Actually, the ERYX missile proved pretty efficient in real combat, against Soviet-made tanks in Yugoslavia. It just doesn't work when untrained soldiers dunno how to handle it.

Lenalives, the French were pretty good at firing while running toward the enemy - for instance, when they saved your country's independant insurgents in the 1770s. I remember pictures of the British surrenderring to Rochambeau & Lafayette. Yes, the French kings' flag was plain white, as the lilly was their emblem. Nothing comparable with , err, for example the white flag waved by your poor compatriots at Bataan when they surrenderred to the Japs...
