  • Haha, I love this song and this version of it had me burst out laughing :D definetly favoriting.

  • I remember flipping the channel to Muppets Tonight just by chance...THIS was playing. For a second, I thought I was going crazy. I said to myself, "How do I work this?"

  • OMG LMFAO!!!!!! I remember this from an evening show that was on breifly called 'Muppets Tonight'. Didn't last too long for whatever reason. They would have a celebrity host it. I remember watching this at the time, and it was one of my fav Kermit videos. Just as funny all these years later. Kermit's the man! Almost died laughing during the 'same as it ever was' part, and I LOVE the faces he makes at the end. Die laughing every time Kermit curls his nose!

  • I love the Talking Heads song, it's my favourite. Go Kermit!

  • Kermit does a better David Byrne than David

  • I love this!!

  • i have a strange feeling i remember this

  • @terenceokane This is from Muppets Tonight. Used to be on ABC (Channel 7) in New York. Kermit's suit got mixed up with Giganticus's when it came back from the cleaners, so he had to wear the oversized suit. Ergo - this! Loved it!

  • Omg

  • Muppets Tonight was in the late 90's, our friend Jim had already passed. Kermit and a part of Mr.Henson lives on with great sketches like this! "This is not my beautiful wife!" Hilllllarious!

  • And you may tell yourself This is not Jim Henson voicing Kermit the Frog.

  • Truly Awesome!

  • Kermit the frog is singing about suicide. I don't even.

  • 01:58sec Once in a lifetime, and never again Kermit.

  • "same as it ever was - yeah TERRIBLE" that was funny

  • David Byrne does a good cover of this.

  • Kermit is my spiritual leader.

  • so janice is supposed to be tina weymouth

  • Great cover!

  • bahahahahahaha i'm not even high.

  • talking heads had a pretty decent cover of this song a few years back

  • @blcannad HIYOOOOOOOOOO! ~ ed mcmahon.

  • @blcannad .....wow....

  • THE GREATEST. ..

  • MY GOD. WHAT HAVE THEY DONE?!

  • Class

  • fuck off kermit you toady toad

  • THAT just happened!

  • Clifford: Nice job, Kermit

    Kermit: Thank you

    Clifford: Nice job, Kermit

    Kermit: Thank you

    Clifford: Nice job, Kermit

    Kermit: Thank you

    Clifford: Man, that was weird!

  • freak'in new Kermit was a David Byrne fan !

love David and Love Kermit !

  • a great song just got greater....... :D

  • PHONY AMERICAN!? And what snobby country are you from? Probably some European toxic dump WE rescued from the Nazis and are too full of themselves to be grateful. Fine then, Skank. Next time some tyrant's out to take your human rights away, don't come crying to US!

  • Its nearly as good as the original .....

  • OMGGGGGGG<3333

  • disney was a blast in the late 80s early ninties, nickelodeon was better 2.

  • Yes this is totally true. The trick is to convert this or any youtube video to an mp3 at mp3thatvid..net

  • @Abdullah77568 Or you can just click "download this video" if you have RealPlayer.

  • so much like the actual video from the Talking Heads

  • Somebody please mashup this up with Mi-Rai-I, because I'm really having a hard time doing so myself.

  • What a bunch of muppets!

  • classic!

  • Best video on youtube.

  • David Byrne used to dance like a puppet and now a puppet is dancing like David Byrne.

  • @quyenthenghiem Muppet. Yes, there's a difference.

  • @PAMuffinMan Haha, indeed you're right. Ten months ago I had no idea my comment would've reached the top.

  • @PAMuffinMan Though using the term "muppet" would've have made sense with my comment, since Byrne doesn't really dance like a muppet. They have their own style.

  • @quyenthenghiem "They" being David Byrne AND the Muppets, I take it? :p

  • Top two comments are nearly identical, come on people.

  • This was from when they tried to bring back the Muppet show in the late 90's, it's pretty much the only thing that stuck in my head

  • I MISS THE OLD DISNEY CHANNEL :(

  • They should bring back Vault Disney & put all the old Disney classics shows, movies & shorts. With absolutely no commercials, or at lest us commercials that advertises Disney company items, or owned by Disney, only.

  • @Lediv7 At least during commercial breaks, we still have Re-Micks and BLAM!

  • Same as it ever was!

  • yeppp disney used to be my fav channel before hannah montana came

  • Yes, folks, yes it did. Disney Channel used to be this awesome and cool. No one will ever say it publicly, but there was a sardonic and fun side to the Muppets once upon a time. Don't forget, these puppets started as adult entertainment on variety shows like Ed Sullivan or Johnny Carson, and then became the mainstays of children's television when Jim Henson decided to give back to the kids. The Muppets can break it down any time they want. That's what they were designed to do, one song @ a time.

  • Those guys are masters to make those moves with puppets just sick!

  • wow this is actually pretty awesome.

  • lol i like

  • Who in the hell can not like this video .... what freakin loosers !!!

  • A "beautiful wife", would be Mrs. Piggy you stupid frog!!!

  • @HungryVermilingua would you really want a 500-pound wife, 95% of it ego!?

  • @DrJekyll38 uhhhhhhhhhh no

  • See you on our June tour!

  • Just goes to show how hip TV used to be.

  • have you ever seen Kermit and David Byrne in the same place at the same time?

  • @conzatorium you just blew my mind! :D

  • Steve Whitmire Really does a Good Job at Performing Kermit!

  • Wrong notes in the chorus.

  • 1:33 hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Perfect score.

  • I think if they added something ro his voice it would have been better. Just sounded a little bare. Great otherwise though.

  • kermit=badass

    once in a lifetime=badass

add em up and u get= KICKASS!!! XD

  • SAME AS IT EVER WAS! :D

  • @ChiselMouse Yeah, EXCELLENT!

  • That was.... well i can't decide whether I hate it or not.

  • I don't understand. Do I love this or hate this?

  • Five stars and favorited!

  • hahaha wow

  • haha....love it!!.....nice suit kermit.....looking sharp!!!

  • Here's what came before it, it'll explain the outfit.

Clifford: Yo yo yo, Here's Giganticus, the world's largest performance artist, singing--

Gonzo: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Clifford, Bad news. Giganticus just got beaten up by Super-Giganticus.

Clifford: Well, what about his suit? We paid a fortune for that!

Gonzo: Oh, don't worry. Kermit's gonna fill in for'em.

    Clifford: This I gotta see!

  • @DrJekyll38 Man, I totally remember that! I feel so old.

  • @Waluigiman Don't feel too old, I myself have it on tape.

As well as the Talking Heads' album with the original song... on VINYL!

  • @DrJekyll38 They have The Muppet Show on DVD but not Muppets Tonight which is unfortunate. I've been meaning to get a vinyl collection but money's tight and I don't even have a record player but there's just something so fancy about having records.

  • @Waluigiman I don't know about records being "fancy", but I would say their "retro" vibe makes them cool.

  • @DrJekyll38 Well their Larger album cover looks a lot better and they're round and large and black and shiny which I think is a lot fancier than a CD.

  • @Waluigiman vinyl is truly a totally beautiful to look at, fun to play with, you can trade them with friends... records are like collecting cards and mp3s all rolled into one. and eventually you learn to love the actual item stored in its sleeve, and your favorite bands are just a needle drop away. it is incredibly rewarding to have a record you love and to begin valuing every ounce of vinyl. when you value not just what you hear but what you can hold.

  • @Wezuhley That's why I'm happy that my favourite band, XTC has been releasing recent re-releases of their old stuff on vinyl now, its coolness.

  • Little bit tone deaf there.

  • Wow... how did they get more than one Kermit? Special effects or something?

    LOL...

  • Jim Henson's character shop can do ANYTHING. Except get Statler & Waldorf to shut up, LOL!

  • @conradragzoff If they didn't just use more than one Kermit puppet, they probably greenscreened it (or bluescreen since kermit is GREEN!)

  • Okay, guys... it was a JOKE..... obviously they made more than one.... I was being sarcastic.... It's like saying "How did they get more than one Homer Simpson on the cartoon?"

  • @CatsLairArchives get off the line if you're going to be mean, Doc Hopper!

  • @DrJekyll38 As if I care what a phony American like yourself has to say.

  • Fantastic!!!

  • Brilliant performance. Do also check out Muppets' gig of "Six String Orchestra" (by Harry Chapin).

  • Nice job, Kermit! Thank you! 3X

    Man, that was weird.

    LOL

  • @PositiveNo

    Muppets Tonight.

  • freaking love this

  • It's easy to throw blame on Disney, but this is pretty good and easily in the spirit of Muppets.

  • Nope, it was this that got me listening to Talking Heads in the first place.

  • I agree.

  • This is seriously weird shit. But it's epic at the same time.

  • what the fuck was this

  • Kermit rocks this. Well played frog.

  • 1:33 hahahaha

  • מטורף.....לחיצה חובה..תבלו

  • I actually became a Talking Heads fan because of this song.

  • trippy.

  • LOL! Love it :D

  • That was awesome, from the moment I saw Kermit in the big suit to Waldorf and Stadler at the end.

  • excellent!!!!! sorry for DB

  • hehehehe laffin till my eyes watered lol

  • lol

  • Brilliant!!

  • kermit needs a tailor

  • Why do you say that? Because the suit is so big?

David Byrne invented the "big suit" for the 1984 movie "stop making sense".

If you do a YouTube search for what I write below, you will see where Kermits "but suit" comes from:

talking heads - girlfriend is better

(It will be the first video that shows up at top.)

  • This is cool.

  • what i was not expecting this at all

  • best frog ever

  • Awesomeness!

  • wait.... disney used to be this awesome???

  • no,

disney might just bought the rights of the transmition on it's channel

  • Yeah, I know, right? XD

  • @pezgirl31 this was made before disney bought the Muppets!

  • @pezgirl31 Indeed, it originally ran on ABC(Which Disney Owns) for about two seasons, but in a Friday Night deathslot, so it was moved to the Disney Channel. In the channel's defense, the sitcoms they run are a lot funnier the trash NBC puts out these days. Contrary to what they believe, people do talk about more than sex, not every third person in the world is a homosexual or mental retard(see Friends, Seinfeld, and The Office. Better yet, don't!). Someday network comedy might be good again...

  • @DrJekyll38 I Agree!

  • This video is so wrong... and so funny. Thanks!

  • you're a nobody if Kermy doesn't sing your songs. lofl

  • OMG!

    i LOVE THIS! YAY KERMIT!

  • *genius

    excuse me

  • Wow whoever came up with this idea is a fucking genesis, and is one of the people who made made disney great. unfortunately now, we don't have that many people...

  • But, apparantly, YOU'RE not a fucking "genesis". Fail.

  • And apparently Zetsu, you don't really have much of a life if your gonna mock something so minor...

  • It's not that I "don't really have much of a life", it's that mispelling something that badly is rather terrible by my standards, and I felt I should point it out.

  • lol you spelled "apparently" wrong. dubfail

  • Anyone ever get the feeling that the Muppet Show-era Kermit would never do such a number, citing how ridiculous it would seem?

Does anyone else get the feeling that the Whitmire-era Kermit is much too happy and relaxed?

    Bring back the stressed frog!

  • This is cool, but Steve Whitmire pales in comparison to Henson's Kermit voice.

  • fuk this is catchy o0

  • Disney Channel used to be this cool?

  • Exactly what I was thinking

  • @Apjooz Nah this originally aired on CBS in prime time. Monday at 9pm.

  • Thank you Lord God for the opportunity to witness this! I am truly grateful for all that you provide for me, but this is something special.

    Amen

  • I lulzed.

  • Nice job Kermit! you picked a song that`s in your range, Very smart for a frog.

    TY- for sharing Pallindrom27.

Thank you for the post ssheridan!

  • he does the arm-choppy thing. <3

  • this is so awesome and funny.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • PhilipJFry72 is a faggot

  • Just...Woa...my favourite muppet singing one of the coolest songs ever... lol

  • wow that big suit really suits him.

  • i'm pretty sure it's a reference to "stop making sense," which was a dvd of a talking heads concert.

  • erm, i know, i've got the dvd. I was just saying that the big suit that Byrne wore suits Kermit well.

  • This sounds better, even with kermits voice

  • Prefer the track to the original, but Kermit's voice kinda ruins it....

Best show ever, made me a happy child :)

  • Muppets + Talking Heads = excellence

  • Muppets tonight was great! Didn't last long though.

  • same as it ever was lol

  • This just reminds me... I miss Jim Henson.

  • this is amazing

  • Lmfao!

  • roflz

  • wrong

  • Brilliant!

  • The Muppet Show was hilarious. Brilliant show.

  • ???

  • This is the absolute canonical proof that Muppets Tonight absolutely DID NOT suck.

  • Better than the original

  • Absolutely fan-friggin'-tastically awesome.

  • hahahaa over sized suit lol
