  • You do need some kind of free weights or resistance bands and some way to do chin ups. If you don't have any of this I think the best thing to do is buy a small set of resistance bands with the door attachment band that will allow you to do the same type of movements as a chin-up bar.

  • Your facial expressions during the 90 day montage were priceless. How do you keep going after those first few days though. I thought it wasn't good to work out everyday if you experience extreme soreness, which I figure most day 1 P90Xers experience.

  • The way you get through the first couple of days is simple, you just do it. Just keep going pressing play :) As far as soreness goes you should take a day off if you are at the point where you can hardly move. A good way to avoid this is to take the Recovery Formula. I've taken it and it really helped. It really cuts down on the soreness so you can continue without interruptions.

I try to pace myself through the workouts so Im not to beat up for the next workout.. Hopefully this week Il be over the sore hump and able to really BRING IT!!!

  • A lot of people don't seem to understand the concept of "body type". Just cuz some other guys managed to get 8 packs in 20 days of p90x doesn't mean everyone else has the same gentic makeup to achieve that. HOWEVER, that does not mean that the changes are not there. To those saying you don't see the changes, you need to learn a bit more before making an educated comment.

  • @MerkabaStar Given that different people have different needs physiologically, your statement is too blanket. If he tweaked his protein intake and added say creatine, maybe his results would be what you're expecting. However, his stomach flattened and toned and he's in better shape. That was his goal, and I think he succeeded. Why rain on his parade because he didn't meet your standards? There are guys on here that smashed the results, so it's not P90X.

  • P90X works extremely well for small-framed scrawny people. Human squirrels do especially well with this program... why? Becuase 90% of P90X is based-upon body weight as resistance. People don't realize that as little as 5lbs of body weight can be the difference between 10 and 17 pullups. Don't believe me? Load a backup up with 10lbs and get on the pullup bar, it will open your eyes. P90X is cake if you dont carry weight... its harder than granite if you are heavy.

  • @blmcmanus24 There is a change, it is not the dramtic change that alot of the P90X videos show, but he is definately more cut at day 90 then the first pic.

    His results are probably what a normal person should expect compared to the 90 day transfomations some people have on here that clearly show extreme metabolisms and very specific body types prone to those kinds of results no matter what program they do.

    This is what P90X will do for the typical person, it is not too bad.

    The program is more than just plain results, its also about learning how to eat well, and making better lifestyle choices. People who get caught up on "'just results" tend to not make it a lifestyle change.

  • @purplekw1 LOL. If you're fat then you're going to see a HUGE change. But you have to understand that the levels of weight he lost and the muscles he gained are MUCH harder to achieve when you're already somewhat fit.

  • GREAT! This makes me feel so much better. Im on day three and can barely do any of the Plyometrics and about half of the Ab Ripper ha. Is that normal? But I have one crucial question, my calorie count on day one was 2341, shoul I just amp it up to a lvl two diet plan or stick lvl one? Im curious. Thanks

  • Odd, the only differance since you have a very lean body mass, is your arms. I see very little differance in your pectoral region. Your triceps are looking good though.

    If he keeps working out he will get even better results.

    Remember - getting in shape is not a quick fix solution. You gotta stay at it. :)

  • Oh yeah this is just the start, the second time around he'll be ripped for sure. The ab workout is what messed me up. Because I had a nice sized belly lol! Had to do a lot of cardio and eat the right foods, to actually see my 8 pack now.

  • i am a scrawny kid 18 years old 5 ft. 9in. and weigh 135lb. im on p90x this is my second day and fuck its hard but watever i just want size and on top of this im taking weight gaining supplements 550cal 54g protein 3g creatine per serving and taking animal pump which adds another 3g creatine and NO to mucles, hopefully i will get bigger and not my penis...cuz thats as big as i get now... ill be back in 88days to let you know how im doing.

  • Good job man. Most people here are bashing that the guy didn't get super ripped. But people forget that working out is only 20% of it all, 10% is genetics and the other 70% is dieting/resting. The guy got good results and there's no denying that he's fit, maybe not super ripped. The P90x informercials only show the guys who get the best results (I'd say about 3 or 4 out of 10 get those results).

  • @HarryDickus Plus he could just do it again and he won't have to go through the same diet as he did during that "fat shredder" phase because he's already fit. He can just use the diet they provide for putting on size. Imagine if a person in this good of shape did P90X again with muscle growth in mind only. He'd get ripped.

    Just get enough weight so that you max out at 8 to 10 reps.

    If you want lean muscle, get enough weight so you max out at 12 to 14 reps.

    NEVER DO 11 REPS!

  • Peanut Butter is non saturated fat. It's good if you are thin and want to gain muscle mass. But in order to do it, you need to do a lot of resistance training with it in your "diet" or whatever you wanna call it.

  • @repetcki550 Not all of their diet plans are about losing fat. They give you all of the options and recipes needed for quality calories so you can have maximum energy for maximum performance doing the exercise routines to get the best results possible. They're more about energy than anything.

  • I've been doing P90X for 30 days (official program for 30 days, work outs since January), it's a great program; BUT it depends on what you're looking for. The program is more for toning down and being in shape, I wouldn't look for getting much size in this program. Don't get me wrong, it works you out. I think the best thing to do would be to get a good balance of the P90X ab ripper work outs, plyometrics, cardio and working out at the gym if you want to get size.

  • dude there is a big difference. if you look at his back, his arms, u can tell they've gotten bigger, u were probably looking at his abs which there wasn't a whole lot of change but if he really wanted a big six pack he probably could have done it because i have seen other peoples results and they go from no abs, to ripped beast.
