Well, birds are very small, no wonder that they have so little impact but what happens if an elefant gets sucked into the turbine? Will it brake? Does the plane need to do an emergency landing? The bird test seems useless in my eyes.
Yes. I too, like GerhardSchroeder will not be satified unless it is proven that the engine can suck in an airborne elephant and come through successfuly. Airborne elephants are the worst hazard to air navigation in the present.
yeah my buddy whos a pilot died in his learjet the faa said it was because they had tracked an airbourne asian elephant it struck into the engine............worst thing in the air

The full tear-down took only fractions of a second, it's the installation of the new engine that will take a little longer :)
