I take it this is the first gun you have even made? I remember when I made my first improvised firearm, I was just as surprised that it fired also. It was an awsome feeling of satifaction. I have experience in this "practice" I advise you stop the use of copper piping due to the effects of corrasion and the high chane of having the barrel rupture, which can send hell blaze of shrapnel or the direction of the projectile may go somewhere dangerous. I advise the use of a diff. metal such as steel(chrome reduces mishaps) anything other than copper trust me brits.

Careful, lads... Copper pipe+any propellant= bad idea. steel pipe and threaded fittings would give you a greater safety factor and performance. Your soldered connections failed on firing, but good show for what you had to work with. :)
