  • where di you hear that? ive never heard of charlotte rae treating anybody badly!!!!

  • GJ stated that Charlotte Rae treated her badly when she was on the show. Interesting.....

  • Still alive...still not funny

  • is geri jewell still alive?

  • I would have killed to see Blair and Jerri lez out!

  • was she suppose to be mentally challenged or no? bc not all people who have CP are mentally challenged and to me she seems normal besides her walking and speech.

  • God, that Geri is funny as SHIT! She could teach a thing or two to Louis CK.

  • When you're hot. You're hot.

  • Geri is awesome on Deadwood as Jewel. Some of the best scenes are the ones where she is interacting with Al.

  • @SabbraCadabra yeah... you sometimes see a 'human' side to al in those scenes... i also like the way the show takes the p*ss out of spacks - it's just showing the cruel truth of ppl in real life... better the job goes to someone suffering from such illness than a healthy person 'faking' it.

  • man i miss this show

  • Josh Blue won Last Comic Standind Season 4 on. Sympathy vote!,,

  • This is so fascinating. Looking back the 80's were a time of curious minds and new story lines that had never been touched. Shows had many actors/singers with special needs and there seemed to be a place for them out of curiosity. Example: Corky (Life goes on)

Also there seemed to be place for singers that were blind such as Stevie Wonder, Jeff Healey etc. - I really feel we have regressed as a society focused more on looks again.

    Just an observation.

  • @RightfullyReticent me too!!

  • I remember watching this when it first aired! I was in Middle school and we had special needs children I was supposed to be an aid for I never regretted those times, nor my special friend Shelly I made, I really miss her. We were always in contact and she was my children's God Mother, R.I.P. Shelly we miss you!

  • LOL! @ 6:39

  • Nancy Kerrigan, are you an official here? Cause you officially give me a boner - boom!

  • She has her eye on Joe.

  • who doesn't want to sodomize natalie?

  • Okay this show was sappy, but I'd trade it for "SKINS" & "Jersey Whore" in a microsecond! What lascivious, brainless crap they spew out today. Ugh......

  • @Badwsky agreed

  • Gerri Jewell - I'm not drunk, I'm gay!

  • @Redskin1040

I read about this reality early this morning. It seems that whenever someone new comes out of the closet, there are posts about it all over creation! This is the first one that I have read so far.

  • @Smartboy8877 It may not be the last (in the media, that is). This was just a comedic spin on her early appearance on TFOL. So she's gay. What's the problem?

  • @Redskin1040

I do not see any problem with her being gay. I was just pointing out how, whenever a new famous person comes out, everybody and their brother seems to feel the need to post a message about it.

  • @Smartboy8877 She's kind of been out of the limelight for a while. I think her coming out is a way of her getting back into the public eye and promoting her book. Posting messages and other media comments is probably what she is looking for.

  • @Redskin1040

That is a very interesting school of thought. Would you say it was a similar situation with Meredith Baxter?

  • @Smartboy8877 She knew she'd be outed with the lesbian cruise. Her situation would be different as she is more of a household name than Gerri, but didn't produce as much comment. In her case, like Queen Latifah's, she'd have to re-invent herself in her carreer. A movie portraying her in a romantic situation with a man wouldn't be as beleivable with this public knowledge. She could perhaps embark on a carreer as an advocate against prejudice among other things. Still, it's marketing 101.

  • @Redskin1040

Although I find this response interesting, there is one thing about it that I do not understand. Where does Queen Latifah fit into this equation? Is there some sort of relationship between her and coming out of the closet? The only thing that I really know about her is that she made at least one appearance on "Sesame Street". She helped Telly Monster find his letter "O"!

  • @Smartboy8877 It's just a comparison because she was also caught (photographed) in a romantic situation with her trainer, Jeannette Jenkins on Alecia Keys' honeymoon vacation. So much attention has been given to her as well, but it will fizzle out as when Jody Foster and Ellen came out. You don't see any of them in hetero situations on film or TV anymore, but I could be mistaken. It's still publicity at the begining.

  • @Redskin1040

You seem to be a real fountain of wisdom! I had no idea that Queen Lafifah was ever romantically involved with a woman! Wow! I had heard mention of Jody Foster, but I did not know that she had ever officially owned up to it. If she is, I find it quite ironic that a man attempted to kill the president to get her attention! Imagine getting life in prison for attempting to impress a woman who does not even like men!

  • @Smartboy8877 Aw shucks, not really ;) Hinckley was insane and people like that are obsessed no matter the sexual preference of the victim. It may be a platonic pursuit. Same sex stalking on the other hand, searches to impose dominance or may be looking desperately for a "buddy", but I think we're going off on a tangent here.

  • @Redskin1040

I agree that we are getting off on a tangent. I just wanted to point out something that I thought was ironic when I first read about it.

  • Look at that old candy bar machine at 2:25.

  • @RightfullyReticent Aspirational TV is a catalysis for consumerism.

  • @RightfullyReticent Aspirational TV is a catalysis for consumerism.

  • This was the most annoying character on the show.

  • this is CORNY.

  • @chthonic19 - I think so too. I like that they were making a statement but it was bad acting or corny jokes.

  • Not to start any rumors, but didn't Geri eventually get kicked off the show 'cuz she didn't get along with the cast?

  • Is it just me or is Mrs. Garret MILF-able?

  • @demandred753 It's just you.

  • @demandred753

    It's just you...

  • @RightfullyReticent @RightfullyReticent American comedies have generally gone down hill so you can't be blamed for thinking these old shows are better. However to write off all comedy as bad disregards many of the brilliant shows from elsewhere in the world.

  • "geri.. you're here already.. How nice" wow pathetic acting much? fucking terrible. And nothing that bitch says is funny.

She really knows how to kill comedy.

  • Geri Jewell kicks ass... literally... She'll kick your ass.

  • I think there should be an even larger out cry at how all of those women aren't in the kitchen

  • ONE FOR EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK.

    Audience : Awwwwww

  • bwhahahaha Family Guy hahaha

  • Worst show ever... She sounds like Jimmy from south park.. Glad those lame tv shows are dead. Only good thing was the blonde...

  • she was great on Deadwood

  • you know. i have CP and I love to act. ever since last year, i was thinking of being an actress. but, b/c my voice sounds like geri (with the disability accent) and i doubted i would hardly get any parts in movies and tv shows. this prooved me wrong. thank u geri! :-D And those who says she sounds like a retard, you have offended me! its not our faults we sound this way.

  • @dottiedots221 me too

  • Comment removed

  • @mjknlr Hi, so apparentely I'm a pedo due to something I'm NOT in control of and something I was born with. You are the retard here! And do not go saying I'm a retard because I'm obivously doing much better than you!!!

  • @dottiedots221 I was saying "pedo" as a natural response to the abbreviation CP (not thinking of cerebral palsy) as a common internet joke, not realizing what I was replying to. Of course immediately after I realized what I had done, I deleted my comment, but I suppose you still got the notification. I apologize.

  • @mjknlr Thank you so much :) I forgive you ^__^

  • @RightfullyReticent that's because a lot of ppl dont care about morals

  • Watch Heather McDonalds impression of her.

  • @MrZebraZombie lol yeah she did pretty good ahah

  • this sucks. and today's comedy is worse.

  • Appreciate good clean TV

  • why shed have 2 talk about cp all the way?

  • look on Imdb- Geri DID play characters by other names

  • All tv shows today have sex and killing and i hate it i watch this when i was young . what funny if u said the FU word u be kick off of the air or any would. that was good tv today is Crap i hate today tv i wish we go back to the old way.

  • Why does Geri Jewell only play characters named Geri (or Jewell in Deadwood)? Does that mean Tony Danza have CP as well? All of his characters are named Tony...

  • @fridun007 No Tony just has a slight case of brain damge when we was hit in the head while boxing, or maybe it was from when Jonathan tthrew a Judy Garland album at him.

  • what can I say, when you're hot you're hot

  • Geri is so much better on Deadwood.

  • Groundbreaking Television!

  • Another crap-fest horrible 1970s-80s TV show. I remember watching in my early teens and thinking shows like this were soo stupid...to say nothing of Love Boat, Dukes of Hazard, Alice, Starsky & Hutch etc. Now watching them years later makes me cringe at how dumb these shows really were.

  • i THINK ITS TIME AOPOLIGIZE....Im getting alot of mail( some hate).so I am.

  • I just got to meet her tonight! I think she changed my generation's perspective and CP and other disabilities!

  • Comment removed

  • all that information is prevelent to this how???

  • "Don't worry, I'm not drunk... I have cerebral palsy."

  • what the hell is sooooo funny? DID SHE DIE ?

  • She actually has Cerebral Palsy if you must know!

  • Possibly you may want to educate yourself on Cerebral Palsy before making such insensitive and ignorant remarks!

  • I appologize. I dont understand it. C.P looks like it doesnt affect the brain but more the muscles. Mabey, I should watch the whole damn episode so I can get it.

  • well google it. Its kinda hard to get when u are completely ingorant to it but once you read about it you will understand it more. And i wasn't calling you ignorant to be a bitch, i called you ignorant because you did not know, the actual use of the word.

  • People with Cerebral Palsy are not retarded. We're usually a lot smarter than you normal folks.

  • She was excellent on Deadwood.

  • I'm wooking for Bwair Warna?

  • This is JUST not right.

  • I remember her High school, a true knuckle head

  • Comment removed

  • she said TOSSED SALADS...lol...other than that your jokes are laaaammmmeeeeeee Jerri...and Blair is such a beatch...

  • shes reminds me of jimmy in south park with the stand up comedy

  • lmaoooooooooooooooo

  • For all thosw who complain about her commedy act- this is a tv SHOW- script was probobly written

  • it still makes me uncomfortable to watch.

  • Comment removed

  • Comedy Killer. It's funny because of how un-funny it is.

  • Lmfao! So this is what Jim Norton meant on the Bob Saget Roast when he said in the comedy world, Saget was two notches above Blair's cousin Geri on the Facts of Life!

  • Nah, she's just got the balls to occasionally spank an out of line kid. Balls that you lack, Ralphie. Sorry : (

  • handicapped or not, her "comedy" routine here was absolutely abyssmal

  • Geri really does have cerebral palsy like me. Too bad my cp actor friend didn't see this!

  • @Mambo64,

There are good disabled stand-up comedians out there.

Josh aka Ponceman is a stand up comedian with down's syndrome who's quite popular on youtube.

  • @ElectricShark I agree. Josh Blue who has CP is hilarious.

  • I met Geri Jewell today...=]

  • lol people with disabilities are cool!

  • you said it!

  • It's CHARLOTTE RAE, not Martha Rae. ANd she is still alive, dimwit

  • LOL!

  • LMAO poor Charlotte Rae, having to do Facts of Life and all those Polident commercials too.

  • Blair is my light and my inspiration. Gerri is an angel. Mrs. Garrett taught the girls well. Rest in peace Martha Rae.

  • I'm wooking for Bwair Warna?

The best part are the chuckles in the audience after she says that thinking it was a joke or something

    "Hi Bwair!!"

  • LOL! Hell, I was laughing too!

  • Haha, someone tries to play off their laugh as a cough too.

  • Love the line "questions dont hurt, ignorance does" line. Kids today (at least the ones I work with) are SO ignorant when it comes to people who are teh slitest bit different. And these are kids in Special Ed- minor Learning disabilities.

  • i agree i love that line to cus its the truth

  • Comment removed

  • wow those jokes are kinda fucked up lol

  • It's all about Blair's hair...

  • I love her line, if I'm drunk I walk perfectly straight"! A friend of mine has bad balance due to childhood brain surgary- she uses it often!

  • "Hi, Bleh..." We truly miss you, Geri!!!

  • This is too awkward to watch. But I'm gonna' finish it anyway.

  • I hate that fat bitch.

  • who?

  • I'd do her.

  • I remember watching this in the 80's- older girls with Beverly Ann; but this ep is wonderful. Thanks to syndication & You tube- I can catch up on old eps. Thanx for posting this bit

  • Geri has a very mild form of Cerebral Palsy. Some have it more severe where they can't talk or walk. I knew a girl, in junior, who had it worst than Geri. She couldn't even talk or walk. She had to use braces on her legs and a walker to walk....

God bless Geri. She was so funny!

  • May God Bless Actress/Comedian Geri Jewell in deed. She's a survivor! She's A role model for all handicapped people to follow! Do you remember when Geri guest starred on The Great Space Coaster back in the year 1983. Geri sang by herself, I wish I could be a part of the gang. She then sang with Puppets Goriddle Gorilla, Knock Knock, the pink bird and Baxter, The Clown.

  • I AGREE!!

  • May The Lord, God always watch over Actress Geri Jewell- She's one very special person! Do you remember when Geri guest starred on the classic Puppet tv show, The Great Space Coaster back in the year 1983? May God Always Bless Her Good, Positive Spirit!

  • @fl1992 You must be retarded as well.

  • Blair and Jeri are a complete contrast. Blair is perfect and has everything. Geri is handicapped but is happy and has a few good jokes. Yeah I laughed at the "Bleh" jokes and all, but I really rooted for Geri when I was a little kid watching this show.

  • Good stuff. What a courageous woman! She's sexy, too. Those of you who 'get it' can applaud yourselves. The rest? Well, you will never understand because you're spiritually bereft.

And anyone with a thick skin (a really thick skin) who has watched Deadwood, will see Geri Jewell at her best.

Interestingly, in FOL they used her real first name 'Geri' and in Deadwood they used her real last name 'Jewell' (except they dropped one el.

    You go girl!

  • Gerri rules. But surprise, surprise Blair is fucking bitch as usual.

  • "What a great audience"

  • That HAD to be the inspiration for "Jimmy" on South Park.....

  • Geri Jewell's name actually appears at the end of one of the South Park episodes under the "special thanks" category. I think it was "Cripple Fight", which had an amazingly staged battle between two handicapped characters.

  • she's not retarded, you ignorant a-hole-- CP has nothing to do with intelligence; it's a physical disability. Try to keep your horrible comments to yourself

  • Yeah that's true. I'd do her though.

  • "I learned the facts of life, watching The Facts of Life!" :-D

  • I remember this when it was on Nick at Nite. This episode was so cool!! The sound isn't good in this video...I can hardly hear it. Any1 else feel the same?

  • I remember this show, too. I, too, have Cerebral Palsy; I'm afraid I don't always deal with/accept it as well as Geri does, though. This has been a real eye-opener, seeing this, again.

  • May God always bless you and Geri and guide you both in his path. Do you remember Geri guest starring on the classic 1980's puppet tv show, The Great Space Coaster back in the year 1983?

  • Geri looks better now, has anybody seen her lately? She looks great!

  • The last show I saw her on was "Deadwood" where she was cast as The Gem's housekeeper. The Gem is the saloon/whorehouse run by Al Swearingen.

  • Everybody looks better now than they did in the 80s.

  • I too applauded on the "questions dont hurt, ignorance does" line. infact i gave it a standing freaking ovation!

  • I don't get the tossed salad joke.

  • Duh. She is talking about how the restaurant management did not like how she licked their buttholes because of her unsteadiness.

  • Toss (throw/ drop)_ salad as she is carrying it; due to her balance being off.

  • Ignorance does!*obligatory applause*LOL!!!Okay Professor Crooked-Head..Chortle..chortle.Teach me more...Please!Hahahahaha...

  • I remember this episode, this one are the one am watching, but this botherme Blair`s actitud with her Sister, i hated, but yes they were very funny at the end, and, i do remeber watching them so as grwoing pains and the ricky stratont show..long time ago but i do grow up watching them to

  • I am 20 and I didn't grow up with the series back in the day, but I watched reruns as a kid and I just fell in love with the show! I liked them all I think Natalie was my favorite and the tomboyish one.

  • Do U mean Jo?

  • Yeah, I forgot her name for a bit. They were both funny.

  • Geri was the Paris Hilton of the 80's

  • hhahah wtf.

  • These jokes are so DUMB!!!

  • uhm girls...Girls...GIRRRRRRRRRRRRLS!!!...Thank You:)

  • aww i used to LOVE this show :)

  • Huh... She's rather normal. I thought she was like "Jewel" in "Deadwood", a real super cp gal...

  • Is she drunk?

  • r u serious?

  • I am going straight to hell for laughing at this comment.

  • "i sold a piece of pussy"

  • Geri is on Deadwood...she's great

  • Best show Ever.

  • Who knew people with Cerebral Palsy could be so funny?

  • You're kidding, right?

  • i cant believe joe calls tootie a bonehead..unbelievable

  • It would be nice to see this on television again. Good show.
