  • Bloomshit is an ASS & I wouid LOVE to HITCH HIM TO A CARRIAGE & MAKE HIM WORK LIKE THESE HORSES! HOW I WOULD LOVE TO SHUT DOWN THE American Society for the PERPETRATION of Cruelty to Animals!

  • I will tell my mom to stop donating to the ASPCA now

  • I am so disappointed to hear this. I will be stopping my monthly donations to the ASPCA and redirecting them to the HSUS.

  • Being on the streets of NYC alone is cruel for a horse. I will never give one dime to the ASPCA. The pictures show the lie. Bastards!

  • The ASPCA SU*KS. They are a FRAUD - Do NOT contribute to this sham

  • In spite of five solid years of activism by many animal advocacy organizations and individuals, conditions for the carriage horses appear to be just as bad now as ever before. And, instead of using their considerable power and influence to ban horse and buggies from midtown, the ASPCA continues to enable it:

  • Wrong, ASPCA & Gennaro. There was at least one time, I recall, when driver Niles Quinn was cited for animal cruelty by an ASPCA agent. The horse, Red Rebel, was, according to the ASPCA agent, "heaving and sweating heavily" in Central Park, according to ASPCA spokesman Jeffrey Hon. Red Rebel was subsequently examined by an ASPCA veterinarian and found to be suffering from overexertion.

    Check your records, ASPCA.

  • Adida and Roxanne Delgado are twin sisters(mentally disturbed

  • the carriage trade does not need protection this is heading in the wrong direction the horses are the ones that need us so as they dodge buses, cars and people on the go horses are not hardwired to be forms of urban travel it is time to make the carriage trade industry unravel
  • Gennaro is trash.

  • Thank you, Donny, for exposing the shameful truth. We have known this all along. The ASPCA's inertia and failure to act has HARMED the horses. Incomprehensibly. its failure to act has served as a rationale for this outdated and inhumane industry.

  • Shame on all those activists and so called animal rights/welfare groups for not being there to speak for the horses. It was not only the ASPCA that wasn't there but many other people and groups. Shame on them for not speaking for the horses who can't speak for themselves. I blame all of them as well as the carriage drivers for the suffering of the horses. Their non-presence and silent was just as bad as the father jordan using the church to promote animal cruelty

  • @horsesinnyc - It only takes one to speak up -Where were you? I am SURE they were there and if they weren't then were not informed about the press conference.

  • @22sheilamahon , actually i was there

  • well we all know that the ASPCA is not an authority on protecting animals after they murdered Oreo.... This is just ridiculous!! Obviously Bloomberg has not listened to everyone, has not done any research, and does not care about anyone but himself!! Let's of course shame the ASPCA, but let's not forget to shame our "Mayor" Bloomberg who is supposed to look out for our city! They are all to blame!!

  • It is shame how many persons from animal welfare/rights groups didn't bother to show up at the hearing. I just they had better things to do. Very wrong. The ASPCA told me that there were minimal regulation in existence for enforcement and the advisory board was created finally last year to address the lack of regulation. Instead they did nothing but window dressing and gave the carriage industry more bill. it was all a farce.

  • we didn't fail them...we just need to KEEP WORKING on this issue!
