For one, you must understand you are a 'sinner'. You have broken the Law(s) of God. He is Holy and nothing unclean can come before Him. Jesus came to shed His blood for your sin(s) and when you ask for forgiveness and call on Him to enter your soul, He will come in your heart and make you 'pure' & 'you are born- again'.
