You can actually just jump/throw it like normal, you don't have to swing/drop it. Makes it a lot easier.

Very good. I found an alternative way, I did everything just as you did, but placed the orange portal at the floor to the 2nd cube leaving 1st cube at lower button so I could launch myself and get the 2nd cube, and rest speaks for itself:)
