RIP Big Man. This was a man, a giant man, a man beyong measure. I never even knew of him until I paid attention to Toby Keith's song. I just watched the story of him on TV. Always smiling, what a big man he was. Makes me won't to cry and I am a grown man. People count your blessings.
@snoop0851 Can we please NOT do this on Wayman's page ! He was not about all of that foolishness and it's very disrespectful in general but especially to the memory of a great musician and person who happened to be a black man by the way !
@Mariodupree You are so Right the stupid one doesn't deserve any time, that takes away from Wayman the Genius, still it's amazing how just one word can make or break you. Stay blessed and let's all stay focus on The Man who left us to soon.
Amazing how God's blessings are sometimes distributed. Yes, his life was too short in our eyes, but Wayman was an elite athlete in the NBA, became a top-selling musician and by all accounts was a wonderful person. With all his God-given gifts, he inspired more people in tribulation than he did in celebration.
I'm so very grateful to have known of this amazing man when I'm listening to his magic it gives me peace and pleasure and satisfaction to when what he believed in and stood for. Secret Place is so very special with his spirit poured into it. I loved he was so dedicated to his family and God and his fans. One in a million who came to this earth delivered God's message and brought peace love and joy then went home to the Lord .Bless his family and God for sharing him.
This guy is truly one of the greats of jazz music...His tone and musicality are unparalleled and easily recognizable! Thank you for the memories of your music but most of all thank you for being a great person whose passion for music was shown every time you picked up that bass guitar. Your talent surpasses many, but you stayed humble! RIP my brother and I can't wait to hear you play on the other side!
What a great artist and a wonderful person. Always with a smile on his face. God Bless you my brother Wayman. You touched the hearts of many, mine included. R.I.P.
R.I.P Wayman Tisdale! your music and story have so inspired me and so many others. After playing professionally for so many years I got into an automobile accident where I got three fingers amputated. But after hearing Waymans Music and story he has so inspired me to finally pick up the bass and play again. Wayman Thank You! For your wonderful music and story. Your Music will live on forever. I wish I could have met you, But God willing we will meet in Gods heavenly Kingdom
@amigaman7 Hey there it sounds like you've got a heart and spirit like Wayman's God does not make mistakes and you're here for many reasons , someone needs to hear you or read your message. Stay strong and if Wayman did it for sure there are no mistakes for the children of the King. You'll be inspriration for someone else.
I never really been a jazz fan until i heard "AIN'T NO STOPPING US NOW" by Wayman Tisdale. I've been listening to R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, Rap, Classic Rock, for years, I appreciate all kinds music and I have a wide collection of music but i was tired of the same old songs. Now I love Jazz, preferably Smooth, Contempory, Uraban Jazz. Thank you Wayman Tisdale and may you rest in peace, God Bless you and your Family.
This guy's in my heart and soul for good.I have read a lot of materials about him (not to mention the entire discography of him I have an honour to own), and understand and know what beautiful character and heart he had (had...what a sad word). The most important thing is that he had no any racial feelings towards people of other skin color (as many black people had and have,to my regret). I am a person very sensitive to racism stuff (both white, black or whatever). Wayman, I love U, man....RIP.
I love how he enjoyed his music...you can some how genuine he was. He is a joy to watch and listen to...thank you Lord for sending Wayman to us! RIP my brother!
2-6-10 was Wayman Tisdale Day at OU. At the OU/TX BB game we celebrated Wayman's life. His jazz band played for us at the Lloyd Noble center for about 1 hr before the game, then at halftime, Toby Keith sang his song he wrote about Wayman. Amazing!!!! RIP Big MAN!!!! Boomer Sooner!!!!
Wayman did make that bass talk. Boy, do I miss him. His smile, his funny jokes and wacky sense of humor. Tiz, I will never forget you. I know you would tell me, "Fe-fe quit cryin girl, I'm still smilin and still playin!" I just know it!!! R.I.P Tiz

@jazjett I feel that the way he lived his life was perhaps his purpose in life..and that he set an example how people should treat one another regardless of all the other things which stand in the way of being human.
@jazjett I feel that the way he lived his life was perhaps his purpose in life..and that he set an example how people should treat one another regardless of all the other things which stand in the way of being human.
Wayman was the man...I remember watching him when he played at OU... sweet left handed jumper. Plus the brother always seemed happy, like he was really enjoying life. It's said that the great use of life is to spend it doing something that will outlast it. His music is his legacy and I will continue listening as I did so often before his passing!
Yes he was a awesome musician. Although I never saw him as a basketball player, I heard that his fans and team members had a lot of respect for him. RIP!
Wayman gave life into music as life was given into him,he played as he felt the keys of life flowed through him,he glowed as the keys of music dance around him like a shinning star, like a river that flows into the sea, like a water fall flowing over a cliff as his music flowes into each and everyone of us.
I sure enjoyed this brother's talent, gifts, and enthusiasm for life. He showed us how to maximize on the life God has given us. I always felt like I knew this brother and never met him. It had to be the Christ on the inside.

I loved Wayman. I met him back in 1983 at a store in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I will never forget that smile. RIP Wayman.

Wayman had a presence on and off the court in Sactown. His music will be missed by all smooth jazz listeners.
