a mormon marriage to a non Mormon is recognized by the mormon church btw, and they can marry in the church even, they just can't marry in the temple. the church building and temple are different buildings.

I am a Baptist and at my church if you want to get married in the main worship center you have to be a virgin and be covered up.So I know from my friends getting married,how hard it can be to get a dress.

@LotsOfLoveXOXO Haha well I'm 16 and he's 19 (he was held back a grade so we're only two school grades apart so it's not as weird) so marriage isn't really an issue at the moment, especially since he's about to go on his 2-year mission. We're both pretty logical people so right from the start of our relationship we've known that we were going to separate when he leaves.
@LotsOfLoveXOXO This is because I have little dating experience plus it's pretty pointless to wait around for two years if there's no solid commitment such as marriage. However, I have thought of that before. I don't think I'd be comfortable switching to LDS but if we got married and had children then I'd let them choose what they'd want to do.

I could be wrong cause I'm guessing here, but I think we'd still be able to marry in our independent churches. I'm really not sure, but the Catholic church may not recognize marriage to a non-Catholic? I dunno, religion is tricky business and, again, I'm still a little young to be thinking of that :)

We're both pretty logical people so right from the start of our relationship we've known that we were going to separate when he leaves.

However, I have thought of that before. I don't think I'd be comfortable switching to LDS but if we got married and had children then I'd let them choose what they'd want to do.

@LotsOfLoveXOXO Oh oops, I forgot your first question! As for being married in the church, rbethclark is correct in that we wouldn't be able to marry in a Mormon temple. I could be wrong cause I'm guessing here, but I think we'd still be able to marry in our independent churches. I'm really not sure, but the Catholic church may not recognize marriage to a non-Catholic? I dunno, religion is tricky business and, again, I'm still a little young to be thinking of that :)

@shallwe4138 I am LDS and I have catholic friends. We as people of the LDS church, and I as a person can be friends with someone who is of a different religion. I don't have to be catholic to be friends with them. Just because you're violent and rude, doesn't mean everyone else is. Don't be foolish and ignorant. You won't get far being that way.

this is the thing that is SO beyond weird about mormonism. I used to be a Mormon. Notice how at the end, the mother says, "she's my little girl and I think she should stay a baby." If she's such a "baby," then why the hell is she getting married? Mormons believe that it is normal and mainstream for teenagers to be married. They treat it as if it's as simple as finding a date for your senior prom.

What gives anybody the right to judge someones religion? Being Mormon/Catholic/Christian or anything really does't make them a bad person at all. Stop being so judgmental of people. It's sad to see people being so...nasty to others because of what they believe in.
