Doesn't matter how the question is phrased, you still didn't know the answer.

  • this guy is beyond weird!!!!

  • This man was on A&E's Obsessed for OCD. I think his obsessions have led him to believe that his mind running constantly equals extreme intelligence. Spinning in your brain does not equal gaining knowledge. OCD, not IQ, seems to be the acronym he should be devoting his efforts to. Choose your battles. Sometimes you must let things go to move forward. Lordy!

  • Whose say exactly what intelligence is? The majority of geniuses have some degree of OCD...

  • so does many of the medical doctors. What is your point?

  • @Mrkillthatnoise The majority of geniuses have mental disorders in general.

  • @Mrkillthatnoise There is a correlation between genius and many mental disorders. You should look up the link between bipolar, schizotypal, and genius.

  • @Mrkillthatnoise This is called... idiots jealousy..... or art student

  • @FruitsP Are you referring to the video, or my comment?

  • @Mrkillthatnoise intelligence is the capacity to remember recall and speed at which you can retain information

  • @Killjoypunk8909

I would like to add the following to what you said; understanding and the ability to apply said retained information.

Just remembering stuff doesn't make you intelligent. I've met plenty of people who could easily regurgitate information but would be dumbstruck when having to apply basic logic to answer a question (including three people with IQ's of 140+). Intelligence is a collection of many skills.

  • @Mrkillthatnoise speed and recall at which one retains information

  • I agree completely. @karmadharmao

  • Pennies facing up are considered good luck by many and are therefore picked up. People pass over pennies facing down. Human behavior in statistical variation.

  • The last thing an intelligent person should study is a book of lies. All religious text should be burned, discarded and forgotten.

  • So look at it as a book of fiction. Respect it as a historically, mythical context endowed with culture and tradition.

  • have you read pirke awot ? it is not lies.

  • why,WHY ?? Hi's not study Torah with this mind he can discover many valuable things.

  • Don't be a schlemiel.
