I just adopted a 4 month old chihuahua/mix male puppy from my local animal care center,a few days ago on December 10!My husband and I visited the shelter 10 times and I saw this cute adorable chihuahua puppy. My husband and I came up to him and every time we visted,he never barked at us and knew he was our dog.He has adjusted to his new home, and enjoying every minuet with him.The shelter has a $10 adoption fee to bring home as many animals as they can til 12/9-12/31.I'm sooo happy we found him!
this is the hard truth that so many people need to see. want to buy a dog? take a visit to your local animal shelter on the day they euthanize. i bet your mind will change really quick.
It is wonderful that you are trying to help get animals adopted, thank you for sharing your video, adopting a dog is a wonderful thing....I hope people can come to my page also to see some more rescue dogs in need. We are trying to support a dog rescue in Sydney Australia and would love people to watch the video and click the link in the description to help us by simply voting :-) THANK YOU SO MUCH
me myself would love to get a puppy from a shelter yes a shelter i looked at some and saw some dogs aged 8+ stuck in them i guess most ppl feel a dog is just from xmas
i have a dog my brother and father bought her from the store when i wasn'r even born yet and now i'm in the 9th grade and my dog is about to die you know shes very old :( (btw we think to put her to sleep when she can't move her feet and shes really old because i don't want to wake up 1 day and see her dead) so i want another dog but i got only 3-4 years until university so i can't get a dog because they don't live 4 years :(
@RGA54ETYHA5YH Im so sorry about your lost! It is difficult when you have a sick dog; sometimes you have to put them down. Btw, one good thing that some kids do is once they actually get to university they make friends with other people who have dogs or want dogs and then make an arrangement outside of campus. That way you can have a dog but you have to be extremely dedicated or have lots of help! Also, an adult shelter dog would be perfect, they are easy to handle! No training needed at times.
Answer : CUTE, LOVELY, ADORABLE, FUNNY,GORGEOUS. These terms are the motivation people have their toys or pets. They LOVE to own puppies or kittens. They should be called toys lovers.
@apendo Actually, it is so much more than that. I see puppies get put down all the time in shelters just as much as older dogs. Also, we are already in a pet era in its own form, but then again we are having such a large amount of crises that it is hard to really even consider it as much. There is one main reason why animals are in pounds and shelters, which is lack of an education. Almost every dog in shelters had an owner who were in a bad situation and/or didn't think it through.
@apendo I thought I replied to this but it isnt showing up. Anyways, an education is the main reason because most people have no idea what they are doing. Even I bought 2 dogs from a pet store when I was younger, but I became heavily involved with the dog world, and I then had a whole new understanding about dogs that enable me to try to fix these issues. Also, a lot of dogs in shelters are puppies, and they are as new as you could get at any breeder. Btw, I really do appreciate your opinion :-)
When more people see other people having their own pet dogs and cats, it is going to be a pet era. And more people are willing to buy cute puppies just like buying a new products rather than getting second hand products. I can see people are puppy lovers more than abandoned dog lovers. Simply because humans love to get the best hings more than giving love to the animals.
Most animals in shelters will be euthanized to end their lives if they are not puppies.
my heart is crying for them... wishing to have a better world where people will love to adopt animals... where people are more animal lovers that animal abuser... those homeless animals are more in need of love than those animals in pet shops.. because they already experienced pain not love... they deserve to have a suffer free home... praying for those animals to find their forever home... ;(
Adopting a retired breeder dog and giving the dog a loving forever home and spaying or neutering the dog is a good thing to do..they need love....care & freedom from a cage and being a breeding machine
@lindapittsburgh So true, because many dogs that are retired from Puppy Mills or backyard breeders are dropped off at a shelter, let loose, or sold at "dog auctions" to other breeders for as little as ten dollars...
i'll be adopting my first dog when it's financially possible. it's not alright. but i understand why it happens. people often view rescue dogs as troublesome and are scared of not knowing their sometimes unknown mixed heritage. that can also mean being unaware of any genetic health issues which can be both financially and emotionally devastating. it's an unfortunate situation.
Couldn't make it to the end of this video, it was very sad. I'm very happy that there are people out there like you spreading the message about what happens to these dogs. When I get my dog, it will definitely be from a shelter.
I am all for adoption. However a relative of mine has bought 3 of her dogs from pet-fetch(dot)com. All been in fantastic condition with genuine breeders. I am always going to be for adoption, but at least there are still good sites to buy from at least.
@tysonuk Could not find the site. Even though, this is what I say to anyone who does want to buy. Go to a show breeder, and get one of their pet quality dogs because the breeders that are doing only "pet quality" are what I consider to be not good breeders. These are people who basically breed any dog not caring about structure. This is what makes our shelters filled with dogs. If you go to the american club of that breed they have a list of breeders who will have a pet available almost always.
@tysonuk Also, thanks for adopting! I ran out of room on the first reply, but I had to say thank you because it is people like you that give hope to dogs in shelters!
@DogsNeedOurVoices My dad wants a german shepherd. i am so mad at him becuz he wont even consider shelters. he wants a puppy, not an older dog. it makes me mad cuz when i got my first dog i said i wanted a shelter dog and they got me a lab from a breeder. them my dad gave my dog away becuz it hurt my mom. now we have a mean female corgi that hates me. i want a shelter dog
@pinkgalore06 The best way to get your dad to let up on breeders is to show him the facts. Most breeders that people buy from are NOT professional, but breed purely for money, and a lot of the dogs are unhealthy. Shelter mixed breeds tend to be healthier, live longer, and be loving affectionate dogs. I wish you luck, and keep supporting animal shelters through your wonderful comments :-)
@DogsNeedOurVoices oh trust me, Unless i can find him a beutiful german shepherd female puppie in a shelter that wont happen. but definatly im getting a shelter dog when i get my own home :)
@tysonuk im sorry but buying from breeders and BUYING DOGS PERIOD IS WRONG. IDK HOW U CAN WATCH THIS AND STILL BE OKAY WITH BUYING DOGS. BUYING FROMS BREEDERS GIVE MNORE MONEY SO TEHY CAN BREED MORE AND MROE AND MORE. AND GUESS WHAT HAPPENS? PEOPLE ARE IRRESPONSIBLE NAD THEY DIE IN SHELTERS. MILLIONS A YEAR. YOU TELL ME IF THATS OKAY WITH YOU. ADOPT DONT SHOP <3
Great video, cannot wait to see the next one. It always makes me so sick when I see these families adopt from dogs from these pet breeders that do not even care about health, structure, or the animals themselves.
Everyone should adopt....please come and check out my rescue dogs video on my page :-)

Why people adopt animals?
The people are animal lovers.

@DogsNeedOurVoices
Education is one of reasons but the main reason is "Humans are selfish"
They care about what they own.
A simple example of SELFISHNESS
Most people think dogs are their companions or their best friends.
They want companions and best friends so dogs are the best animals to satisfy their needs.
Best friends mean that dogs are loyal in no condition that people themselves cannot do it the same to animals.
Companions - People feel lonely.
So I call them toy lovers.
